New thread...

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 24/05/2007 11:16

beany - i hadn't noticed your advice , but now i have read it, it was great...what are you talking about?! i just remembered mine fluctuating and i know that they still do so i thought i would share!

basilbrush · 24/05/2007 11:16

MrsMc - ditto what Beansprout said...i hope i didn't sound patronising

beansprout · 24/05/2007 11:13

Greedy - thanks for offering MrsMcJ some useful advice instead of my "now don't worry your little head" type advice. Sorry MrsMcJ - on reflection, being told not to worry at such an anxious time was just crass. My respectful apologies.

greedygreedyguzzler · 24/05/2007 11:06

mrs - if you are worried about your temps fluctuating please look at my chart! i carried on temping sporadically after my BFP (still do for some strange reason) and mine fluctuate from 36.6 to 37.0 so i wouldn't worry too much. hope that puts your mind at rest a bit

Hope this works!
MrsMc - you are as always, a star! I am looking forward to my wee pressie arriving in the post! I know it's hard, but try not to panic about your fluctuations...if the you are well above the cover line, then I'm sure it'll be OK. Remember that statistically you have EXACTLY the same chance of hanging onto a bean after one m/c than if you've had no previous m/c at all I think the most important thing is to try (haha) not to stress too much - the most important thing is to take care of yourself in body and spirit, focus all your positivity on nurturing your bean.

beansprout · 24/05/2007 10:18

Sorry Mrs McJnr, I didn't mean to ignore you, I hadn't seen your post!

I found out I was preg with ds at 4 weeks so had a long, agonising first trimester. The best advice I had at the time was to believe that I was pregnant and to have faith in the little feller. I don't know about temps post 5 weeks or so, but the fact is you ARE pregnant and your baby is growing and getting stronger every day. You are being supported and monitored and your job is to relax. I really hope that doesn't sound harsh as I mean it in the nicest possible way and in no way am I suggesting any impatience on my part. No, no, no! I'm really glad you are still here and supporting us all!

It's a bit like taking the stabilisers off the bike and trusting that you will be ok. Big, big hug to you.

Rahrah - will miss you but completely understand you needing a break. Please look after yourself and come back when you are ready.

Jess - glad your temp has gone down. It's unnerving when our bodies don't play by the rules!

Basil - I am no expert but are you taking your temp at the same time every day and doing it before you do absolutely anything else, inc having the thermometer within arm's reach? That is the explanation a lot of the sites give for what you are describing. Other than that, you need someone who actually knows what they are talking about (not me then).

Temp has gone back up this morning, which is a relief. Am getting into testing territory but can't bear to see another madness inducing faint line so will hang on. Had a lot of cramping yesterday but seems to have stopped today. Am keeping things crossed.

Does anyone think I should be worried about my see-saw temps? They seem to jump between 36.5 and 36.7, when I look at the last pg chart; they did the same before I stopped temping at about 5 weeks. The software says that as long as I am above my coverline it?s ok and I am well above it but I?m a bit worried, help

Poor you Jess I can imagine how you are feeling. It does feel like you put your life on hold until it happens again I know and it?s hard to think about anything else. Don?t go on the pill hon, it could mess up your cycle and take a while to work its way out again. Why don?t you have a chat with our pals on here they have planned some great diversions!

Hey Basil ? there is a package on its way to you today so you are CD22 today? Does sound to me like you probably did OV on CD18. You had a .3 degree rise in the days following. I think that temp dip was too early after OV to signify implantation or anything you can deduce anything by. The fact that it has gone back up today suggests that it might well have just been an odd day yesterday. It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings. If I were you I would treat your coverline as 34.45 and if you continue to stay above that, chances are you have OVd. That said and I know you know this; the first few cycles after your MC might be a bit odd. It sounds unlikely that this cycle is AnOV, your temps are too varied, thermometer seems fine; those temps are all in the normal range, temps can rise or fall with illness hence the need to look at the chart as a whole not the individual temps, it?s the pattern that matters. All you need to do to post your chart is to do a link in the usual way i.e. copy the location of the chart and post it in between ?\link{chartlocation\here?. HTH

Hey Seaside can see why the comment the Dr made was annoying! I don?t think there was anything more that you could have done

Hello everyone else City, Beansprout and Nappy ? I believe the Panda has his sights set on you at the moment, fingers crossed! how are you all feeling?

seaside72 · 24/05/2007 09:40

Morning temp buds

Will be back later for proper catch-up but just wanted to say:
Rah we will miss you so much but completely understand the need to take a break - MN is wonderful but can become a boit of a hamster wheel of emotions constantly going round in circles and not being able to get off! Thankyou for all your kind words and wonderful support and advice. I am glad my list gave a bit of food for thought - I told my GP yesterday and he said - wow 20 months and it finally happened without intervention and I said - whoa - hang on - maybe no intervention from you but plenty from lots of other people!!! I wish I could say what the one thing was that made the difference but I can't. I def think the flower essences helped my state of mind which really helped everything else.

Anyway I wanted to say you will be greatly missed and I hope we can catch up again sometime soon on the pg boards with neither of us back here IYKWIM (until its our 2nd ). You will get your BFP hon (I predict July/Aug ) it is your destiny to be a mummy, you already are and Bertie will guide a new buba to you and DH very soon.

Good luck with your appointment in July - fight your corner and get what you want from it - you deserve it. Loads of love and luck and {{{{{{{{{big hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

basilbrush · 24/05/2007 09:29

Good morning - well so much for a week off MN, i'm back after 4 days as I have a question for you wise and wonderful ladies. The answer is probably "you can't tell until you've been charting regularly for 6 months" but what the heck....
This is my 2nd cycle after m/c in march so not sure when AF is due. I started temping on day 17 (sat) and got two days at 36.4. then temp went up to 36.6 and 36.7 on days 19 and 20 so thought "great, I must have ovulated now" Had also got some EWCM (had had a little before I started temping but not as much)at weekend which seemed to confirm this. Then yesterday temp dropped back down 0.3 to 36.4. This morning it has jumped up 0.6 to 37! CM has been abundant and creamy since Monday. (lurvely) What on earth is going on: I have some theories:

  1. It's an anO cycle?
  2. My thermometer is broken?
  3. I'm ill this morning but haven't realised yet, hence high temp?
  4. Yesterday's dip was just random and should be discarded?
  5. I ovulated before I started temping and yesterday's dip was an early implantation dip?(ha ha - i know, clutching at straws!)

I've been using Fertility Friend, if someone could tell me how to post my chart on here, I will

Good morning. My temp dropped this morning, which was a bit of a relief.

I removed you from the list rahrah. Hope that's ok. I considered taking a break this month as I found the last 2ww unbearable too. When I had my mmc I tried to put all the upset to one side and concentrate on getting pregnant again asap. Now 3 months on I'm an emotional mess. I've even considered going back on the pill as I'm not sure I can cope with anymore failure. But here I am ready to start a new cycle. After all 3 months is not long at all in the ttc game and I just need to be patient .

I was glad to hear your scan went well MrsMcJnr. Good luck with the next one.

Fingers crossed for all those in the 2ww.

mum03 · 23/05/2007 21:27

Rah to not be hearing from you for a little while, but it is for the best, you need some 'you' time. I will come here regularly for a rant in your honour . I hope that you find what you are looking for in terms of de-stressing. You are one special lady, and I look forward to hearing from you again in July.

MrsMcJnr · 23/05/2007 21:08

RahRah - you will be sorely missed, you have been through so much but have still had so much support and enthusiasm to give to all of us. You are truly a lovely lady and I really hope that things go the way they should for you. I shall be keeping everything crossed for you x

RahRah1 · 23/05/2007 20:51

Evening all... I have been sooooo busy and looked what I missed another BFP!! Congratulations iwillbepgbydec2007...your name has come true!

Sorry jess to see you back to a new cycle. Can't answer your temp question as my temp's always dip.

MrsMcJnr - excellent news on the scan, so glad everything is working out this time. It will make all the difference now they know what the problem is.

MUM03..have a big fat rant on me

Minxi, sorry to see you starting a new cycle too... but glad you are calm and relaxed... always a good start!

Seaside - thanks for the long list of stuff! OMG did not realise you were doing so many things. I will get on the internet tomorrow and purchase a few things. I also think I will re-start my reflexology. All sounds well in your camp..don't worry about the morning sickness... it will come! I got it around 8 weeks until 12 weeks and its harsh! My head was permanently down the toilet... UMMM something to look forward too!

beansprout - hang on in there - I know it is horrible... I just had the worst 2ww since Bertie and I was so upset...but back onto another month and I'm still here and OK.

Hi Duchesse - Hope you are OK and not going senile!

Ready - Glad to hear you have ovulated..YIPPPEEE

Anyway after a particularly hard 2ww, I have decided to take a break. I have the fertility appointment in July and want to focus on relaxing before then. Otherwise if I go completely wound up, they will never give me any treatment. I will be lurking and will be back probably after July. Safe journeys to everyone that is pregnant and to everyone that isn't YET, you will be shortly and I will congratulate you as soon as you post your good news. Thanks everyone for your kind words about Bertie and support over the last few months... but I think it is time to hang up my OPK for a break before I hit melt down! Thanks again and wishing everyone all the luck in the world! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

MrsMcJnr · 23/05/2007 15:30

Iwillbe ? know exactly how you feel hon, just take each day as it comes, baby steps and take optimum care of yourself Re temps I think you may stress yourself out if you start temping now as months can vary and you?d have no idea what your coverline is. I would leave it if I were you. I am only not stopping because it?s kind of a habit and I feel a bit superstitious at the moment too. Hope you are feeling well come and have a chat on the Graduate thread.

Beansprout ? that?s the spirit!

iwillbepgbydec2007 · 23/05/2007 14:28

hello girls!

thought id come and say hello to my buddies!

thanks for all of your congrats - i am just feeling numb about this whole situation i am only 4+3 and too scared to talk about the future and the possibility of having an actual baby! i have decided i will be paying for a scan at 9 weeks if i cannot get one on the nhs. purely for piece of mind as another 8 weeks of wondering if my baby is alive is going to ruin me. sorry to be so glum when you are all still waiting for your bfps

minxi- sorry af arrived this month there is always next month... welldone on the moonwalk too! am i right in thinking this is just a walk at night?! how far was it?

mum03 - i have read your posts and im that you are feeling so glum. try not to get so hung up on age, it isjust a number! my dp is 41 and is just about to have his first infact he will be 42 when bubba arrives . also i just wanted to say that it is still early days you are only on cycle number 6, which i know is a long long long long time in our minds but really it isnt. your time will come if you decide to carry on once you hit the big 40

hello to everyone else i have missed!

mrsmcjnr - i didnt temp last month but was wondering if i could start now and just compare temps with last month or would that not work?! or even just to see if they are higher than normal?

I?m so crap at keeping up I?m going to keep temping until my next scan on 5/6 and see how I feel about it then.

Ready ? honey, how are you? How is DH and is he ok being in that horrible limbo? And are you managing to stay positive, I know it is so hard. If I can help in any way, let me know

Hello Minxi good luck for this cycle, calm is good congratulations on finishing the Moon Walk Sounds like you DS is doing a great job weighing up his options Thanks for your thoughts for me.

Mum03 ? hang in there hon

Hello Jess ? sorry about AF my temp often stayed high after AF until around cd4 or 5, that happens to quite a few of us, try not to worry, it?ll just add to your stress. Sending hugs x

Beansprout ? it could but then again it could be an implantation dip. Fingers crossed it gets back up there tomorrow

Duchesse ? how are you?

Hope you are all ok, sending love and luck to you all

I haven?t caught up on what I missed but I sought out Lottie?s post:

Lottie ? thank you for your good wishes I am so so sorry that you are feeling the way you are at the mo. I won?t pretend that I am surprised that you and DP have split up, I hope in time and in a short time you find someone who loves you totally and unconditionally, that he makes your heart sing and lets you know you are the centre of his world and he cannot bear to be without you and I just know that very soon, that someone will come who sets your heart alight and before you know it, you will be cradling a precious baby conceived with someone with whom all you have is positive history and a long future. I have been making this wish for you for a while and I can?t wait to hear from you again when it happens. Take care my friend. xx

Seaside and Iwillbe - you still temping? how are your findings and how long are you going to do it for?

Long live the Pregnancy Panda

am off on holiday tomorrow...so will catch up again on the 3rd unless I manage to get to an internet cafe..... have a lovely week or so....hope to see more bfp's when I get back....

Hey up ladies!!

Minxi - That's excellent that your DS is in the under 7s - bless him. I hope that one day he does play for Chelsea or Man Utd or Liverpool Well done on the moonwalk!

Mum03 - I missed your post on here - I don't think you should stop ttc just because you are getting nearer to 40. Honestly, people are fitter and healthier today, so if you want to add another baby to your family and you feel fit enough to do so, then don't let age be a factor.

Gotta run... Hope everyone is ok?

duchesse · 23/05/2007 10:42

Jess- if it's at all rassuring, I find that my temps drop completely randomly from month to month- some months two or three before my period, some months up to 3-4 days after. There doesn't seem any rhyme or reason to it. I would liek to say it shouldn't affect fertility, but obviously I don't know that.

BTW ladies, thank you for keeping me in teh list even though I can't be arsed to temp properly. It helps me keep track of where I am in my cycle. When I think how alert I used to be on that score, always knowing exactly where I was up to, I can only conclude that I am either senile or deliberately "forgetting" that sort of thing.

Ho-hum- hope all well.

Well AF started properly on Monday, but temps have still not dropped. Maybe I didn't OV last month and my temps just rose slightly because the weather is a bit warmer. Feeling very depressed and disheartened. Why has can't my body recover from this m/c?

mum03 · 22/05/2007 21:57

Minxi - thank you for reassuring me I am not alone. I think it is more about my age and reaching the big 4-0 that is making me think twice about it all. I always said that I would "never" have a baby after I was 40, my mum had 2 and both of them had health probs and I got it into my head that after 40 the eggs left are just poor quality and the higher risks for health problems for both mother and baby were too high. But then I know there are many people who are my age who are still ttc#1 and I would not say to them to stop trying.... oh I am just waffling in a ranting sort of way now. I did just intent to say thanks.
