Massive temp increase for me (highest ever reading!), but probably due to my cold rather than the start of a triphasic chart. Doctor was very nice yesterday, but it will be up to 2 weeks before I get the results as apparently they only do progesterone tests when they get enough samples in.

Nappy, duchesse and minxi - fingers crossed for all of us.

Evening all. Cannot believe that this si the frist time since Friday that I have had to turn on 'pooter. Could not find my thermometer until this morning, after cleaner came and changed sheets on friday morning (new cleaner). Finally tracked down rouge thermometer on DH's side (last place I thought to look). Well temp still high, just playing the wait and see game - not for BFP, but what we want is for AF to start AFTEr saturday (which would be LP12) rather than the current LP 9/10.

I think I shall start a vitB6 thread as I am having some wierd side effects.

Fingers crossed for blood test. when do you get results Jess.

mum03 - thanks - needed to hear rationality instead of getting into too much pointless testing! Sorry if post misled - its not for me but DP who also posts on here (mainly in hut of doom), so I'm backing off - she may update. Of course if its BFP we'll get some banners made up .

mum03 · 11/06/2007 18:25

kayjel - i often have had high temps for 4 or so days after ov, it can happen, unfortunately after that it does seem to gradually come down again just in time to start rising for ov again. Once or twice it has happened with a very light af too but unfortunately have not been pg with it. I hope that your temps go down soon and stop the what-ifs for you - or of course it would be nice if I was wrong and you instead get a bfp!

kayjayel · 11/06/2007 08:56

Hello, need to call on some temping advice, so hope its okay to call on this thread? Its on behalf of Impatience who's in a boring work meeting all day.

She had a lighter than normal period last Thursday (though she's always only 2-3 days, this was 1-2). She's not been doing temps, but cos of this weird period (with worse than normal cramping, still crampy yesterday) she took temps Sat, Sun and today. They're all post-ovulation temps ... Looking at previous months (on about 20 now ), this looks unusual. Temps now aren't as high as post ov temps get, but definitely over cover line and from previous months should be at least .2 less than they are. WTF is going on?

Of course - 3 BFNs so far. Today a look-really-hard-and-squint type line/smugdge, but really BFN. It seems she's about 19-20 days post ov.

Does anyone have any experience/ideas of what might be raising her temp. After so many months its too hard to think of pg, especially with neg tests, so want to try to be a bit rational about temps. Have ruled out alcohol, exercise, sleep deprivation as they are a constant over last few years! And no signs of illness.

Please help with some sane, rationale advice!

Hi MrsMcJnr. As I understand it, brown blood is old blood and in the majority of cases is nothing to worry about. I think I was very unlucky and I didn't mean to scare you. If you have another scan booked in a couple of weeks then I would probably just wait, as you probably are just fine. I did not really have spotting. It was more a sudden quantity of mucus stained with brown blood which was only on the toilet paper. I really regret not going back to the EPU because I look back on those 4 weeks after that and I was so happy at that time and to be honest it makes me feel sick to think that I was so happy when actually the pregnancy was all over. So, to cut a long story short...if it was me, with my history, I would call up EPU tell them I was panic-stricken and insist on a scan. If they refused, I would go private. However the sensible option, I think, is to wait as in the vast majority of cases brown blood is nothing to worry about.

Nappeyvalley - sounds like you're having similar charting problems to me. I would have thought that LH would not go up after OV, but maybe it can....

Minxi Fingers crossed for both of us.

Thanks Nappy I?m a bit calmer as the spotting seems to have stopped but still a bit on edge. The injections are ok, not my favourite part of the day but I get through them. I?ll need to do them until 6 weeks after the birth. How are you getting on?

Jess ? thanks sorry about your story I called EPU the day of the bleed and they told me to hold tight and that they?d only re-scan if the bleed was red blood. I called them this morning to say that I really would like them to re-assure me with another scan before I go on holiday next Sat but they won?t they say that as I saw the HB on Tues and the bleed was brown that night, it hadn?t happened in the last 24 hours and therefore was nothing to worry about. They told me to get the haematology emergency number in case I MC on holiday and have to manage my Clexane sometimes I do feel like EPU are not very positive. Toying with a private scan but really am very skint, what would you do? Enjoy your cycling weekend

Iwillbe - sorry about the MS, sounds like you are being sensible with your fruit though!

Hi Minxi ? I?ve dreamt about EWCM before! thanks for your concern I?ve been speaking to the EPU so probably in better hands than my GPs

Morning. Temp SHOT up this morning (sorry Jess not trying to make you even more paranoid!!) Highest every temp. I even took it twice. It might be a flukey one as I almost got out of bed before taking temp.

BUT... having said all that about CM yesterday, I have to admit that this month my CM has been much more like yours Jess. An it has been sticky and dry the last couple of days. So if we assume I had already OV'd before I took those OPK tests, we can ignore the tests, as LH levels could be all over the place. FF has move my OV to CD14 now. Either way I think we missed the boat this month due to a lack lustre effort. That being said it is obvious that the B6 is doing something to my cycle. I have also been more depressed and moody yesterday which for me is a sign of increased hormonal shenanigans.
So we'll play the waiting game and see if LP is longer.

Jess I think we should name this the erratic cycle buddies!

I'm going away for the weekend. So no temping and I'll try not to think about ttc (although its a cycling trip so I'll probaby be too knackered to think about anything!). Hope you all a have a lovely weekend. See you on Monday.

hello to rattling, nappyvalley, cityangel, duchese, and feedmenow.

love to all x

jess1996 · 07/06/2007 18:29

Sorry to hear about the bleed Mrs McJnr. Hopefully everything is ok. Can you get an appointment for another scan? I don't mean to scare you, but I had a scan at 7+4 and everything was fine, saw two strong heartbeats. Two days later I had a tiny bleed - just brown blood. I ignored it, but 4 weeks later I found that it was when my twins died . I wish I'd gone back to the EPU and found out much earlier. I'm sure this is very unlikely, and like nappeyvalley said it can be caused by lots of things and isn't a problem. But if I get pregnant again, I won't be shy about troubling the EPU over any small problem. I am hoping very, very hard that everything is ok for you.

I don't know what to make of my temp problem. I do warm the thermometer in my mouth beforehand. I always take the highest temp as I think it's less likely to be wrong. I guess I'll just have to see what happens .

NappyValley · 07/06/2007 14:04

oh MrsMCJ how stressful for you. Has your blood pressure returned to normal or are you walking very daintily??
My friend had a major bleed at 8weeks which was v scary but everything was fine. Can be casued by lots of things, like placenta position etc. Sending you lots of good preg vibes. R U now doing your injections? Is that for the whole pregnancy?

Thinking of you

MrsMcJnr · 07/06/2007 13:03

Nappy BD = Baby Dancing! Make hay whilst the sun shines (i.e. +OPK = green light )

Minxi ? hello!

Jess hope the blood test goes well. Greedy?s advice on the temping is good. It does take time to get the hang of it all My pattern of CM is a bit like yours but not as much EWCM (no such thing as too much! I think what you are looking for then is the change from most fertile type to less fertile rather than dry up

Thanks Rattling had a bleed yesterday though so that was very scary and blew my reassurance, we?ll see what happens. It seems to have settled down today.

Hope you are feeling better Mum03

greedygreedyguzzler · 07/06/2007 11:26

sorry for butting in, but jess this is for you........................do you always leave your thermometer in your mouth for about a minute before pressing the button? you need to let it warm up in your mouth first and then i would take 2 readings and make sure they are more or less the same to 1 d.p. hope that helps, and sorry if you are already doing that and i was stating the obvious!

morning all.

Temp still high, but OPK +ve this morning so who knows. FF is definately confused. Still no EWCM in fact my CM agrees more with an early OV. Who knows. We have not had anytime for BD (what does that stand for btw) but will put some effort in tonight and the following days and see what happens. no high hopes but at the end of the day what we are hoping for is a longer Luteal Phase really.

Jess thanks for encouragement I hope your right about temps being high prior to OV. As for your question about CM. Well I can't really help there as I find mine is watery and creamy most of the month with maybe 1 dry day after AF stops. But as for EWCM I get that for a day maybe 2. But I have only been looking at it more closely for the last 3 months.

I know what you mean about picking and choosing temps. I usually say go with the first semi-awake temp of the morning. HOWEVER not if the thermometer beeps after 15s. If you have got out of bed or drunk some water it will affect it. Also some people get anxious when they take their temp which releases a burst of adreneline affecting the temp (my experience no med proof!! ). Trust your instinct. If you think a temp is wrong then it probably is. My biggest prob is a good nights sleep. Broken sleep gives me a mich higher temp.

Final thought of the day. Your body is still recovering from M/C so don't be too hard on it or yourself. It will settle down and you will get your BFP I am sure. Glad blood test is happening. You never know they may come bakc and say you are pregnant!!!
