I used to use an over the counter antiseptic on my spots in the evening. Worked a great. Savlon or TCP. I also have a green tinted primer to reduce redness. Use it even if I don't have foundation on! Hope everyone is keeping well.

@OrcinusOrca I used acnecide last week which reduced some of my spots, but has made my whole face dry and raw. If you use it - use sparingly! I might give the Carbon Theory soap a try next.

I haven't been around much of late and feel like I've missed loads! Congrats on the BFPs ladies!

I'm feeling very pessimistic currently, was all optimistic last month. Hormonal acne has hung around which isn't helping. Been putting ice on my face every evening to take some of the redness out

Thanks yammers. We're ok this morning but she does enrage me. I love my mum but fuck me it's all about her. I can witter about being pregnant all day, because I am, but talking about the baby scares me. Think I'm extra upset because she is absolutely obsessed with this baby being a boy. For context, I'm nc with my bastard brother who she would literally forgive for murder, made no secret of preferring him as a boy, and I can't help feeling slighted on behalf of myself and dd who is the only grandchild anyway. In laws are so understanding, but she cannot get her head round why my feelings about it might trump hers. S1lver sounds like your mum is similar. Hope it settles.

Hi Yammers, I didn't pick up this thread when it changed - not sure why but just had a quick scout through and saw that some of you are now pregnant so wanted to say congratulations! I hope your families can stop working to their own agenda though @LimpLettice and @Si1ver.

@Aph413 I'm so sorry for your early loss and hope you're ok.

I'm just in the TWW so desperately resisting the urge to POAS too early. Think I ovulated on Tuesday or Wednesday which makes me 5/6 dpo so only a few more days to wait.

@LimpLettice @Si1ver - That's pretty dickish behaviour, hope they wind their necks in soon. I'm keeping this to myself for as long as I can to avoid all that. Can't get excited for a long time yet and feel like I'm just waiting to lose again.

@Limp I'm so sorry your mum is being a dick. And that she upset you like that on your honeymoon.

My mother's not speaking to me at the moment, because I got cross after she decided to tell my sisters about my IVF after I specifically told her not to. My sisters who both conceived the first month they tried and have no concept of infertility.

App I had a 5 ish week loss last year and gp recorded as a miscarriage. Midwives have counted 5, 7 and 4.5 losses as miscarriages. You're entitled to feel the loss and I'm very sorry you've suffered it.

I've just had the most god awful row with my mother (yes we are having a big family holiday as honeymoon) because she took massive offence when I asked her in front of mil to stop cheersing the baby and going on about how often she's dreamt it's a boy. We're trying so hard to be positive but it's not that easy, so altho I'm happier it discussing pregnancy I still feel talking about the result is a step too far at only 15 weeks, but somehow my mother managed to make the entire situation about her and what a rude, dreadful daughter I am. We've made up but I'm now the only one in the whole villa awake, fuming at how little empathy she bloody has. Gah. This is why I hate talking about losses with people who have never had problems with ttc or miscarriages.

So sorry to hear that @Aph413 You're entitled to call it whatever term fits you best. A loss is a loss. Be gentle with yourself

Sulking my way back here now. Got my bfp and managed to stay pregnant for a whole week. Was mightily unimpressed and fucked off with the world for a bit. It was confirmed with the doctors that yes I really was pregnant and no it wasn't sticking which was fun. Anyway tests are negative again so I'm back to it, feeling like a fraud for calling it a miscarriage to boot since I only managed to get to 5 weeks.
Apologies for my disjointed rant.

Glad you had a lovely trip Mynameis and that you’re feeling a bit more at peace about the whole ttc malarkey. I’m still hopeful that you’ll get your sticky BFP very soon, but I do think that quelling that awful voice in your head that insists on comparing yourself to others and accepting that there are actually lots of positives to having an only can be hugely beneficial. I’m definitely feeling much more at peace than I was about it all a year ago, and whilst I think we will go down the IVF route, I can also see us drawing a line under it all and accepting our lot in the not too distant future.

I definitely feel that I have a lot more freedom now than I have done for the past 2.5 years, and whenever I feel down about ttc I try to cling onto that (and the fact that my body doesn’t do pregnancy all that well, such that not being pregnant again might not be the worst thing for me physically long term). Xxx

@cariad I’m doing okay, my trip was lovely in that I forgot about work and the stress of that. Budapest is a lovely city, really chilled out vibe, felt very safe and friendly.

I’ve still pretty much given up on TTC to be honest. Fp is due in Tuesday or Wednesday, I’m certain it will arrive as usual. I’ve resigned myself to only having one now and I’m okay with that. DD is amazing if I do say so myself. So at least I have her.

That was indeed what I meant by stats Wonky. As a long term ttcer I’m always curious.

Enormous congratulations S1lver. Fabulous fabulous news. Your story gives me hope that IVF might be the panacea for all our fertility issues as well.

1dpo at this end and we’ve done everything we can (again) but after 22 cycles (approximately 19 of which have involved impeccable timing, I’m extremely doubtful it will happen for us naturally). The only hope is that DH took a course of antibiotics about 5 weeks ago aimed at improving the DNA fragmentation, so we’ll see...

Well I'm five weeks today according to the NHS (I'm actually 15days past a five day transfer so I'm really only three and a bit weeks) so I'll be considered 7 weeks at my scan.

The scan is meant to check placement.
