Great idea @owl What shall we do? Import yams?

Owlpatrol · 24/04/2018 21:54

Quit *

Owlpatrol · 24/04/2018 21:54

@LexieJean totally not trying to well at anything as the last few days of tww end....re jobs shall we just quite together and start a business lol I'm on stat as well sigh. What's the point!

LexieJean · 24/04/2018 21:05

Also just watched the friends episode with Rachel and Ross seeing their baby scan. Trying not to wail.

LexieJean · 24/04/2018 21:04

Really? @hopeislost I had no idea! Thanks!

Hopeislost · 24/04/2018 20:15

@LexieJean Chorizo often has dried milk and/or lactose in it!

Si1ver · 24/04/2018 15:54

@MichaelKnightsCar that's so hard. I think I would be calling their secretary and explaining your situation and time limits and see if they'll help. Medical Secretaries can be fab at getting things moving.

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 15:22

@Si1ver I haven't yet. My follow up appointment came through.....fucking October! Angry
I'm currently existing on ibuprofen, god knows the state I'll be in by then.

Si1ver · 24/04/2018 14:58

@MichaelKnightsCar damn name changes. Yes I saw your thread on FB. Did you speak to your diagnosing doctor like I suggested?

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 14:44

@Si1ver yeah that was me. It's just another obstacle to deal with which is a PITA

Si1ver · 24/04/2018 14:43

@MichaelKnightsCar did you post about that on FB recently? Or was that someone else?

It sounds very difficult for you, I hope you get some progress soon.

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 14:38

@Si1ver good luck with ivf I really hope it goes well for you. We've had our initial tests done on the nhs already, husband has had to be retested this week and we have initial info finding/consultations at 2 clinics nearby early next month so hopefully that'll get the ball rolling.

I've recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that need treating but they can't treat if TTC/pregnant so that's another time constraint and I'll have to very quickly make a choice about treatment and no babies or babies and possibly serious physical damage due to no treatment Hmm

Miserablemouse · 24/04/2018 14:23

Oh Silver good luck! When will you fly out? Hope the injections aren't too painful/crazy inducing. All the fingers and toes crossed.

Si1ver · 24/04/2018 14:21

@MichaelKnightsCar I understand the concern. We're late 30s too, which is why we're self funding IVF, it's quicker than wrangling with the NHS. Also, I spent a year in denial convinced I would get pregnant. Which was the second year of TTC. So that didn't help.

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 13:47

@LexieJean I did change jobs not long ago so it's keeping my interest right now but it was a sideways move and I feel ready for the next rung. It's tough. I hope you find something awesome soon!

@Si1ver we've been trying for 10 months so not long in the grand scheme but I'm late 30s and my husband is early 40s so we haven't got time on our side Sad sorry for your mc loss Thanks

Si1ver · 24/04/2018 13:19

How long have you been trying @MichaelKnightsCar? It took me 18 months to get a bfp. Ended in MC, but still.

I did my first injection last night and then went to bed early and slept like the dead. Apartment is booked, flights are booked, scans are booked. My lovely mother is paying for taxi transfer to Stansted as she doesn't want me driving myself and my husband can't drive.

Owlpatrol · 24/04/2018 13:02

I'm so glad of this thread and like you said we've all been trying for so long it's almost a joke and infertility is never spoke about. I'm sort of in two minds whether yo class myself as infertile yet as waiting for all the results back and I feel like end of the road if I say that even though I know there's options before adoption....anyway af due tomorrow and onwards so I'll keep you posted although every sign of it coming anyway !

LexieJean · 24/04/2018 12:37

Why are these things so expensive @pinkemi I don’t know anyone who’s used anything like this. If you thought their testing and plan would make you stick to the healthy/alternative options then maybe it would be worth it. Or can you motivate yourself by thinking about that as holiday money and creating your own plan? I’m pretty lazy but you might be able to motivate yourself!

@michaelknightscar I’m changing job. I can’t justify staying somewhere that’s making me MISERABLE because I might get pg. it’s been nearly 2 years. But then I only have statutory benefits so I lose nothing.

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 12:18

Oh and I still have Ovia and FF but I only use them to record period days and the days we shagged.
Otherwise I never even open them or record anything else.
The symptoms are pointless anyway.

Next fp due on Friday when we're at a wedding 🙄

MichaelKnightsCar · 24/04/2018 12:16

Glad to see others feel the same. I'm close to being reckless and jacking in my safe secure job with amazing benefits.

I feel the same about feeling like it'll never happen. We've done every other day from end of fp to start of next fp. We've done several months of smep, we've done everyday through fw

And I've never even had a snifter of a line on a hpt

There has to be something wrong with either me or husband Sad

Pinkemi · 24/04/2018 11:57

@LexieJean You sound a lot like me! I need to get back to cutting stuff out.. but yummy naughty treats are just too tempting at the moment. (sigh)

I keep thinking about doing one of these: www.yorktest.com/products/food-drink-scan-test/

But i have read conflicting evidence on if they are actually worth the money or not!

LexieJean · 24/04/2018 11:48

Yes @pinkemi pretty much. I had a couple of really bad diarrhoea episodes and my skin was awful (eczema and spots) and did a bit of dr googling. I tried cutting out dairy totally and felt a thousand times better, then slowly reintroduced some things. I wonder if it’s IBS and not a dairy allergy as things like chorizo set it off as well. I’m pretty good at managing it now and will have a splurge when I know I can deal with cramping and toilet trips the next day! I mostly have oat or almond milk atnernatives and used to have soya until TTC.

Pinkemi · 24/04/2018 11:41

@LexieJean.. How did you find out about them? just through trial and error?

LexieJean · 24/04/2018 11:35

@pinkemi I have food sensitivities also, mostly with cows milk so my skin and guts go nuts when I’ve eaten stuff I shouldn’t have! But cheese is soooooo good it’s hard to resist. 🧀🤣 Plus when I’m super miserable with TTC and FP it’s a delicious consolation!

Pinkemi · 24/04/2018 10:38

Thanks Ladies.. This thread is good because it reminds me that I am not alone. Infertility is never spoken about.. so it just makes you feel like you are the only one going through this problem.. you know?

I guess I'm just frustrated with myself for self sabotaging everything! gah!

I think what doesnt help is that Ive been having a really bad stomach issue for the past couple of weeks.. I know its probably just my IBS flaring up again (Its been stressy at work) Or because I have been eating a lot of crap recently, its my bodies way of saying that it doesn't like something Ive eaten. (Im sure i have food in sensitivities)
But.. Ive been googling " Is this a sign of early pregnancy" EVEN THOUGH i've just had a period and am obviously not pregnant. (sigh)
