I hear you @dino! This is no longer a fun loving experience for me. I never expected creating a family with the love of my life would be so hard.

BGDino · 09/05/2018 08:18

Glad to hear you’re going well @Looking

Had my gynae follow up today, since I’ve not had a period after my hysteroscopy/D&C hubby and I have been referred to a fertility specialist, appointment is mid June. I know it’s not the end of the line but I feel like between this and my mental illness how many more things can be wrong with me, and maybe it’s the universe telling me I’m not supposed to have a child. Was also hoping that today would mean starting some kind of treatment so we can start trying properly. But mainly I’m sad that something that was supposed to be spontaneous and natural and fun is now going to be clinical and time pressured and stressful. We’re stuck on a bus in a traffic jam in the city as I type this, can’t wait to get home so I can try to numb how I feel with a hot shower, chocolate and wine.

tl,dr; can’t ovulate, feeling sad

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/05/2018 20:47

@Pinkemi. It bothers me too. I ways feel well blue after a bfn x

Pinkemi · 08/05/2018 20:02

Yeah.. it bothers me... I get a sinky feeling in my stomach Everytime I see that negative. :-(

Spottyyellowdress · 08/05/2018 19:59

Would blocked Fallopian tubes present any symptoms? I’m worrying myself into a frenzy again this evening.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/05/2018 19:06

@Hopeislost I’m glad things are getting moving for you. I am awful at waiting. Very impatient. I think the NHS is amazing but the hoops that need jumping through for some very basic things is incredibly annoying (sitting in GP waiting room for an EPU referral which they will obviously do and EPU will obviously accept, just annoying!).

@Pinkemi I tend to test but I don’t massively mind seeing a negative. I think it depends on if it bothers you.

Hopeislost · 08/05/2018 18:09

Thanks @Bubblegum89

Bubblegum89 · 08/05/2018 17:37

Hopeislost the difference between a hsg and a hycosy is a hsg uses X-ray whereas a hycosy uses ultrasound :)

Hopeislost · 08/05/2018 16:55

Good luck @Si1ver!

I had my first fertility appointment today (finally!*) and they want more bloods from me and a HSG. Apparently it's a HSG over a hycosy as I've had abdominal surgery (appendix). Not sure what the difference between the two is! 🤔

Follow up appointment already booked for July. It took so long to get to this point but things seem to be happening! 👍

*they cancelled my original referral as they 'didn't have evidence I was entitled to NHS services'. There was a whole rigmarole where I had to provide different types of evidence before then being re-referred 🙄

Pinkemi · 08/05/2018 16:07

Realised that my FP is due on Saturday or Sunday... and now getting the urge to test! urgh.

Completely forgot where about's I was in my cycle over the weekend and drank far too many glasses of pimms! To be honest.. with the amount of stress I have been under recently.. It will be a miracle if I actually am up-duffed! I shouldn't start getting excited about it... im only putting my self up for major disappointment.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/05/2018 14:32

Lexie I’m actually shocked a doctor would say that to you. It’s been clearly proven that relaxing does not help! I’ve been told to “relax” and “be more positive” while in the middle of my 3rd consecutive miscarriage; it’s incredibly infuriating and unhelpful.

Si1ver fingers crossed for good strong embryos!

Looking I’m glad you are coping so well with the clomid.

Thanks Bubble, I’m just taking it day by day. My last miscarriage there were no signs until scan so I don’t think I’ll relax either way until I’ve got passed my surgery at 12 weeks (booked in today).

MynameisJune · 08/05/2018 14:16

@si1ver that’s fab news! Fingers crossed for Thursday

Bubblegum89 · 08/05/2018 13:56

Paranormal sorry things haven’t quite settled down yet, I’m sure it’s very worrying :( I’ll keep everything crossed that this is the one!

Lexie oh the good old “relax” 🙄 that’s a bit of a difficult one, if it was me I think I would probably just go for the IVF. If you’re ready for it then I wouldn’t postpone it. If it works and you end up feeling rubbish at work, there are lots of ways round it. Lemon sherbets and sea sickness bands are very usefu!

Looking aw bless your DH! Well fingers crossed that you push out a good’un! I’ve heard mixed reviews about clomid but it seems you’ve been fairly okay with it which is good :)

Ooh si1ver how exciting?! Keeping everything crossed for you :)

LexieJean · 08/05/2018 13:52

That’s fantastic @si1ver!

bridget33 · 08/05/2018 13:01

Good luck @Si1ver! Sounds really positive x

Si1ver · 08/05/2018 12:38

Quick update. Fertilisation results are in. Out of my six eggs five were mature and they've managed to fertilise all five of them. Next update on Thursday and transfer on Saturday. So fingers crossed that things continue to go well.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/05/2018 10:49

@Bubblegum89. I took my last pill last night. I was so anxious on the first might that I had a panic attack. I am a massive wimp with meds lol. It's not been too bad actually, a lot like being pre FP. Sometimes I will have a bit of tummy ache or wave of nausea. I've had the odd pimple too.

I feel more turned on though lol, in a different way to normal, I can't quite explain it. I have slept like a log and I'm usually an insomniac. I think the PCOS has been having more of an effect on my body than I thought.

The gynae that prescribed me said I might have hot flashes but apart from being a bit warmer than usual, it's been ok.

You're right though, the emotional side of ttc is hard. Even though I stand an actual chance of ovulating this month, at the back of my mind I keep thinking "Its not going to matter if no normal sperm reach the egg" I would never say anything to DH but it is upsetting. Most women taking reproductive drugs are hoping that there won't be too many eggs released and I'm hoping there are as at least one might bump into a good guy! Lol.

LexieJean · 08/05/2018 10:41

Congratulations @limp! What a beautiful weekend for your wedding, I hope you enjoyed your day and basked in all the attention- even if people guessed you’re pg. I hope it all continues well for you and bean 🤞
@para has your spotting stopped? How are you feeling about it now?

Bravo @si1ver that’s fantastic! 🤞 for lots of fertilisation 😳

@bubble you should defo stick around if it’s not too much like TTC.

I’m in a quandary now, don’t know whether to proceed with ivf and TTC with new job starting, imagine if the ivf works and I spend my first 3 months with morning sickness and I’m crap at the job? But imagine if I don’t RELAX cause I’m at my new job and still don’t get upduffed. And I’m nearly 36, I can’t postpone. I went to collect my thyroid results from my GP on Friday- she actually told me to relax. I just thanked her for my results copy and walked out somewhat in shock.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/05/2018 10:38

Limp congratulations! I hope you had a great day.

Bubble I’m up and down. Spotting on and off, nausea comes and goes. Doesn’t reassure me when I have it as I had awful nausea with MMC. Wish I had a sign it would all be fine this time but I just have to wait.

Bubblegum89 · 08/05/2018 10:33

looking oh I must have missed you were on clomid, how is it going? Apart from the crying haha

Bubblegum89 · 08/05/2018 10:31

Limp you looked stunning, I’m glad you had a lovely day. And I’m so happy everything is going well with your little bean, so exciting :)

Looking yeah it’s not even the physical aspect like regimented sex and opks, it’s the mental aspect as well. Spending two weeks obsessing over everything just to get upset when my period arrives, feeling horribly bitter towards everyone else who gets pregnant at the drop of a hat. If I’m not ttc then I’ll have no expectations. I’ve got a holiday booked in August and we need to get some savings together. I’m trying to keep busy doing things I wouldn’t be able to do if I was pregnant or had a newborn. But you’re right, ttc sucks and I just couldn’t be someone who ttc for years. I don’t have that kind of fight in me!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/05/2018 10:28

@Bubblegum89. I am the same with hormones. I couldn't manage the pill/implant. I'm surprised I'm doing as well as I am on clomid lol, although last night I got mad and then cried because DH had put up a bookcase and I didn't like the way it looked! Hmm Confused Grin

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/05/2018 10:25

@Bubblegum89. I don't blame you! Ttc sucks ass! We are giving it until the end of the year and then we will stop ttc naturally. We are booking a holiday to Disneyland Paris for next summer holidays and then we will make a start on IVF when we get back. I admire them but I can't be someone who ttc for years and years. It's too much.

@LimpLettice. Congratulations :-)

LimpLettice · 08/05/2018 10:20

Ah cross post Bubblegum. Hopefully you can just forget it for a bit and relax.

LimpLettice · 08/05/2018 10:20

Thread fell off my watched list.

Congrats to you LG93!

Bubblegum I am sorry you have gotten to this point. Did you make a decision about IVF later in the year or are you leaving it til after your holiday?

Wedding was absolutely perfect. I am getting a bit fat already, so it was a fair giveaway - the cat is out of the bag. Dating scan not until next week at nearly 13 weeks, so a little worried about people knowing but it was so blinking obvious.
