Hi bubble 👋 I thought you got a bit of a surge on your opks this month? Just not as long a window as you’ve previously had? That would still indicate ov?

So I know I’m not ttc anymore but I’m still a bit pissed off. I had a look and apparently today is cd28 so my period should be here. Except it isn’t. With that and not getting a positive opk AGAIN this month, I assume I didn’t ovulate. I know it’s fairly normal for some women to have maybe one anovulatory cycle a year but two in a row? Does that seem right? I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning to the fertility doctor to see what they say even though from this point, we’re not actually ttc right now. Just found it a bit odd that the only time I’ve been late for my period was back in September last year but I know I ovulated that month because it was the same month I had all my blood tests done and then suddenly I’ve gone from always getting 1-2 days worth of positive opks to getting none and having two late periods in a row. Kind of glad I’m stopping ttc, can’t cope with this kind of stress lol

Star your hubby sounds like a dream! Chuffed it isn't his fault, sorry but 3% morphology doesn't rule him out in any way. You'll be allowed pets! What a consolation.

Cd15 here. No positive on the good old clearblue yet (I hate those sticks!) I have a decent amount of watery cm and sensitive nips though. My mood is very wavy and I literally well up at adverts - there is one for Disney World that starts off with a little girl saying "Think of the happiest things, it's the same as having wings..." (from Peter Pan) - I am seriously welling up typing about it! Clomid has turned me into a right weeping willow LOL.

@Bubblegum89 and @limplettice Yeah it's shit. I'm still a little shell shocked. I can't believe she wrote all of that stuff and that she said that she accepts not seeing her grandchildren again. I would be mortified if I thought I couldn't see my grandchildren (If I had grandchildren lol)

@LexieJean I want to give it time first as I only had endometriosis surgery last month and I'm holding out hope. Not much though 😼

@bridget33 Mine took about 6 months from referral but it took longer as I had to prove that I was British first!

I wish they'd call 'day 21' blood tests something else. I had an argument with a nurse yesterday who initially refused to do mine when I told her it was cd30. Literally had to explain in detail what the test is for and what my cycles are like before she agreed to do it 😡

@bridget the time scales do seem to vary, we had to wait 12months before getting our referral to fertility clinic then we were lucky all our investigations got done in about 3-4 months. Not so lucky as in the ‘unexplained infertility’ camp.

I’m all for a healthy lifestyle and have tried to be good with food, exercise and my supplements. And I’m still having acupuncture so spending a bloody fortune TTC. The only thing I feel now @bridget is that reducing my alcohol and coffee was really tough but hasn’t miraculously gotten me upduffed. And so I’ve relaxed a bit and am trying to actually live whilst TTC. But then I’m nearly 2 years in and 20 something cycles gone so I hope you don’t get to this stage!!

Oh @star this sounds horrible for you. Have you had a second opinion? Surely as 35 is so young for menopause they can investigate further. God I can’t imagine how frustrating that is. How do blood tests even show that to be the case? I really feel like you should get some further advice, if it’s just a really low AMH level then some fertility clinics can help with that if it’s an option for you. Sending you a big hug (and some tissues!) 💐

@LexieJean I have no idea. My fertility consultant said my blood results after surgery came back saying I was late menopause and he couldn't treat me anymore. So now at 35 I have to accept that I'm an old lady and left it too late to conceive. Also I have to live with pointless periods to torture me because they have no purpose.

My DH won't adopt and won't consider other options (it was originally both our faults as he has a bad diet and lifestyle that means 3% normal morphology but now he's chuffed it's my fault not his). He's said he will let me have some pets though.

As today is crampy and last night I had pink tinge (no more yet 🤞🏻) I'm counting myself out at 24days and I'm sat at work crying!

@bridget33 we started ttc in March 2015 and I had my first appointment to ask for help in April 2016 because it had been a year. The first consultant appt was issued for January 2017 and I only had a few blood tests until they did surgery April 2018. So it's a looooooong process in some places but probably quicker in others. Mine is Nhs though so private will be better if you can afford it.

Quick question, I have been referred to fertility services (which I'm terrified pleased about considering we haven't been trying for a year yet) and was wondering how long it took everyone else to get their first appointment? Thanks yammers x

FP arrived yesterday a day early. Am now on cycle nine/ ten - can't remember. I am now educating myself with the book 'it all starts with the egg' which is quite interesting actually. I like evidence based stuff which this seems to be. Have just come back from Spain (again!) and have had a lot of thoughts about my lifestyle. I have put on two stone since getting married and I drink way too much. I really want to be healthier because if we do need ivf, at least I'm giving us the best shot, plus none of my clothes fit and I can't afford a new wardrobe!

I don’t get it @star how can you be menopausal but still be menstrating?

Hey guys. So even though I've been told I'm menopausal at 35 it doesn't stop my FP coming like clockwork. Yesterday was cd23 and had tiny pink spotting last night and a bit of cramps today. Even though I know we won't have more children I still feel the disappointment. I wonder if there's a way to stop my periods completely because it's like a cruel reminder that I can't conceive.

@LexieJean I'd never wish anything bad for anyone having a baby. Except I hope my new nice/nephew is a little horror and causes his/her father grief no end. Like a stroppy little bugger that doesn't listen and won't follow instructions!

On the subject of MY brother they were trying for a month when they fell pregnant. Maybe I should start smoking weed all day and eating kfc every night. Oh and drink loads of beer and never exercise. That seems to be the key and clearly my clean living is what's preventing us ttc.

If my niece/nephew IS a stroppy monster it'll take after me 😂

OMG @looking I can’t believe your MIL!! I really wonder what planet some people come from. I must remember to be more patient the next time I feel like my MIL is interfering and be grateful that she’s not a Beast in Law!

Also I’ve had hearing loss since birth, have a friend who’s little boy has hearing loss and she often asks me for advice etc so please feel free to pm me too. Defo a light touch and talking face to face will help, even if you can’t actually lip read it’s sooooo much easier to hear if someone is facing me.

And as for the baby bombs- sucky at the best of times but it sounds like brothers everywhere should not be allowed to procreate!!

Er. I had fallen off thread again. Looking that is literally shit. What a horrible, manipulative, narcy COW your MIL is. And I say that as someone who spent years as the DIL to the most evil woman in the home counties. Put it in the bin and never talk to her again. My DD had hearing loss until she was about 5 (undiagnosed / mistreated glue ear) which was resolved, but we did most of the same things, and she caught up again very quickly once it was sorted.

Sorry for the baby bombs too. I too have that brother - leaps head first in to a bucket of shit, blames everyone else and then waits for the parents to bail him out, mop him up and pay for the damage. Still, at nearly 40. I refused to have him at our wedding and DPs were furious with me, until his latest outburst where they basically said ah, we get it. Him and his partner don't have kids, so no baby bombs from them but I probably would have committed hari kari if there had been while TTC.

@WonkyDonk87. She's a whack job! DH has told me before that she was like it when he lived at home, picking fights and being callous for no reason. I think DH is hurt but not surprised. I hate it when people say things about you or your personality etc because even though you know it isn't true, you start to doubt yourself.

Oh man @LookingAtTheStars89 - just read your post about your Beast-In-Law. What a joke. Couldn't even come to you in the first place, sent her DH, then wrote letters? Ugh. She had an opportunity to repair the relationship and chose not to. Clearly not that interested/committed to fixing things then, was she? How's your DH?
Hope things improve for your DD soon, how serendipitous you've got Sooz on hand for advice (props to you for doing the BSL btw Sooz, I could only ever manage a handful of Makaton!)

@SoozC. Ahhh thank you :-) I will bear that in mind. I will see what the audiologist says first and go from there. I'm going to reiterate to her teacher tomorrow that she has to make listening easy for DD by letting her sit near the front and looking at her when she's talking to her. The GP said that's what I should be doing for now so that's what I will do.

I've tried to make small adjustments - I speak louder and in a slightly lower tone so my words are more obvious. I've started to touch her arm lightly so that she knows I want her attention and make eye contact when I'm talking.

My DH can be a bit of a mumbler and my big DD can talk really fast so I've talked to them about it too. I've explained to DD that she's going to see a special ear doctor who will help but and it's going to be ok because I will be there all the time.

Man today has been tough!
