New thread:

The Good, The Bad and The Yams!www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3264778-The-Good-The-Bad-and-The-Yams

Thanks @LookingAtTheStars89 !

Love Yam Fam @bridget33 ! Need to remember it for next thread (but obvs we'll not be here then, hopefully!)

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 18:21

Loads of good yam puns @bridget let’s hope we don’t need them all!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 18:10

@bridget33. Lol at Yam Fam 😂😂

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 18:09

Done and done ladies :-)

bridget33 · 31/05/2018 17:57

Ha! I'm too late. Was getting into yam puns as well.

bridget33 · 31/05/2018 17:55

Wham bam, all we need is a yam! Or The Yam Fam! Or Yes I yam! Or Oh dam, if only I'd know about the yam!

Chooklass · 31/05/2018 17:52

Perfect! Kind of sums us up @LookingAtTheStars89 ! Do you want to do the honours?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 17:35

What about "The Good, The Bad and The Yams"?

Chooklass · 31/05/2018 16:52

We need a new thread really soon! Anyone got any yammy title suggestions?! I can't think of anything!

HidCat · 31/05/2018 16:32

@LookingAtTheStars89 that's great news! Loving the scenery changes too lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 15:57

@LexieJean. Ha ha! Gold stars all round! 😂

@TheDayDreamBeliever. It can get hard to keep the spark, sometimes we just have quickies to change it up a bit. Sometimes we'll do it in the living room or kitchen Wink for a change of scenery lol.

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 15:20

Woohoo @looking! So happy the clomid has worked for you! I can’t believe how much shagging you’ve done- what troopers!! 👊

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 15:14

I honestly can say no offence at all but sex whilst TTC was the dullest ever. It was like right I need you to be ready, (this was when I believed the CD14 stuff before OPK's) which was lucky as it turns out I ovulate CD19/20, our last cycle when PFB was conceived, DH decided he needed a lads weekend, I was all ready for divorcing him I couldn't believe he'd be so selfish.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 15:13

@Si1ver. It's hard if you have times when you're either really tired or really not in the mood! I'm glad I didn't allow my gynae's instructions of days 12,14 and 16 as we would have completely missed it!

Si1ver · 31/05/2018 14:59

Jesus Christ! You must be a) exhausted and b) a bit numb

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 14:53

Ah thanks ladies. Just got to hope now that one of DH's normal sperm found the egg! I don't want to get my hopes up too much as I know our chances are lower. We've covered it sex wise though like troopers - every other day since cd5 until cd29! I'm not going to lie, I will be glad to have a bit of a break!

WonkyDonk87 · 31/05/2018 14:46

Brilliant news @LookingAtTheStars89 Well done ovaries!!!!

Si1ver · 31/05/2018 14:42

Yay!! Well done @LookingAtTheStars89 \o/

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 14:19

They found my results and they were 31.7!! I OVULATED!! It took me about 22 days lol but I bloody ovulated!! I could sit and cry lol

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 13:45

Oh no @looking that is so annoying!!! 🤬🤬

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 12:45

I know it's possibly not advocated but I emailed a multiple miscarriage specialist, I was seen by her clinic with no referral, had a batch of tests & HSG done on NHS. They would have even done the semen analysis for free.

I got 2 consults basically for free, then was told anything else would incur a charge. This woman pioneered NK cell testing for £150 which is money well spent I'd say before going down the IVF route.

I did learn a lot about my bloods and how certain things could affect my fertility never mind carrying a baby.

The clinic is in the Midlands & they're oh so lovely, plus it's easy to get to by motorways. Just a bit of a bugger post HSG, the guy that did it was great and was explaining it all to me, I reached a point pain wise where I had to say please can you just tell me after this is killing me.

Is it me or do you think that gas and air would be nice during HSG's, considering they dilate a balloon full of water in your womb. I took paracetamol and ibropufen as advised, but it had zilch effect.

Also did anyone have a HSG where they couldn't check a tubes latency due to it being obstructed by bowel? Wondering whether maybe you should do an enema before hand if that is common.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 12:25

I sent it special next day and it cost me £6.50!!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 12:25

SCREAMS. For God's sake. I just phoned the lab for my blood results and they reckon they haven't even received it yet! I just phoned my local post office and they are going to look into it. Man I'm going to be pissed if they've lost it! Without that I will have no idea if I ovulated or not! Angry Angry

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 12:22

Well @bridget if you have a clinic in mind you could ask them which tests they’d recommend? I had an HSG and day 21 bloods will asses your Amh.

Will going private for the tests help? If everything is clear/normal and you join the unexplained infertility club (of which I’m a member!) won’t you still have to wait for an nhs referral? I’m just wondering if spending all that £££ will really speed things up?

bridget33 · 31/05/2018 11:52

Thanks @LexieJean. I've just realised I spelt hi yammers wrong! We have had the SA (we are just waiting for the second results) and I've had blood tests and an ultrasound. I'm just wondering what the next stage would be...would it be a vaginal ultrasound and a lap and dye test next? I have also read about an AMH test to check egg count. I just wonder if I should wait or just crack on with a private consultation (funds allowing).
