@ek78
I went for medical management this time- it was quite gross and horrible, and then I needed the ERPC after all anyway 🙄
There is a thread on NM which is called something like - the practicalities of dealing with miscarriages- and it was really so helpful- gave me a really good idea what to expect, I don't know how to share the link of it here? But if you can't find it I will try and figure it out

zarala · 26/03/2018 14:04

To check my hormones - not my mum's! Sorry autocorrect

With regards to time off work I would definitely ask for that too- it's not unreasonable at all!

strawberrye · 26/03/2018 14:03

@Primrose16 good luck, I often find honesty is the best policy

@ek78 so sorry to hear about your loss, that's so horrible and unfair. Hope you have lots of support in real life

@brodiee welcome and sorry you have found yourself here - it's a really nice group who I'm sure you'll get some comfort from

ek78 · 26/03/2018 14:01

Thanks @daisymay25 @zarala and @primrose15. Lovely to get those messages. Not a daft question at all Primrose. I’m quite shocked, even though it’s been on my mind the whole time after my last pregnancy ended the same way. Last time the mc kicked in as soon as I had the scan but this time the bleeding started and then stopped. Ive rang the EPAU and a nurse is ringing me back soon. I think i’ll try and get medical management to get it over and done with. The limbo stage is just awful.

zarala · 26/03/2018 13:52

@Primrose16
I just got teary and told my gp I've been really suffering from anxiety (even though I haven't) and play the age card 35+ and just insist you want at least blood tests done-

My gp was really resistant and then said well you won't qualify for IVF until you've had 3 MCs - I told her I didn't want IVF I just wanted to check mum hormones and thyroid - and I insisted that I am 36 this year and my mum couldn't conceive after 37 and I've been having anxiety attacks etc

Anyway I haven't managed yet to test my hormones yet - but just see how it goes!

Good luck and keep us posted xx

zarala · 26/03/2018 13:46

@ek78 I am so so sorry
It's just such a punch in the gut isn't it? It's the worst.
Sending you hugs right now.

Primrose16 · 26/03/2018 13:45

I a GP appointment at 3:20 today. Im a little nervous what to say- well how to say it. I feel I need a few weeks off work. I support vulnerable families and think I need to make sure that I’m right so that I can support others. Then there’s the asking for support after my second mc this year. I’m hoping they say yes but a feeling it will be a no. I don’t know what I will do if they say no. I will either cry or get arsey!

Primrose16 · 26/03/2018 13:41

@ek78 oh I am so so sorry. That’s horrible, and so unfair. How are you- I know a daft question.

DaisyMay25 · 26/03/2018 13:28

I remember you @ek78 I'm so so sorry for what's happened. Rest up and take care of yourself Thanks

ek78 · 26/03/2018 13:21

Hello ladies, some of you might remember me from the last thread? I got my bfp in Feb but sad to say I found out yesterday that I’d had another mmc (at 10w2 measuring 6w and no heartbeat). I’m devastated and while not ttc - just sat at home waiting for the inevitable- wanted to check back in...

brodiee · 26/03/2018 12:06

@ApplesTheHare @Cakelaur thank you. It was my second pregnancy. I have a DS.

Cakelaur · 26/03/2018 11:38

@Claire138 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 🤺

Claire138 · 26/03/2018 10:41

Most definitely @cakelaur I will not be wasting FW! Might just need to be more ninja like though 😂

Cakelaur · 26/03/2018 10:28

@Claire138 either go out with them, get DH drunk and pounce on him. OR send your guest out and pounce on DH!! Haha! Where there's a will there's a way!! 👍🏻

Claire138 · 26/03/2018 10:24

Sorry @hayleyfx the tests are lighter. Good timing to get away to the sun and stock up on some vit d! Hope you have a good time!

Welcome @mrsmac1489 and @brodiee sorry you guys find yourselves here.

@dulwichdays good luck!! TWW is the worst!! Hold tight 🤞

@cakelaur love a puppy update!! Won’t be long till you have him home with you?

AF is here and I’ve worked out I should be ovulating smack bang in the middle of my sister, BIL and niece staying with us 🙄

Cakelaur · 26/03/2018 10:22

@clairehr my stepson is away on holiday at the mo with his mum. So we've have an awesome FW! Haha. Every little helps!

@ApplesTheHare he comes home in 18 days!!! I am literally not even bothered about getting pregnant I'm so excited!!!

@MrsMac1489 so sorry yours struggling. How long are your usual cycles? How long since mc? I'm on cycle 3 since and it's only JUST seeming to be back to normal. same goes for hormones. I feel a bit more stable this month. Stay strong. Being a midwife must be hard in this situation. Sending hugs.

@HidCat 🤞🏻now you have your bfn you get AF soon. I ovulated a week after my bfn and AF 10 days after that.

@DaisyMay25 honestly it was the best day of my life seeing him! His personality is really starting to show. I've never given birth and held my baby... but if holding my puppy was this amazing I can't wait!! Haha sending puppy cuddles your way!

Welcome @brodiee sorry you find yourself here. Was it your first pregnancy?

ApplesTheHare · 26/03/2018 10:08

@MrsMac1489 you are definitely not wallowing. I'm amazed you're so positive, especially for the families you're supporting. I'm in a similar position to you having had af come since the MC (in October!) but then I've had nothing since late Jan. I feel like my body really needs to come on now and I don't feel like we can properly try again until things are back to normal. I'm seeing the GP on Weds and will let you know if she says anything interesting about ongoing irregular cycles.

Welcome Brodiee and sorry you're going through this too Flowers

brodiee · 26/03/2018 09:18

Thanks dulwichdays xx

dulwichdays · 26/03/2018 09:16

@Brodiee welcome, although I’m sorry you’re here. I hope you find this thread as useful as I have x

brodiee · 26/03/2018 09:14

Is it ok to join? Had a miscarriage earlier this month. Trying again now.

dulwichdays · 26/03/2018 09:08

@MrsMac1489 you are most definitely not wallowing. It’s so tough and I found that I needed my AF following the MC for closure and to know that I was ready to start again. I was about 5 days later than my pre-MC cycle and I’d managed to convince myself I was pregnant 😳....!

I’m a Physio and shortly after going back to work I had a pregnant client who had my exact due date. Not really sure how I managed to hold it all together - but I felt stronger for doing so.

I’m still holding on in my TWW, expecting my period anyday this week. But of course could be longer still. I’m hoping that the longest I’ll have to wait is day 33 which is what my cycle was last month. I’ve told myself that if it’s not here by the weekend I’ll test. Trying hard not to symptom spot, google estimated due dates and resisting the urge to convince myself I’m pregnant. Wish me luck!!

DaisyMay25 · 26/03/2018 09:05

@strawberrye I just looked back for you and my fourth one was 54 days long, my doctor assured me it was normal after mc though unfortunately, I know hearing that doesn't make it any easier though

MrsMac1489 · 26/03/2018 09:01

@HidCat @clairehr My work pals and are amazing. So supportive and so many of them have faced loss themselves. I know it makes me a better midwife when caring for bereaved families because now I can empathise with the women experiencing loss. I'm extremely lucky to be part of their stories.

I had a period last month, so we carried on trying this month. Feels like we're going backwards. It's devastating. Thanks for your support girls. Xxx

DaisyMay25 · 26/03/2018 08:57

@Cakelaur your puppy is just too much, I just wanna cuddle him!

strawberrye · 26/03/2018 08:55

@MrsMac1489 sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it, that sounds really tough. I work on healthcare too and it's really tough being surrounded by pregnant women and young babies. Being a midwife must be so so hard when going through this. I don't have any useful advice but just wanted to send my hugs and best wishes.
