Laney79 so sorry you're going through this, and in your first pregnancy too Flowers

I'm no expert but every doctor I saw recommend leaving things to happen naturally if possible. I had to wait a couple of weeks for bleeding to start after the scan before they'd even consider any intervention (local NHS trust rules), and it felt like an eternity at the time but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't have either of the medical options. Of course I totally understand those who have gone for d&cs, etc., straight away. There were days when I was just desperate for it to be over and done with. In terms of ttc, getting healthy and reducing stress are priorities so if you suffer with medical procedures and involvement anyway it sounds like non-medical approach will probably leave you in the best place to ttc again straight away. Obviously we can't always choose though. I hope you have some progress either way soon and get out of limbo so you can get back to TTC.

Laney79 · 27/03/2018 17:48

Hello ladies. Early joiner here. I'm currently in MMC limbo waiting and hoping my little bean makes its own way out of my body before my scan a week tomorrow (had a private scan which didn't look good then 1st EPAU scan 2 days later showed the same -bean measuring 3.1mm so 5-6 weeks, no heartbeat and no blood flow-I should've been almost 9 weeks by then-they say its 95% certain but have to wait 2 weeks before they'll confirm Sad).

But as soon as this nightmare is over me and my fella want to try again. Time is against us-I'll be 39 in July and this was/is my first pregnancy. So if bean doesn't take the natural route by next weds would you recommend I stick with expectant mgmt? Or opt for the pills? In terms of keeping my baby making bits in tip top condition (as much as they can at my age) is there one that's better in your experience?

I'm not coping well at the moment mentally with the wait-but a lot of that is to do with my medical phobia and the fear of what I'll be faced with if things don't happen naturally. I desperately want to avoid hospital as much as possible, and find invasive/internal procedures pretty traumatic.

And any other advice to help me when I can get back on the TTC bandwagon? At my age I need all the help I can get. Thankyou xx

@DaisyMay25 haha yep! Don't mind it at all. The seeds are going well. Very much a part of the morning routine now and last month my cycle went from 33 days to 30 so I was pretty stoked!

DaisyMay25 · 27/03/2018 16:04

@Cakelaur hopefully I don't have to pay that out, I'm hoping it's any easy fix.. also in regards to temping do you have to wake up the same time everyday? This is the reason I haven't started, done day for work I have to get up at 3:30am and other day not too much later do it wouldn't be accurate? I've got everything crossed for you this month!

@Claire138 I think they can do a blood test at CD21 to see if ovulation has happened, might ask about it

@Boboelephant you like the core? You're crazy haha how're you getting on with your seeds anyway?

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 27/03/2018 15:34

@beck1988 I have 2 children age 3 and 5 one of each.
@cakealur I'm going to get a bbt thermometer I think and try and track what my cycle is as not really sure but you've explained it well there. I gave in and ordered ovulation tests this morning so it's all good here ? Not sure could manage 8 days in a row though !

Claire138 · 27/03/2018 15:13

@boboelephant I think the seeds you take pre-ovulation are similar to evening primrose oil (omega 6). I’ll give it a whirl this month and see if I notice any changes.

@ek78 I hope you won’t have to suffer long 💐

ek78 · 27/03/2018 14:54

@claire138 she said to go back a week on fri. Hopefully will be over by then anyway...

Boboelephant · 27/03/2018 13:05

Haha I actually don't mind the pineapple core!
Thanks @Cakelaur. 👍 Well done on your marathon. It's funny how different the boys can be. My DH would think 8 days in a row was all his dreams come true! Hopefully you don't need to do it again next month and this has done the trick.
@dulwichdays sorry af got you but at least your cycles are back to normal. Fx for next month.
@ek78 I'm glad the nurse was helpful. Hope it's all over soon for you.
@DaisyMay25 sorry to hear you might not have ovulated. Hope you get some answers at the GP.
@Claire138 I don't take that sorry. I take the seven seas vitamin and just started cod liver oil tablets. And my seeds for regulating hormones/Cycle.

Claire138 · 27/03/2018 13:04

@daisymay25 sorry, I remember you have mentioned about those pains before. I hope they are able to help you. It’s good they are testing for all sorts...might give you a bit more trust in your body. Let us know how they go. I also worry about ovulation...I wish there was a sure way to know when/if you ovulated.

@cakelaur I suppose like all these things we just have to give it a whirl.

Cakelaur · 27/03/2018 13:02

@DaisyMay25 I weirdly had lower back and pelvic pain constantly. Ended up going to the chiropractor who said the pregnancy and mmc had caused havoc in my ligaments. £500 later and I'm started to feel better!! Not sure if that's helpful, but it's something to think about if the Drs say they can't find anything. And yes 8 days! Tell me about it!! Haha! This month has GOT to be the month. Cos I think we're gonna need a month off to recover! 🤣😂

DaisyMay25 · 27/03/2018 12:46

@Claire138 they're not testing for that yet, sorry didn't explain probably. I've got unknown pains in my pelvis and lower back so they're doing tests for everything. I don't think I've ovulated because I've had no symptoms, I always get sore boobs but nothing this month so I'm gonna bring it up on Thursday.

@Cakelaur 8 times?! That's crazy!! Hopefully this month all your hard work has paid off!

Cakelaur · 27/03/2018 12:42

@zarala so bbt. Basic rules.
Take your temp (with a .2 decimal point bbt thermometer) every morning before you get out of bed or do anything. Same time each day.
Pre ov is lower some people get a dip just before ov, but some don't. So it can't predict ov. But it confirms ov.
Opks can be used in conjunction with, which can predict ov. As can cervix position and cervical mucus (both with you can track along side)
Once you have 3 temps in a row, higher than the last 6 then you have confirmed ovulation. You LP should be between 10-14 days. You count the first day of temp shift as 1dpo.
Your temps can jump around a little but you want to see a general low before ov and high after ov.
If your temps stay high for 18days it's assumed you're pregnant.
You can have temp drop at implantation or you may not. And generally as AF arrives you'll see your temp either drop gradually or plummet.

But having said this... every one is different there are of course the odd exception to every rule. Some people love it some people don't get on with it. It works for me as I like to see things and monitor each cycle.

Sorry for such a long post! 🙈

Sorry about AF @dulwichdays but like you said. Your cycle is back to normal. I feel the same this month if I don't get bfp, at least my cycle seems normal again.

@DaisyMay25 Fingers crossed for positive results from the Drs. Although my dr did say she'd expect me to only ovulate 8 times a year out of 12!!! I was like WTF?!? Haha. I'm 33 though.

@Claire138 I tried EPO from cd1-ovulation for a couple of month. Didn't notice much. But gave up after two months, stopped taking it and then got my bfp. Who knows if it was coincidence or not. I'll prob add that to the list of things to take next month again if no bfp this month.

Claire138 · 27/03/2018 12:25

@daisymay25 how do you know you haven’t ovulated? If you don’t mind me asking, what tests are they doing?

Claire138 · 27/03/2018 12:23

@dulwichdays glad your cycle is back into the swing of things, but sorry this wasn’t your month. 🤞for next month!

@ek78 glad it went as well as it could. Do you know how long you have to wait before they will see you again? Hope you’re feeling ok.

I think it’s been mentioned before on here, but does anyone take evening primrose oil? I’m thinking about taking it but would like to hear about others experiences first.

DaisyMay25 · 27/03/2018 12:21

@Cakelaur I tried eating the core too but just couldn't and I love pineapple! 8 in a row is crazy, I can't even manage every other day!

I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate this month, back at the doctors for results on Thursday, then probably for some different tests!

ek78 · 27/03/2018 12:11

@unicornsandrainbows After saying on the phone they would rescan they accepted the private scan. The nurse said sometimes private scans come with very little in the way of notes but mine was ok. So, as expected sent home to wait it out and back there if nature doesn’t take its course. The Nurse was AMAZING. I felt like she understood the loss and was encouraging about trying again while also being realistic. So, it went as well as that kind of appointment could’ve gone really.

dulwichdays · 27/03/2018 11:44

And like that AF arrives, the positive that I’m back to my 28/29 day cycle of pre-MC

zarala · 27/03/2018 11:35

@Cakelaur well done on the marathon!
I have never done Bbt- how does it work?
When temperature dips that's a sign you're about to ovulate? Sorry I'm so amateur here

Claire138 · 27/03/2018 10:09

@dulwichdays I find I go crazy in the TWW! The other 2 weeks of my cycle I seem to have it kind of together but those last 2 weeks...
@cakelaur well done!! My DH and I dtd every other day around FW and only 2 in a row when I’m pretty sure I’m about to ovulate and by the end of that we are tired of it. So unromantic but you gotta do what you gotta do 😂

Cakelaur · 27/03/2018 09:50

So for the record... pineapple core is GROSS!
@Boboelephant I've attached my chart for you.
Think we're only gonna manage tonight then stop. Cos tomorrow I'm working late. But 8 in a row isn't too bad. My poor OH... I think he's not looking forward to next month. 🙈

Boboelephant · 27/03/2018 08:28

@dulwichdays I do. Can't stop my stupid mind rabbiting on! Fingers crossed for you.
@Cakelaur well done!!! 8 days on the trot. I'm super impressed! Although I imagine you're walking like a cow girl! 😂 CD11 here and just starting the marathon. If I'm the same as last month I should ovulate on Monday but it might be sooner as all the symptoms are starting already. We'll see. I've just started bbt tracking but I keep waking up thinking I have to do it and it's only 2am! @cake would you mind putting your chart up so I can have a look?

Cakelaur · 27/03/2018 08:17

Morning every one. Cd15 ....Day 8 of the marathon here! Slightly bored of DTD, haha. It's turned into a military operation the last couple nights. Where both of us are knackered. But hey ho. Two more to go. Then I can just sleep. Pretty sure O happened yesterday or Sunday. Af of bfp due around 7/8th april. Anyone else in the same time frame?

dulwichdays · 27/03/2018 07:54

I woke up this morning with such a desire to test. I didn’t, but it took all my will power. I stuck between thinking I’m pregnant and thinking that’s ridiculous because it’s so unlikely (despite dtd) after MC and I’m just not one of those lucky ones. I’ve told myself I’ll wait until the weekend to test because last month I had a 33 day cycle....it’s going to be a long week!

Does anyone else get stuck with these internal dialogues all day??

Beck1988 · 27/03/2018 07:18

Welcome @lovewine, I also had miscarriage in Feb. Finished af end of last week so hopefully ovulating Easter weekend! Order some opks yesterday so will be testing as soon as they arrive! How many kids do u already have? I have one girl. Good luck trying again 🌈🤞

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 26/03/2018 23:10
