Thread 6... 😑

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Thanks for the blog link @chooklass it’s my new favourite thing!

Put my foot right in it with a friend last night moaning about bloody baby showers and that they’re a crappy American import I don’t believe in and if she ever has one I won’t attend (we were already a bottle of wine in) and then she told me she’s organising her SIL’s baby shower and has made the most adorable invitations. I am a horrible person and TTC is making me worse.

Bubblegum89 · 14/04/2018 11:10

Sorry for fp showing up cariad you never know, your HyCoSy might help, I’ve seen so many women say they got pregnant soon after one. Also they’re not as bad as people make out!

So fp is due for me tomorrow or possibly Monday. I woke up at 6am this morning and the first thought that came into my head was “I think I’m pregnant” how sad is that 😂 my brain has somehow conditioned itself to be a complete and utter moron. I’m getting cramps anyway so I think fp will be here in the morning. I’m thinking if there’s anything I can try next cycle. I literally only do opks and have sex, I feel like I should be doing more

@cariad sorry fp arrived, we can be off the squad together this month. Hope the HyCoSy goes okay for you.

Paranormalbouquet · 14/04/2018 10:31

@Cariad2017 I’m sorry about FP. Maybe give it a few months after hycosy to see if it clears anything? I don’t think you should go into IVF unless you are properly prepared as you say.

My FP hasn’t appeared yet. Always have a 28-29 day cycle. I thought I ovulated Saturday 2 weeks ago as did FF until it changed its mind a few days later to the Monday. So I think my cycles might still be a bit off after miscarriage.

In other horrible news I have thrush. Again. Flared up during my 5 weeks of antibiotics after miscarriage/wisdom tooth infection and have treated it 3 times with no avail. Going to treat DH as I don’t think condoms do much to prevent spreading thrush, and try the pessaries as tablets not working. It’s driving me mad, and the mini heatwave due next week will not help!

Cariad2017 · 14/04/2018 10:06

Morning all. AF is here (as predicted) slamming the door on Cycle 20 (yawn). Like Mynameis I fear that unlike the usual subs bench experience on the ttc front, I’m not even going to be on the squad list for next cycle as I’m having a HyCoSy on CD13 (which may well be ovulation day)...

Feeling very numb about it all. I’ve long given up believing it might happen. We’d planned to take the plunge with IVF in June/ July but I’m not convinced I’m in the right frame of mind for it, as I genuinely can’t imagine anything working right now... Spending circa £10k on something you’re fairly confident is going to fail feels like a huge gamble/ waste of energy...

If you’re still accepting newcomers to the FB group, I’d love to join, just let me know what I need to do...

LookingAtTheStars89 · 14/04/2018 09:13

@justmeonly. I have had that many doctors/nurses look at my flesh that it doesn't bother me lol. I just wear a normal top. They usually give you some kind of sheet or something to cover you up. I HATE the bloody tissue sheet that they make you lay on though, I always end up tearing it when I get on the couch thing!

FairyAnn · 14/04/2018 08:03

Loving that Honestly Infertile blog! Very funny 😄

Chooklass · 14/04/2018 07:50

@justmeonly I wear that just for easiness! You're right though, when you've multiple people staring in your foof it seems pointless worrying about what to wear!

So FP arrived late last night (clots an' all)... but no sign this morning??!! So maybe a false start, which explains lack of pain. Weird! Too heavy and late to be IB (if that even exists). So looks like I'm still waiting.

Paranormalbouquet · 14/04/2018 06:51

@justmeonly I thinkits habit more than modesty to be honest, and a desire to be dressed asap afterwards.

justmeonly · 14/04/2018 00:25

*fairly

Although “fairy prudish” has a ring to it. Might even get to wear a pair of wings and wave a magic wand!

justmeonly · 14/04/2018 00:22

Am I the only one who doesn’t bother with the dress and leggings combo?! As a general rule, I’m fairy prudish, but I figure if they’re about to start poking around there, then there’s no modesty to be had! I just strip the lower half. But I do tend to wear a cosy hoody/jumper so my top half can forget what’s going on. Yeah, ok, I’m obvs a bit strange...

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/04/2018 22:37

@Chooklass. Ha Ha! I had a colonoscopy not so long ago and I remember saying to the doctor doing it "Wow, it's really clean in there" slaps head I genuinely found it interesting though.

@Paranormalbouquet. I had quite a few of them look up there during/after my MC and then I had a smear a few weeks ago so I'm prepared lol I just don't like it. I don't think I tense up as much as I used to though. DH's sleep apnea pretty much means that once he's asleep he's pretty much in a coma lol.

Paranormalbouquet · 13/04/2018 22:26

@FairyAnn I’ve been catching up on classic x-files too. They were brilliant! Spent this evening making my own masterchef worthy meal (in my dreams!) and drinking wine while watching the finals.

@Justwaitingforaline glad you are eating yams. Can’t believe you haven’t tried them yet.

@WonkyDonk87 acupuncture doesn’t hurt, it’s meant to be relaxing!

@Chooklass sorry FP arrived, glad it’s not painful at least.

@LookingAtTheStars89 I’d wake him up. Although my DH is generally up for it. Possibly because I’ve actually paradoxically spent most of the last 6 months pregnant/miscarrying, and because of my useless cervix can’t have sex pregnant. Last miscarriage had 6 weeks of bleeding so there was no sex then, followed by a depression and complete loss of libido for me.

I’ve seen lots of gynaecologists in the last year, they generally want to take a look! I have my vaginal exam outfit now- an old loose short dress which is perfect over leggings. Leggings off, dress stays on. I can pretend to have some modesty (even though I don’t care anymore, think all of London has taken a look!).

@LexieJean I also find weddings a pain to buy for. Have 2 this summer but at bridesmaid at one so at least outfit is picked.

FP due in the morning I think, although FF puts me at 12 dpo. Will be interesting to see who’s right!

Chooklass · 13/04/2018 22:17

@LookingAtTheStars89 I'm nervous about the vag cam!! Hope I get to see the screen though - I've never seen the inside of myself before! (Apart from ultrasound but that looks all spacey and unreal!)

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/04/2018 22:14

@Chooklass. There's no way he's waking up!!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/04/2018 22:13

@Chooklass. God I'd love some chocolate right now :-( I have a gynae appointment on the 30th, so about two weeks time. I hope they don't want to put any cameras up there because I get major white coat syndrome lol. I have had open chest surgery but freak out about a vag cam! Confused Grin

Chooklass · 13/04/2018 22:00

My skin has been loads better too @LookingAtTheStars89 ! All points towards the diet starting to work, hopefully. (Still allowing myself a treat day when I get FP though... )

I've got my appt dates for a hysteroscopy in May, and hycosy in June now - have you got any further appts for pcos coming up? X

(Hope your dp wakes up!)

WonkyDonk87 · 13/04/2018 21:56

Gah! Looking that's very very annoying. No point waking him - post slumber DHs are useless at being roused for shagging. Pop on channel5Star - terrible Hercules film but you can ogle the nekked men 😉

Sorry for FP Chook enjoy your wine x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/04/2018 21:53

@Chooklass. Mine was almost completely cramp free last time :-) I don't think my skin has been as oily/spotty either.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/04/2018 21:52

God I'm so annoyed - I'm trying not to be but I am! DH and I had pencilled in sex - that looks more blunt written down than in my head lol but he's been bloody asleep on the sofa for the last three hours!! I doubt he will wake up now and not only will we not have sex but I will spend the evening on my own AngrySad

Chooklass · 13/04/2018 21:48

So FP arrived. No cramps though, which is really odd for me! Wonder if my pcos diet over last month is helping? Anyhoo - now joining you other yammers on FP with a big glass of wine - cheers! 🍷

WonkyDonk87 · 13/04/2018 21:29

Thanks pink She asked me what cycle day I'm on today... really should be temping because it's irrelevant for me otherwise tbh. No idea where my cycle is actually at humpfh!

Bubblegum89 · 13/04/2018 21:19

Lexie I didn’t bother as I just figured it was lining and felt a bit silly asking the doctor why bits of my insides were falling out through my vagina 😂 hopefully it means something positive because I could really do with some positivity.

Finding a wedding outfit I’d ALWAYS a nightmare. I always like white dresses but you can’t wear them. I’m a very last minute person when it comes to shopping for stuff like that. I find online shopping is much easier, New Look has lovely dresses

@wonkydonk87 I have accupuncture. Don't be nervous! A good acupuncturist will make you feel very comfy. I worried it would be like having an injection . It's not at all.. infact you hardly feel them going in. :-)

WonkyDonk87 · 13/04/2018 20:47

Any acupuncture Yammers around? Got my first treatment tomorrow and a bit nervous
