A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

I think sometimes not getting fp is worse than getting it. You start worrying there’s something wrong or you just want to go on to your next cycle of ttc but you can’t because you don’t know where you’re at. Hopefully it comes soon! I stuck my mooncup in this morning as I couldn’t be bothered attempting to get it in in the middle of work because it can be a messy business lol. I just took it out though because I’d put it in awkwardly and it was uncomfortable and fully expected at least a bit of brown blood but nope. Just lots of creamy cm. I think I’ll buy some preggo tests this afternoon because if there’s one definite way to bring on fp, it’s buying tests!

I’m also supposed to have day 3 bloods done for recurrent miscarriage clinic, but can’t do them until FP actually starts!

I get that dodgy tummy too Bubblegum. I’m just annoyed FP hasn’t shown up as was using condoms anyway coming up to surgery and would like to think my cycles aren’t a total mess at the moment. Also found last months very upsetting as first one after MMC so am slightly dreading it but want it over!

Sounds promising for you though, I’ll (quietly) cross my fingers.

Sorry to hear about fp paranormal :( well done on losing 1lb though. Fp hasn’t arrived yet for me but I’m taking my mooncup to work because I don’t trust my body one bit to go from nothing to full blown massacre within the next few hours lol had a bit of an iffy tummy this morning which is almost always a sign of impending fp/doom

Evening all. Well - I'm writing from our not-so-luxurious airport hotel before our "I'm Not fucking pregnant - take me somewhere hot with good food and wine" break. Had my first acupuncture yesterday and despite being pretty cynical, I did feel very relaxed and spaced out afterwards so maybe there's something in it. Think I'm due FP on Friday, but have packed tampons just in case (had a surprise period in Nice last year and had to send DH out for supplies ha ha). Hope you're all well. Wonky

It's unlikely @FairyAnn but test if you want to. Be prepared to likely see a negative test though.

My scratch is booked for tomorrow. I'm quite apprehensive, then my meds are being delivered on Tuesday. It's all suddenly very real.

@fairyann depends really, if it was implantation bleeding rather than a period then a test would necessarily be positive tomorrow.

@FairyAnn that depends on how upset you would be at a stark white test? I don’t mind seeing negative tests, they prepare me for FP.

Lots of cramps here but no FP.

Could be but don't think so. Typically I get 4 days with tapering off for a few days after. This started Friday morning heavy and just stopped cold this morning

Okay, talk me down Yammers. Period was 3 days late, heavy for 2 days, then stopped completely. Now I've read a number of posts from women saying this happened to them and they still got a BFP.

So now seriously considering taking a test tomorrow. Am I being stupid to hope?

june If fp doesn’t show tonight or tomorrow (I’m 99.9% sure it will show tomorrow) I’ll test on Tuesday maybe. I’m the same, I’d rather my period showed up than have to look at a negative test!

owlpatrol fingers crossed for you :) I had a lot of twinges/cramps on my left side last Sunday so 7dpo (IF I ovulated) but I tend to get twinges now and again through the tww anyway. I have had a few twinges the last few days as well. Not period-like but enough for me to think that it’s on its way.

@Bubblegum89 same as me this cycle so hanging in there. I too have my day 21 bloods on Tuesday I'm a bit nervous about it mainly because I need to tell my boss I'll be running late for work and she's such a nosey cow she'll question why I've been for blood tests. I'm going to lie if she asks and I'm tired all the time or something. Had some more mild cramping today I'm about 6dpo if I indeed ovulated. Was only late once by about 5 days so may not have ovulated that cycle. We shall see not due fp for around 11 days

@bubble I saw the magician, had me in tears too. Also reminds me that there are always people worse off than I am, and to be grateful we are all healthy. Are you going to test tomorrow? Can understand the fear of the stark white tests. So much worse for me than seeing fp arrive and that’s bad enough!

@SoozC the drive is amazing isn’t it. My mother keeps asking why I am putting myself through a big surgery without any guarantee that it works when I already have a child. And then said the age gap will be so big that there’s no point really. Thanks mum, way to make me feel better!

@Bubblegum89 after my other miscarriages (and the probable very early one where I hadn’t bothered testing but was 10 days late) I actually ovulated early afterwards; this time I ovulated the day the miscarriage bleeding stopped which was strange. Thought I’d be back to normal by this month though.

Haha with stark white tests! I have pretty much equal fear of stark white and of positive tests! As with positive tests I just feel like I’m waiting for it all to end.

Oh good lord no, I would never take a pregnancy test until I was at least 2 days late paranormal I have a phobia of stark white tests and refuse to take one without good reason 😂

I know a lot of ladies who have had a mc and found their following cycles were much longer. As if having a mc wasn’t awful enough, it goes and messes about with your body too :(

@Bubblegum89 a test today would be fairly conclusive if you did ovulate 2 weeks ago? I think my cycles are just a bit confused due to recent miscarriage; this is cycle day 30 and it's never more than 29days long usually.
