A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hi All! Thought i better check in to the new post! (9 pages already.. wowser! )

Now onto my.. 12 month of trying for our first.. I think... I stopped counting when I got to about 10months! haha

Had tests done at a private IVF clniic in Jan.. came back that I have a low AMH level. However had the all clear from the GP blood tests that hormones etc are normal. Only issue was I had BV and I was too fat for them to help us. was given antibiotics to clear the BV and told to go away and lose at least 2 stone and to keep trying... so.. here we are..

Im on day 11... and normally this would be my fertile stage. But my OPKS are still showing as low fertility and no sign yet of EWCM. ive been taking maca root for the past couple of months.. could that have pushed my ovulation date back?

Whilst im happy there is nothing stopping us from getting pregnant.. being in the unexplained category is a bit sucky. Just got to drop the weight i guess!

@limp so ridiculous to make you wait.

@si1ver and @bubble I have a ‘spare room’. We moved last summer expecting TTC to end once the stress of moving settled but it’s made sod all difference. Instead I have a half empty extra space that taunts me daily. I’m thinking there’s something about the empty room and my empty womb....

Good luck with your HyCoSy sparkwood fingers crossed your tube is doing well in there! We aren’t entitled to ivf funding either because of DD even though my OH has no biological children. I’ve looked into abc fertility, maybe worth a look just to keep your options open? I’ve heard loads of great stories from women who did their IVF there. They do a whole package including the procedure, medication and scans etc for £2500. Still a lot of money but much cheaper than I’ve seen quoted for other clinics that charge around £6-7k for everything. Hopefully you won’t need it though :)

Really sorry about FP Sooz. I’m due on today too so I’ll be raising a gin to you tonight.

Had my appointment at the fertility clinic today. He’s booking me in for a HyCoSy, some time in the next month or so. I’ve only got the one tube, so if that’s fucked then so am I. He confirmed we couldn’t get IVF on the NHS, which I pretty much knew already, and I’d told DP that, but he thought I was just being negative. We can’t afford to go private, so that’s not for us. The doctor was quite a hunk though, and he did a few scans for us when I was pregnant with DS. So fingers crossed Dishy Doctor Angelo gets me pregnant.

sparkwood ha I didn’t even notice that. It must be posh if even the doorknobs are photo-worthy

si1ver we moved house last year in August when we were pretty deep into ttc. We had a two bed flat but wanted a garden. We moved into a 2 bedroom new build. Part of me at the time wanted a 3 bedroom “just in case” but I had a feeling this would take a long time and I couldn’t bare having an empty room sat there waiting. Turns out I was right to just go two bedroom. That’s the thing with ttc, it’s so out of your hands that you can’t plan ahead for anything properly. Do we buy a house with extra rooms? Do we book that holiday for the summer? Do we plan a wedding for next spring? It bums me right out

I think the only thing worse than waiting to conceive to buy a new family home is rattling around the big four bed I've been doing up for the last three years as a family home. Maybe I should start looking at nice city centre penthouses instead.

@LimpLettice. Late June?! That's ages away. I'm can relate to feeling like a zombie though. The last couple of nights I've had a longer than usual sleep and I've woken up feeling like I haven't slept at all!

@Bubblegum89. I don't know why but I'm lol'ing about that door knob photo. It's a bit like a piss take photo "...and this is a door knob" it's like something I'd do "....and this is the FRER drawer, you can fit 1,000 FRERs in here"

So shattered. 9 hours sleep last night and still feel like a zombie. I got my referral through yesterday. First available appointment late June Confused. Fuck sakes. It's a joke.

wonky haha imagine. I mean, I’m a bit of a drama queen anyway so my GP probably wouldn’t expect anything less.

Dreamers I’ve been googling (I know, I know) and it looks like it could be lining that wasn’t expelled with my flow. I’ve had even more of it this morning. I’m not cramping, in any pain and there’s no itching/odour (thank god) as I’m always a bit paranoid about PID. I’m technically only cd5 and usually still have spotting although I’ve not had any since Monday. I’m trying to remain calm. Ish.

House porn is my favourite. I spend hours on rightmove looking at super expensive mansions. I’m too excited about the yammer house now, reckon we could club together about £3 million between us and get a place with a pool and cinema room?
