A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Mines is well on her way, dropped RHR, cramps and (since we are anti TMI) loads of huge stinking farts! Gutted about next FW, although I just checked and if I ovulated at CD27 this cycle tgen I could be in for a small change next cycle, ugh, bloody hope.

@Si1ver sorry to hear FP has arrived!

Haha @MynameisJune I'll actually be off volounteering during FW, so annoying haha, I do a good deed and it falls on my FW! 🤬

Thanks for explaining 'fp' - I thought it might be that! I much prefer it to Aunt Flo! I've had my ultrasound and apparently everything is normal which is reassuring. I do have a follicle on my right ovary but that’s nothing to worry about apparently. I felt a bit emotional as there were loads of mums to be with bumps waiting for their ultrasounds 😢 It didn't half sting. My OH (other half - is that right?!) hasn't really asked about it and I told him I had the apt. He REALLY doesn't want kids which means he shows no interest in this stuff. I do wish he cared more sometimes. But then at least I know he won't leave me if I can't have kids! Sorry if that's a stupid thing to say! I've got to find some light somewhere : )

Hope tonight goes smoothly Paranormal. Dildocam tomorrow is about my 6th in 6 weeks and until you lot said it it never occurred to me to wear a dress. I've been awkwardly struggling out of jeans and boots every time and trying to concentrate on what they say whilst putting me Bridget's back on behind a sheet of paper. Tomorrow I will be prepared Smile

Minime that's what happened to us last month. Consultant found the sac and said it looked great, but we already knew it was terrible odds. I almost wish he hadn't said as the renewed hope was painful. Thinking of you, the waiting is horrible.

As for me I have the pleasure of at least 2 people looking into my vagina this week. Quite probably more. Colposcopy tonight where we will spend the first 10 mins trying to locate my cervix- it's so short it's nearly impossible to find. Followed by as many biopsies as they can get- they seem terrified they'll miss a cancer hiding behind scar tissue- it doesn't react normally to the vinegar so they are DESPERATE to just remove the minimal cervical tissue that I have.

Then on Thursday I have a recurrent miscarriage appt complete with ANOTHER dildocam. Hopefully will be formally listed for surgery then.

Thankfully it's holidays next week!

@Pob13 I'm surrounded by pregnant people at the moment. It's shit. @Si1ver well done on getting such a big discount. When are you due to start your cycle?

@bridget33 I've had a LOT of pelvic ultrasounds and always got results immediately. Most people have a normal scan so fingers crossed for you. I always cause great excitement with my short scarred cervix and adhesion filled uterus. And obviously when there's a miscarriage going on there's usually a lot of expressions of surprise that I conceived at all. Really gives me hope for the future.

@minime2017 how many weeks are you? I'm so sorry this is happening. The waiting and rescanning is the worst part. Did they see a source of the bleeding?

Hello yammers. Running the gauntlet a bit here. Following my spotting/bleeding last week i went to epu to comfirm suspected miscarriage. Had an internal scan where the lady spotted a sac and said all was as it should be at this stage. A glimmer of hope was given. Days on im still bleeding with occassional cramping . Took a hpt today and its fainter than the one i took last week. Back to epu next week by which stage i hope all this is over. Complete rollercoaster all month. Scared at the thought of how this will all end (hate the thought of intervention) and then ttc to have this happen all over again. When can i have wine?????

@bridget33 fp is an acronym specific to this thread btw. It's not generally used.

@MynameisJune the clinic have prescribed them. The prescription was emailed to a company called fertility2u, who did online blood tests for me earlier on in the process who quoted for us.

Then the clinic email the pharmacy direct for confirmation, there's an online signature process and the drugs are shipped with guaranteed cold chain shipping.

Hi everyone, so I have my pelvic ultrasound this afternoon. Does anyone know if they tell you the results straight away? Am feeling a bit nervous about it...eek!

It's my birthday! The last year of my 20s Confused lol. I'm am taking a day off from my no sugar diet so I can relax and have a bit of fun. I'm going to get my hair done in a bit and then have lunch with Mr Looking and my Mum. It's rainy here but I'm not going to let that spoil my day.

S1lver, thanks - I've had advice to that effect since being turned away - I think the nurses at the centre were probably just being very risk averse & as I was quite taken aback by being told I couldn't donate (also O- so always being asked to go in) & I didn't have the confidence to argue the point.
