Thread 6... 😑

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hey ladies, hope you all had a nice Easter. I had my 7 week old niece staying overnight last night and the night feeds didn’t put me off so that’s good/bad lol

Cycle has been odd. I had lots of ewcm Friday and Saturday which excited me a lot more than it should, but had negative opks. They started getting darker lines yesterday but still not positive. No ewcm today, not much watery cm either and an opk which I think was positive but if it was, it was only just. OH said the test line was still slightly lighter than the control. Been having cramping in my left side all evening. I don’t tend to get ov pains so not sure what they feel like. It felt like period cramping but also like when you get a stitch? Can you not get a positive opk and still ovulate? I get positives every single cycle without fail and they tend to last for 2 days. I’m worrying I didn’t ovulate now :(

Hmmm, here's hoping Sooz. Tbh I was pregnant for such a short amount of time I felt like a fraud using the term 'miscarriage' and didn't think it would affect my cycle at all.

Oi Bubble - just seen your thread, are you considering it then?

SoozC · 01/04/2018 22:34

For a couple of months after my mc, Wonky, my cycles were longer. Hopefully it's just your body settling again? Mine are back to normal now or maybe that's wishful thinking

WonkyDonk87 · 01/04/2018 22:25

Hmmm, maybe that's why mine changed then? I've been off oral contraception for 18 months now, and before my mc they were all over the place. Afterwards I've had 35/78/33 day cycles but the quality is improving.

Ah bugger it! It's a mystery!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/04/2018 22:17

@WonkyDonk87 Before my MC, my periods used to be barely there and now I have one day of what I call "light dry red" and then two to three days of fairly heavy red and then back to the light dry. I miss the days of light periods lol.

@JaggyJobby. We need to have some fun during this ttc lark!

WonkyDonk87 · 01/04/2018 22:13

My most recent had two days of light brown spotting, followed by a good 5 days of bright red bleeding but nothing unmanageable. In the past I've had some that barely made it past dark brown spotting. My last was the most 'normal' for some time so I'm hoping it's the Agnus Castus working its herbally magic.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/04/2018 22:10

@WonkyDonk87. Wish I could help but mine are unpredictable too! Yikes 78 days!! My longest recently has been 43. Are yours heavy when they arrive?

JaggyJobby · 01/04/2018 22:03

@LookingAtTheStars89 haha yeah don't think I could go that long without treats, but thankfully I've learned to make a few myself, just need to find time haha!

WonkyDonk87 · 01/04/2018 21:57

Speaking of FWs.... anyone care to have a stab at when mine is? Last period started on 20.3 and was a 33 day cycle. The one before that was my whopper at 78 days. I've been taking Agnus Castus since roughly the start of Feb, so praying my cycle repeats at around 33 days again. Fuck it who knows with my bloody reproductive system

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/04/2018 21:14

@JaggyJobby. I read that too but I just wanted a chill day with my family so I have given myself a day off. I thought if it takes me another 12+ months to get pregnant then that's a long time for no treats!!

SparkwoodAnd21 · 01/04/2018 20:57

Wonky I’m nearing the end of FW so no chance to ask the doctor! I think I’ll just go for it. Last chance for a 2018 baby and all that.

WonkyDonk87 · 01/04/2018 19:45

I would if I was in your position, I'd kick myself if the appointment didn't turn up that quickly. I'm still a few months away from getting any investigations though as can't be referred until two years TTC, so can't talk from experience. Could you ask your doctor if there's any reason not to?

SparkwoodAnd21 · 01/04/2018 16:52

I have a question Yammers: I am in my fertile week. I am waiting to hear about an appointment for a HyCoSy. Should I try this month or not, in case I get an appointment? Doctor said it could be within a month at my appointment a week or so ago, but should I just carry on as normal until I have a date?

JaggyJobby · 01/04/2018 12:55

Cravingchocolate now too but have been reading about sugar consumption and hormonal imbalance/PCOS and decided to go off sugar again for a while to see if it makes a difference to TTC, as last time I did it was before I started TTC. I felt amazing last time, so its worth it anyway. Just hard at first!

Was chatting to someone yesterday who is going to start TTC later this year and it has inspired me to give sugar thing a proper shot, have been dithering about it for a while. I want to be happy for friends getting BFPs, rather than mow where I am dreading it before its even happened!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/04/2018 12:42

@Justwaitingforaline. Chocolate sounds like a good idea! I'm cd 3 with a terrible menstrual migraine :-( my head aches and I feel sick as a dog! April fools pregnancy jokes are the worst - some peoe are real idiots x

Justwaitingforaline · 01/04/2018 12:38

CD24 and I reckon this month is another no. Pink CM yesterday on two wipes but cramps today. I’ve had three April fools day positive tests on my FB and I’ve blocked all of the offenders.

I’m going to go and drown myself in Easter eggs now; they probably have more of a chance of being fertilised than mine do. I hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/03/2018 12:55

I just got the date through for my gynae appointment, it's on May 3rd so not too far away. FP is in full force today and my ankle is KILLING from my fall yesterday Sad.

@Paranormalbouquet. I think you are being very strong :-)

Paranormalbouquet · 31/03/2018 10:58

@JaggyJobby Sorry about FP. @Bubblegum89 your cycle can be delayed for any number of reasons- it’s actually amazing so many of us are so regular. Any physical stress (or severe psychological stress) can delay ovulation, and sometimes nothing we can pinpoint. I’m pretty sure I’m ovulating (few days early). Using condoms is psychologically so hard when I desperately want a baby but as my main problem seems to be staying pregnant it’s probably best I get surgery first.

Bubblegum89 · 31/03/2018 10:29

Ugh I’m sorry jaggy

June I’ve anyways said three is just enough lol anything over 3 and you’re borderline crazy (my belief was reaffirmed after watching ‘20 kids and counting’ the other day 😳)

I’m getting really pissed off right now. I’m CD14. Had a load of ewcm yesterday. Just did an opk and there’s barely a line there still. Now my cycle is going to be longer and I’ll have to figure it out all over again. I stopped taking the B12 but could that be the issue maybe? I can’t think of any other reason. I don’t know whether I should just have sex anyway even though I’m clearly nowhere near ovulating yet. I’m a little suspicious of this batch of tests as well tbh...

Ah, Jaggy, sorry you've got fp. :(

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/03/2018 22:11

@MynameisJune. My Dad always says when he leaves mine "I take my hat off to you I don't know how you do it" lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/03/2018 22:09

@MynameisJune. Three is lovely when you get used to it. I have 3 dd's and apart from the bickering sometimes, it's all good.

MynameisJune · 30/03/2018 21:37

@looking sorry for the shit start to the weekend. Good excuse for a lot of alcohol.

@jaggy you’re definitely allowed to feel sorry for yourself occasionally. There is no scale at which our misery is allowed to kick in. It’s shit.

MynameisJune · 30/03/2018 21:34

I have 2 extra children here this weekend. Earlier I was seriously considering just sticking at one because omfg 3 children is hard!!!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/03/2018 21:25

@WonkyDonk87. I wasn't going to have any chocolate but I will treat myself now that FP has arrived.

@JaggyJobby. It was good Wink At least I don't have any stomach cramps, mind you, I did have some codeine earlier so maybe I do have cramps but can't feel them lol. You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself, I got misty eyed looking at a baby hat in Tesco earlier and then the pregnancy tests when I picked up some pads. I can't imagine ever seeing another positive again or buying a baby hat.
