TTC #2 - March BFPs

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

Fountain - eeeeeee congratulations! Fingers crossed it all goes well for you.

June - yes I can see the sense in just letting AF come without testing.

Twittle - It's funny about partners - if men were the ones who got pregnant I wonder if they would be the same about tests? Sorry you get crappy periods these days. My pain free ones have been the loveliest surprise I must say. I'd have had a baby earlier if i had known!

Knitting - good for you. So important to remember the things you enjoy doing other than being a mum! Xx

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 21:34

FountainOfYouth oh my yay!!!!! Congratulations and the best of luck to you xx

FountainOfYouth · 08/03/2018 20:47

My chin broke out in awfully sore hormonal spots this week and I have been getting up in the nights to pee, unusual for me. DS turned 3 yesterday so a combination of everything meant I couldn't wait any longer to test, period due next Sunday...got up early & tested this morning...and got a positive!!! Came up 1-2 weeks pregnant, I am so delighted but totally stunned too. Thought DH would never get up out of bed to tell him. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean, we had an early miscarriage before DS so I am very wary right now.
Best of luck to you all ladies, I hope you all get good news very soon x

@badbad if af doesn’t arrive I might test in the morning. Or I might wait until after the weekend. I have seeing the stark white tests of a bfn and would rather just let af arrive.

As for DH and testing, he has no idea when I test or if I test! I just tell him every month that we haven’t conceived.

Knittinggurl · 08/03/2018 20:10

@BadBadBeans I didn't pick up my needles for almost 8 months after by bubba was born, I've started knitting when she's in bed in the evenings in the past fortnight and am so enjoying it again! It's nice indulgent mummy time!

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 20:07

BadBadBeans oh my periods have gone completely other way since DS! Every month I think I've got early pregnancy symptoms with cramps, bad back and nausea but nope that's how my period announces itself now 🤦 So so so hope it doesn't come for you this month. And yes my OH gets so annoyed with me testing before AF is due. Says it's a waste of money. Tbf it is.

BadBadBeans · 08/03/2018 19:57

Ooo June how long will you wait to test?

BadBadBeans · 08/03/2018 19:56

Out of interest, how do your partners feel about you guys testing before/when your period is due? My husband is against it - he thinks I should just wait until my period is a few days late and then test to confirm pregnancy, rather than 'wasting' tests beforehand. I haven't told him that I am going to test tomorrow morning. If it's negative I'll just bin it and keep schtum!

MynameisJune · 08/03/2018 19:54

@badbad not yet, thanks for asking. I’m still not even daring to hope to be honest. I probably just ovulated later this month.

BadBadBeans · 08/03/2018 19:53

Hi Knittinggurl! I'm a keen knitter, too. Haven't managed much in the last 19 months though, funnily enough...!

Twittle oh no, I'm really sorry to hear about your Nan. That's so hard. Glad you were able to go and see her. I'm also glad to hear that you are still in this month - hope ovulation happens for you in the next couple of days.

Ahhh Fifi hopefully it was just too early. Especially if AF might be due in 5 days' time. Wine is a good shout just in case though.

June did AF visit today in the end?

So, my period is due probably around today or tomorrow. I've not had any sign of it yet, but since DS my periods have been total stealth ninjas anyway - sometimes I have no idea they're happening until I've bled through my trousers (!), which is v v different to my periods before having a baby, as they were usually quite painful and announced themselves with cramps well in advance. If nothing happens overnight then I'll be testing in the morning with the aforementioned Morrison's cheapy so I know whether or not to allow myself a drink with friends tomorrow evening.

Got to say though, it's REALLY hard not testing when you know you have a pregnancy test in the house. The only thing that's stopped me from doing it already is knowing that I got a negative with DS two days before my period was due.

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 14:05

Fififiesta oh I hope you're just too early so much! Really wishing you lots of luck. Enjoy the wine though of you decide to have a wine evening! Lush.

June hoping that the cramps aren't period ones! Don't wanna see you on the April bus either

MynameisJune · 08/03/2018 13:53

Af due today but no sign yet, although cramps have started so I’m thinking it’s not far away. I’ll hopefully not see many of you on the April bus.

Fififiesta · 08/03/2018 13:34

I stupidly tested this morning, I am CD24 so probably too early but BFN anyway Sad With #1 I got a BFP 4 days before AF was due but now my cycle is more irregular so AF is due sometime between CD27-29. Feeling like it's not our month.

I have told DH to get some wine in.

Boboelephant · 08/03/2018 09:53

@Knittinggurl I am thinking next Thursday. I'll be 12dpo and I think af is due Friday or Saturday. With my DS I didn't test until I was already 6 weeks- long cycles at the time. I got my last bfp at about 13dpo I think. The months I have tested super early it's always a neg!

Knittinggurl · 08/03/2018 08:57

@boboelephant any idea when you might test? I lost count of how many times I tested last month but I definitely lost the plot and my period was 4 days late which didn't help. This time I'll wait til
closer to when AF is due. I got my BFP on 10 DPO with my DC so I can't help myself testing really early though I know it's stupid 🙈

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 08:56

Boboelephant thank you!

Boboelephant · 08/03/2018 07:12

@Bambamber hope you get some answers soon.
@slippynips I agree a handmade card is a lovely idea. Anything done by the kids or a nice picture of the kids always goes down well with grandmas.
@TwittleBee so sorry about your Nan. Hope she recovers. With your opk you want the line to be as dark or darker than the control line. They can change pretty quickly so it helps to do them at least twice a day so you don't miss your surge.
@Knittinggurl welcome. We have the same cycles. 5dpo here too.

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 05:48

mayago ah that might explain why my cycles are so regular now! Used to be all over the show before #1.

Bambamber so sorry. Really wishing you so much luck that you get some answers and positive ways forward soon.

slippynips oh bless You, cannot be easy and don't feel bad for feeling miserable about other people's pregnancies. Totally normal. BadBadBeans' idea about homemade card or something is a great idea though.

BadBadBeans no chance of DTD last night. Ended up going to hospital to see my Nan, she's just fallen really ill with pneumonia. Doesn't look good. Took a opk though and came back negative (I'm looking for a dark line right? OH accidently threw instructions away as I left them on the table!) So still have time to DTD this month. How have you been though?

Knittinggurl hi welcome! Super good luck to you

Knittinggurl · 07/03/2018 20:57

Hi all, please can I join?

Age 39
Cycle #3
DS 8 months

AF is due around 17/03, I'm currently 4 DPO. My cycle is still working itself out after DS and has been a bit irregular the last couple of months (28 days then 36) but I think I OV on CD 17

Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone on this thread x

BadBadBeans · 07/03/2018 20:00

Lord, I just googled and my nearest Asda is 20 miles away. Maybe won't be getting a FRER from there after all! Ha!

BadBadBeans · 07/03/2018 19:59

Argh Twittle, hope you manage to DTD despite knackeredness tonight?! I was a bit frustrated this month that my fertile week happened to land right when DH was too busy / knackered to be doing much baby dancing!

mayago oooooo thank you! I don't know where my nearest Asda is but shall duly go and have a Google!

Paranormal are there any drawbacks to the adhesion removal?

Justwaiting I haven't been tracking my ovulation at all, but based on my period dates we are probably test date buddies? Friday-ish?

Bambamber oh, that's so hard :( Wonderful that your DP is supportive whatever you decide, though. Could you talk to your Dr some more about it?

slippy hoorah for mini eggs! I've eaten a bucketload of sugary dried fruit today and now feel like my teeth are going to fall out. Must be hard to have such close friends and family pregnant when you are struggling. Regarding your mums, could you make them something with your 2 year old's help? A little card with a 'bunch of flowers' on maybe, that is made up of their handprints? I was thrilled today because nursery sent DS home with a card for me. Last year was my first Mother's Day and DH didn't bother to do anything. I was a bit hurt - but this year, nursery have got it covered! Woohoo!

slippynips · 07/03/2018 14:42

Thanks ladies for the condolences. My OH has been away for a couple of nights so I have just eaten my body weight in mini eggs and battled with a stroppy 2 year old! Month or 2 off now. I’m very torn about it. On one hand it is the sensible and responsible thing to do as we can’t afford another baby in December/January. But on the other hand I hate that money is controlling us growing our family. Perhaps it will give my cycles a chance to recover. I always had a very regular 28 day cycle but 1st month after miscarriage it was 32 days and this month it was 30 days. I’m feeling quite sad and fed up with it all, especially when my BIL and wife and my best friend are both pregnant, and I really am happy for them but don’t really want to hear it. And that makes me feel terrible too. AND it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and we are skint. I’m not bothered about me but feel awful that we can’t get our mums any flowers.

Any Debbie Downer over here is going to chill out now DS is having a nap, and look forward to seeing OH tonight!

Bambamber · 07/03/2018 14:38

@TwittleBee thankyou, but unfortunately was a BFN

@BadBadBeans he's supportive of me having it done when I think is best. I'm torn because I'm in so much pain and the last op worked wonders and made a world of difference, but with each op the risk of scar tissue and adhesions increases. The fact my Dr made a point of asking if we wanted more children and literally told me if I wanted more to do so now and they will do the op afterwards makes it so much harder. But hey ho it is what it is

mayago · 07/03/2018 14:25

PCOS apparently isn't a static condition TwittleBee I had mine confirmed with an utrasound maybe 10 years ago. But in an early scan at 6 weeks the technician looked at my ovaries, and there weren't any signs of cysts. I think the general advice is after trying for a year, see your GP.

Glad you're feeling more positive paranormal I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope next month is the one for you! It difficult when you feel age isn't on your side - this is where I am atm.

Ooh, Justwaiting when is AF due? I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with number two Flowers

Justwaitingforaline · 07/03/2018 13:44

Can I join? Grin
Age:24
Cycle: 18
AF due : 10th March
DD is 3.5
3 chemical pregnancies and an early loss at 5 weeks.

This is the first month I haven’t peed on a stick by now. I think I ovulated on the 22nd of Feb which would make me 13dpo today! We haven’t tried at all this month as TTC turned me a bit loopy ( I’m sure a lot of you can relate to that) and I plan to hold out testing until AF is late if my willpower carries on! DH has his SA results back next week and my internal ultrasound was normal, as were my bloods.
