TTC #2 - March BFPs

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

@Fififiesta you aren’t doing anything wrong, it’s all a bit of a lottery. My DD was conceived around an hour after thinking we might try. This time around it’s been 9 months, multiple miscarriages and no sign of a baby despite doing everything by the book. It’s just shit.

fifi I am sorry it looks like AF is turning up! Make sure you have a good cry later over some wine or something and have a good weekend with the family. Really sending you lots of luck for next month!

I'm calling myself out this month. Cramps and spotting so AF will be in full swing by tomorrow I bet.

Gutted. Trying to keep myself together until I can have a good sob later. I shouldn't have got my hopes up. Sad

I just don't understand what we are doing wrong. We DTD every other day all month for the last two cycles. If that doesn't do it then I don't think anything will Sad

Well I have my usual monthly acne breakout and EWCM today so I am assuming that means ovulation is soon, I'll take an OPK later.

Reckon this month is out for us as only managed to DTD twice, last being Monday. Doubt we will be up for it tonight as we will both be getting back so late from work/visiting Nan. I'll hope that tomorrow our DS lets us DTD in the morning haha.

Twittle yes I think that's it; he was quite pragmatic about the whole thing first time round too. To be fair, he did say that he was excited when I came back into the room at 5.50am and confessed to having taken a test and that I thought it was positive!

BadBadBeans maybe he doesn't want to get his hopes up! Do another test tomorrow morning though so you get a darker line to show him. So excited for you!

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. Still feeling slightly stunned. I've been going back to check the test approximately every twenty minutes. DH gave it the barest glance (not in the light) and said he couldn't see a line, but that's exactly what he did when I tested pregnant with DS. And I have you lot confirming that I'm not going mad!

June thank you, yes, I'll test again over the weekend and see if it gets stronger. Yes, try and hold out till Monday and then use your FRER. I really hope you did ovulate late. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Paranormal - that's so frustrating and disappointing. I'm glad the GP is on your side and being helpful.

@cariad thank you, the more time goes on the less hopeful I am that this will happen naturally. It’s possible I didn’t ovulate until the second time I had EWCM although that was only for one day and is much later than any cycle I’ve ever had but it’s definitely not impossible. If I did then af is due Monday. I’m expecting it anytime between now and then to be honest.

How utterly annoying on the recurrent mc referral front Paranormal. I’m glad you managed to make it to the GP and that she got things moving.

Waves at CatRen - it looks like we are cycle buddies. Here’s hoping we both get some good news soon - goodness knows, we’ve waited long enough for it.

Loving your positivity on the healthy kick front Lopey. I definitely think I need to take a leaf out of your book on that front. I started the year with such good intentions, but the weather over the past few months has wreaked havoc with my diet. I CANNOT wait for Summer!

Sorry I’ve been so rubbish at keeping up with you all. 7dpo at this end and not much to report... Expecting AF on 16th, but I’ll probably test on the 14th as I like to be prepared for her inevitable arrival!

Enormous congratulations on the pregnancy front Fountain and Bad - wishing you both a happy and healthy nine months.

Sorry to hear about the BFN Mynameis, but all is not lost. I think there’s every chance that you ovulated during your second stretch of EWCM which means that you’re still in with a shot. I shall be keeping everything crossed that you get your sticky BFP before any fertility clinic trip in April.

Thanks all, if af doesn’t arrive by Monday I’ll use my FRER and see what happens. We are going to a private clinic in April to start investigations.

@badbad that’s definitely a line, I’d test again in the morning.

@paranormal that’s so frustrating when referrals go missing or just don’t even happen. Everything moves as such a galacial pace as it is.

CatRen great that everything lined up for your ovulation and you managed to DTD too! Fingers crossed for when the 15th rolls round.

AF not due till 24th for me so got ages. CD 15 or should be ovulating today or tomorrow (OPKs negative yesterday)

Paranormalbouquet so frustrating! Really feeling for you so much. It is like they do not fully understand the emotional toll this takes as well. Hope it all gets sorted soon lovely x

@MynameisJune I’m sorry for the BFN. I really hope things turn around for you soon. It’s so hard when Mother Nature gets your hopes up.

As for me I found out that the RMC deny ever getting my referral. The procedure on my cervix/adhesions can’t go ahead without the basic investigations from them. I’m getting really frustrated- I know I’m being impatient but it’s so hard using contraception when I’m desperate for a baby.

I’m 35 now, and been trying since last July but obviously have conceived twice in that time so no point going to a fertility clinic at the moment.

I called my GP re referral going AWOL and she kindly said she had a cancellation appointment so saw her yesterday. She’s requested some of the basic recurrent miscarriage bloods for me at least so will get those done next week. Starting high dose folic acid and will try aspirin if and when I conceive again. Not much evidence of benefit but no evidence of harm so worth a try!

Gave in and tested this morning as still no af. Stark white bfn so guess my period has just decided to go awol for a while. It does this every so often just to keep me on my toes.

Okay guys there is a super faint line. It did not appear in 3 mins but did appear in the 15 mins after which you are supposed to disregard any changes in the test. I am cautiously excited and cursing Morrison's a whole lot. Going to have to scour my local town for a FRER today.

Well I couldn't sleep so I've taken a test and it is a BFN. I guess AF will turn up later today and then I will pay better attention to my FW next month. Back to bed for me!

bad I'm like mynameis and dh never knows when I'm testing. He is keen to ask when testing day is but I'm always pretty vague about it. I can't handle the disappointment of a bfn if he's standing there eagerly awaiting it..This is what you ladies are here for!! I only tell him when af arrives and then we get planning for the next one.

No signs or anything from me at 6dpo today, although I'm pretty pleased that my temp chart pinpointed ovulation on cd17 which is what i thought based on opks in previous cycles and cm this month. So we dtd exactly at the right time (only 3 times in the fw though so could have done more). Phew.

My temps are really low (mainly just under 36 degrees but got down to 35.5..!) So that's odd as i always thought i was a 'hot' bodied creature.

I've got my next appointment booked with my obgyn for mid April to discuss additional support and to talk through increased ovulatory spotting. That's a weight off my mind now.

Shall I get a list going for poas dates so we can keep each other company?

I'm 15 March which is when af is due
