TTC #2 - March BFPs

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

@MynameisJune have you had investigations? I’m having some recurrent miscarriage basic bloods next week.

I obviously (up to now at least) conceive reasonably quickly, just can’t seem to stay pregnant. My friend is an obstetrician and says often you just need to keep trying and hope it eventually works out. Just the thought of having more miscarriages is terrible though.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 13:06

@paranormal, same here re being up and down. I swing from not being able to take any more disappointments and thinking we should just give up to going all out for IVF before the end of the year. DH is very quiet, every month he gives me a hug and tells me it will happen we just need to keep trying. He didn’t even realise that it had been over a year, he honestly thought it had been about 4 or 5 months Confused so i don’t think it really plays on his mind at all.

Paranormalbouquet · 13/03/2018 12:45

@MynameisJune we could certainly travel more, even consider private education with just one child. But I know my DD would love a sibling which makes it all so hard.

I’m very much up and down at the moment!

How is your DH coping with things? All the DHs? Mine is very upset after recent miscarriage and I don’t think he’s comfortable talking to a friends/family about it.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 12:39

@paranormal big hugs, I do think about giving up and just accepting DD being an only. There are loads of pro’s to this, she would have an amazing life we could give her so much. But she would also get so much from having a sibling, I’m not sure I’m there yet. I’m dreading more birth announcements from my baby group. Luckily most family females have now stopped procreating so there shouldn’t be any from there thank god!

I’ve ordered more FR tests in an attempt to invoke the law of sod and af turning up!

largepinotplease · 13/03/2018 11:28

Definitely out as AF arrived about 10pm last night so my app is correct - at least I know now. To be fair we didn't do it half as much as we should have due to various reasons so I couldn't really expect much this month. Must try harder and hopefully April will be our month! Good luck to everyone else x

Paranormalbouquet · 13/03/2018 10:02

@MynameisJune I feel exactly the same; I know it’s totally irrational. There’s bumps everywhere I look and I hate the thought that my little girl is starting school in a few months without even a hint of another baby. Even getting a BFP wouldn’t cheer me up as I’ll feel I’m just waiting to miscarry again. I’m trying to be positive but not trying now is killing me. I have friends and family who I just know are going to announce pregnancies any day and I feel awful for dreading their good news so much.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just try to make my peace with having only one child.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 09:23

Thanks @twittle you made the room go all dusty 😊

stegosauruslady · 13/03/2018 09:12

12dpo and a BFN this morning on an IC. I'm not technically out yet, but I really feel like I am.

DP still convinced that I'm pregnant. I've told him he has to try harder next month :D

TwittleBee · 13/03/2018 09:03

Cariad haven't heard of Angus Cactus I shall hunt it down and give that a go! Thank you. Been taking Vit B this cycle though. (Not BFing anymore, gave that up a few months before returning to work)

June in no way are you being punished, it isn't your's or your OH's fault that it is taking its time to get #2. Wish I could give you a hug. You never know you could be lucky soon! Fx

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 08:50

@cat 10dpo is still really early, don’t be too down yet.

@cariad sorry for the bfn at 11dpo again it’s still really early.

I did start talking Maca root this month and my magnesium tablets have B6 in them but they are literally the same tablets I took with DD and they didn’t affect my cycle. So maybe it’s the Maca root, although I stopped that last Thursday to try and bring af on. At this point I’d have had to have ovulated on day 17 or later which is over a week later than normal. Not out of the realms of possibility. I’ve decided I’m not taking any further supplements only folic acid and vitamin D. My cycle is better when left to its own devices.

I think the worst thing this month is that I’ve been on the verge of vomiting all the time, I’m nearly crying at everything, and I’m exhausted more than usual.

And to top it off a Nursery Mum was sporting a baby bump this morning. Her DS is about 6-8 months younger than DD so they will get the age gap we wanted. I know comparison is the thief of joy but sometimes I can’t help wondering what we must have done wrong in a previous life to be punished like this.

Cariad2017 · 13/03/2018 08:07

Twittle - I can’t remember if you’re still bfing, but if not, if I was you I’d be tempted to try some supplements to see if they extend your LP. I know lots of people who swear by Angus Castus for sorting out wonky cycles (not that I’m saying that yours are particularly wonky) (it has to be taken in the morning if you want it to have an impact)...

If you want to try something milder, vitamin B6 (which you take throughout the month) can help regulate hormones as can evening primrose oil (which should only be taken up until ov).

largepinot cycles are confusing ey? Hopefully you will get a BFP soon and perhaps will be a while like last time before it shows. Fx!

Knittinggurl and CatRen hopefully you are both just too early. So frustrating though to have to wait it out.

June sorry you're out. Hopefully April will be your month xx

Cariad sorry to read it looks like cycle 20 for you now. But hopefully your app and the tests come back with some answers to get you on right track if you don't get BFP before.

Beginning to wonder if my short luteal phase might be an issue for us? It's only 9/10 days. Stupidly turned for google for answers why it might be taking us a while (even though it's only cycle 7 and so actually not even abnormal amount of time to be TTC yet).

Knittinggurl · 13/03/2018 07:48

@CatRen27 I had a BFN at 10 DPO this morning too.....

Cariad2017 · 13/03/2018 07:31

CatRen - 10dpo is still very early, particularly on an IC (so you’re still in with a shot) but thank you for posting a BFN for once. It made me chuckle! 😂

BFN this morning at 11dpo so I’m fairly sure I’m out... Roll on Cycle 20. At this rate, I’m starting to think that abstinence would give us exactly the same chance of pregnancy as ttc does.... On a more positive note we have an appointment next week to get the results of DH’s DNA fragmentation test (which could lead to us ultimately finding a reason for his poor morphology) and we have an appointment at the Fertility clinic on 28 March where I’m hoping to book a proper internal exam... It’s all feeling very futile right now though.

Sorry for the BFN Mynameis. Did you do anything different this month (vitamin/ supplement wise?) Being in limbo is horrid. I hope you get a resolution very very soon. Xxx

Aw sorry mynameis that's rubbish. Tea and cake for you today. Hope af shows soon so you can try again next month. Hugs xx

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 06:24

Bfn this morning on an FR so definitely sure I’m out this month and my cycle is just being weird and long. Not sure why I expected any different after so long TTC.

CatRen27 · 12/03/2018 23:05

Errrrr soz ladies my phone malfunctioned!

CatRen27 · 12/03/2018 23:00

I'm so confused 🤷🏻‍♀️ today I'm 14 DPO and did a test first thing that came back negative. I think my ovulation tracker app is slightly out as I believe I should have started AF on Saturday but the app says tomorrow (31 day cycle) which I think is too long. I had what I thought were period cramps this morning and fully expected to come on but still nothing...I know it could happen tomorrow in which case the app is right and my cycle is 31 days and not 28. I also had very very light pink discharge when I wiped on the 26th which was my ovulation day and so could have been ovulation bleed?

With DS it took a whole week after I missed my period to get a positive test. My boobs feel slightly heavier but that could also be an AF sign but the biggest thing I've noticed is that I am having the most vivid dreams every night, I had this when I was pregnant with DS and it could be wishful thinking or I'm just so tired I'm clutching at straws that I think it's a sign. If I don't come on tomorrow I'll be doing another test by Friday!

Congratulations on the BFPs so far and good luck to those still in the window for March! Sorry to hear about the BFNs 😞

TwittleBee · 12/03/2018 13:23

mayago I haven't managed it either since TTC with #2!
(with #1 we didn't realise I could be pregnant until AF didn't turn up on day expected so POAS on AF date)

mayago · 12/03/2018 13:16

TwittleBee They say a FRER is effective up to 6 days before AF is due. But you may still get a negative as it is more accurate closer to AF date. Really I should just wait and see if AF is late, but I've never once managed to do that!!

TwittleBee · 12/03/2018 12:49

Paranormal ouch ouch ouch! so sorry you're having to deal with that right now!

Sorry to read of the BFN some of you ladies having been getting over past day! Hopefully you all have just been too early with the testing

How early can we use a FRER without it being too early though?
Based on the +OPK I should be ovulating today which means I'll be 10dpo on start of AF?
