TTC #2 - March BFPs

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

I'll keep everything crossed for you. Maybe get a FRER tomorrow- ICs are great for peeing on but they don't give reassuring lines in the early days. (Although they give glaring positives mid miscarriage when you ironically want a BFN in my experience!).

I stupidly POAS this evening. Despite the fact that I've had sex once this cycle, using a condom and am only 9/10dpo if I even ovulated. God knows what possessed me! I think PMT has kicked in and it's acting as a reminder that I'm not pregnant!

MynameisJune · 14/03/2018 22:29

Really hope this is it for you @cat 😊

CatRen27 · 14/03/2018 22:27

Thanks for replying and not leaving me hanging myname and paranormal! I'm 12dpo, and it doesn't change in different lights (i.e. like how I've seen indent lines do before) and i just dont know if there's colour- my mind wants to see it so I'm not to be trusted!

Gah i mean I'll know so soon either way but do rather love a bit of stick-staring..

Thanks ladies xx

Paranormalbouquet · 14/03/2018 22:24

I think I see a hint of a line! How many DPO are you?

MynameisJune · 14/03/2018 22:24

I think can see something @cat but I can’t see any colour to it. Could be an indent where the dye should go or could be a very early bfp. Fingers crossed for you.

CatRen27 · 14/03/2018 22:13

Mmm so I usually see things that aren't there in photos, but I think I might actually be able to see something on the strip... tell me I'm mad? I don't want to get my bloody hopes up again!

@YassQueen I think 4-6 weeks is usual for period return? I had erpc but that was over 3 weeks after bad ultrasound and 10 days after passing sac. And still had positive pregnancy tests 10 for over a week after. Just think I ovulated as had usual ovulation pains and ewcm mixed with last of blood from miscarriage. Could be wrong!

YassQueen · 14/03/2018 18:43

Yeah Twittle I'm nearly 5 weeks post mc. Based on the start date of the mc, if I followed my usual cycle AF should have started around the 6th. I'm not holding up too badly thanks for asking, just been put on fluoxetine and back to work on reduced hours tomorrow night after my false start. They were happy to sign me off but I'm itching to get back to normality.

I have no idea to be honest Paranormal, I usually get ovulation pains since having DD but I've had tummy pains on and off on both sides since the mc so it's hard to tell. We've only managed to DTD once since, and I highly doubt that was anywhere near ovulation time. I did a pregnancy test at the same time as the OPK just in case but I think it's just a case of waiting for the next period now and trying again then. We're going to do SMEP I think. Fingers and toes crossed for you that it happens soon Flowers

MynameisJune · 14/03/2018 17:35

@paranormal Ava tracks all of the below and skin temperature. It was tested in a year a year long study (although doesn’t say how many people took part) and it’s supposed to identify an average of 5.3 fertile days per cycle with 89% accuracy. So like opk’s and even temping it isn’t guaranteed but on the Ava Facebook groups there are loads of women who say it predicted ovulation much later than they thought and now they are pregnant. At this point I’m willing to try anything.

Paranormalbouquet · 14/03/2018 15:33

@MynameisJune what does the Ava bracelet measure?

@CatRen27 11dpo is very early to assume you are out.

@YassQueen when do you think you ovulated? I'm fairly sure ovulated around 18th February, just over 2 weeks after ERPC. Would usually have tender breasts by now though and they are fine so half wondering if I'm wrong. I'm feeling greasy and cranky though so who knows! Even though we weren't trying I know I'll be half devastated when it starts so just want it over with. We can't try in April as DH will be away (similar to @Cariad) so I just feel like it's never going to happen.

TwittleBee · 14/03/2018 11:49

bless you Yass you have recently had a MC though haven't you? If I've recalled correctly. How far should you be in your cycle now? How are you holding up too? Flowers

YassQueen · 14/03/2018 11:41

No sign of AF yet. OPK negative. I just want out of this limbo at the moment. I want to be pregnant and I want it to stick :(

TwittleBee · 14/03/2018 11:35

June I am tempted to get one too! Let me know how you get on with it. Sucks that April is out for you though! blurgh.

CatRen like June said 11dpo is early still so Fx! I know how you feel though about maybe just accepting 3 as a family unit. Strange though because I feel like I either have to put it all in trying for #2 or stopping and decided to stick with the 3 of us. Not sure why I cant take a middle ground approach of "if it happens it happens!"

Stego sorry that AF has turned up. In middle of night too! urgh. that must have been bloody annoying. Good luck for April, I'm sure I'll see you there.

newmama welcome to TWW, I've recently entered it too. I am 2/3dpo!

So I am trying it out with Fertility Friend and Flo to track my cycles (previously I just had it on an excel sheet at work! haha) and I am pretty confused as both telling me different things. FF is claiming I ovulated CD 17 but Flo is saying CD18? I know everyone raves about FF but CD 17 is the date I got my POPK and the instructions say you tend to ovulate 24-48hrs after the POPK? Any help here with this?

(Also I have attempted to track my BBT this cycle as DS seems to be sleeping more regularly now, think my BBT chart actually looks right too)

newmama2018 · 14/03/2018 10:54

Well I'm about to enter the tww. Got my positive opk yesterday so tomorrow I will be 1DPO. Today is what I call "limbo day" 😆 good luck everyone testing xx

MynameisJune · 14/03/2018 10:09

Sorry for the bfn @cat but you know it’s too early 😁 I really hope it is your month though.

I’m totally out for an April bfp already as DH is away when I usually ovulate and I thought about taking supplements to delay it but that takes us to Easter weekend when I’ll have my DN staying over!

stegosauruslady · 14/03/2018 10:08

AF arrived on day 27 (bloody early for me!) in the middle of the fucking night. DP is a bit disappointed, I expected it.

However, he is on board with shagging when he is told to next month...so onwards! I hope everyone who is left gets their BFP, so I don't see any of you on the April bus!

CatRen27 · 14/03/2018 04:22

Its just such a load of old shite isn't it.. Sorry you ladies are really feeling it right now. Its hard not to internalise why its not happening for us and others have it so much easier. It's just the way it is though i guess and just have to trust that we're doing everything we can and leave it to chance beyond that.

Ive taken a slightly different approach this month, just finding the whole thing ridiculous.. month after month of bfns and disappointment.. it just feels different this month i could just laugh.

Sooo another bfn this morning at 11dpo. Starting to get used to the idea of it just being dh, dd and me.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 19:46

@paranormal thank you, hope yours arrives soon as well.

@cariad thank you, I’ve decided to buy the Ava bracelet I think. I can’t temp because of waking up at wilding different times most days. It has never worked. This kind of does it for you. Not cheaper but then only about the same as clear blue monitor and 6 months of test strips. Although Apple are missing a trick not creating an app to do the same thing.

One of the reasons I’ve decided not to limit life for TTC is so that we don’t feel like life is slipping away whilst waiting for that elusive bfp. And as you say so many people get pregnant without needing to do all this stuff!

I ask DH earlier if we should just give up, he definitively said no and that nothing worth having ever comes easy. So I’m trying to remember that and not get hung up on age gaps and kids getting along etc!

Cariad2017 · 13/03/2018 18:21

Sorry to hear AF has arrived Mynameis. I shall be keeping everything crossed that you get your BFP very very soon.

Like both Paranormal and Mynameis, I’ve been trying to get my head around having to draw a line under ttc at some stage and accept that DS will be an only. It’s very very tough. Getting to DS took 11 months, a cp and an ectopic, so I anticipated that if we were very unlucky, this time around it might be quite similar... I never expected to be in a position where 20 cycles (and 16 months in) even conception was nigh on impossible....

DH was really positive for the first year or so, but even though he’s typically positive person, he’s also struggling to believe that it will ever happen now.

I hate the bleakness of it all... I hate feeling like we’ve moved mountains every month; cancelled nights out; timed dtd to perfection; turned down alcohol; limited caffeine, only to be confronted with a stark white test strip yet again (accompanied almost invariably by at least one pregnancy announcement from someone who you know did literally none of the above).

Paranormalbouquet · 13/03/2018 15:31

I’m glad it’s turned up, nothing worse than when it plays tricks.

I’m keen to get my period so I can plan moving on. I’m pretty sure I ovulated just over 2 weeks post erpc but usually have super tender breasts after ovulation and nothing so far this month. Would be due period Sunday/Monday so suppose there’s time.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 15:23

After all that af has finally arrived, so must have ovulated super late (for me) in my cycle this month. Well at least now I can move on to the next cycle, even though DH is away all month!

TwittleBee · 13/03/2018 15:14

Paranormal and June sending you both hugs and hope you both book lovely holidays!

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 14:46

@paranormal yes our first port of call would be testing at our local fertility clinic before IVF. I had a pelvic scan and that looked fine but possibly there is a blockage or something.

My MC was 5 weeks so like you I coped pretty well and went back to work the next day because I couldn’t face sitting around and thinking about it. I’m just so desperate now to get pregnant again that another loss i think would floor me.

I was talking to DH about a holiday, we need to plan something in. Life can’t be all about work and TTC. I have a long weekend away in May but I was really hoping to be pregnant by that point.

Paranormalbouquet · 13/03/2018 13:49

@MynameisJune I don’t think it’s mad, I think it’s normal to want to avoid intervention. Might be worth having tubes looked at before thinking IVF?

I’m quite sure my bloods will all be normal (other than anaemia which hopefully is improving now) as I’m sure the cause is adhesions and in reality they aren’t very easily fixable.

I coped very well with first two miscarriages, perhaps because both were around 5-6 weeks and seemed more like a heavy period, passed quickly. The MMC was physically very very hard and I’m not coping very well. I’m sure it’s no coincidence I’ve got a horrible dental abscess just as it finished. Perhaps a holiday is needed where we forget about TTC, surgeries, miscarriages and just enjoy being a family.

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 13:35

@paranormal we’ve had the basic GP bloods and I’ve had an internal pelvic scan. All fine, DH has his SA done, all fine. I’m tempted to go private for further testing but I’m really not sure. I got pregnant last September and we have DD so we know it can happen it does just seem to take a while. Next cycle is 6 months from the MC, it was 6 months from properly trying to getting the bfp in October but in reality we hadn’t been using any contraception since 2008. But I’m kind of pinning all my hopes on us conceiving every 6 months. Madness I know. I do worry about another MC as well, I don’t know if I’d cope at all.
