Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Been*

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/03/2018 16:54

@MynameisJune. I would - the receptionist told me mine had ben filed as normal, maybe be because I have PCOS? I got a bit grumpy and said "How can below 1 be normal?!" Lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/03/2018 16:52

@WonkyDonk87. I have a spare test form so I can book in for next week to have it tested again.

MynameisJune · 16/03/2018 16:46

@looking so sorry for the rubbish results. So frustrating that everything takes so long. I’d definitely push for weekly tests until af arrives or they get higher. Huge hugs x

My results came back as normal but I’m going to request the actual numbers from the GP now I think no see what they were.

WonkyDonk87 · 16/03/2018 15:52

Oh Looking that must be so frustrating. The NICE guidelines say that you should repeat the 21 day progesterone test every week until AF, could you point that out to your GP? There's things they can do for low progesterone but IME you need to ask directly x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/03/2018 13:38

Well AF probably isn't coming any time soon! I got my results back and they were less than 1! I got sit and cry. Even if I'd only just ovulated a few days ago they'd be higher than that! That's like progesterone on the first day of Flo! The most annoying thing was, my registered GP (I never see him) filed it as "normal" I was the WTF. I have an appointment on the 26th to see a GP. I'm only cd23 so I guess I could still ovulate but it's not looking great. All the dtd we've done over the last 22 days from a ttc point of view has been pointless! Sad

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/03/2018 10:22

I'm hoping by lunch time that I will have my Day 21 bloods back. I will be pretty gutted if it comes back that I haven't, I know it's fixable but it's just the thought that you've essentially wasted month after month!

My symptoms have been odd this month, I've been super emotional all month. I had some major bloating mid cycle, which I thought was ov but then the last few days, blood streaked watery/ewcm. I've not slept great the last few nights, which usually means flo isn't far off. Normally I'd be starving before AF now but I wouldn't be bothered if I couldn't eat all day today.

We have dtd the last two nights though, just in case the cm is because I'm fertile.

DoAsDreamersDo · 16/03/2018 09:15

Sorry that you're all feeling so shit ladies. I'm really hoping that there will be some good news for people over the weekend.

WonkyDonk87 · 16/03/2018 08:33

They were with me Bubble - crossing everything for you xxx

Bubblegum89 · 16/03/2018 08:19

Tingly nipples are defo a pregnancy sign aren’t they...? 🙄 can’t believe I’m still doing this to myself even though I know that af is 100% going to show up this weekend as I’ve had all my usual tww “symptoms” lol

SoozC · 16/03/2018 07:24

Sorry to hear it, Wonky.

Twelve days of sore breasts and they're back to normal today. Guess this means my progesterone has dropped and AF is on the way. I'm so fed up, it's not even here and I'm crying. FFS.

MynameisJune · 15/03/2018 20:32

@bubble sorry you’re feeling down. I keep looking at my old tests from DD and wondering if I’ll ever see those two lines again. And then if I do will it be a sticky bean. There is no way I can do this for years again.

@sooz keeping everything crossed for you.

@jaggy good luck with the appointment. Hopefully the holiday and lots of ‘relaxed’ dtd will do the trick this month.

SoozC · 15/03/2018 18:58

And now I'm trying not to think too much about my slight cramps and if they mean anything (only about 8-11 dpo).

Baby bomb today, group of women gossiping about it in the staffroom: "Have you seen she keeps stroking her bump?" "She must be more than 12 weeks." "How old is she anyway?" "I'm not ready to have children." Blah blah bollocks. I'd have left except I was eating lunch.

Sorry for UTI, Looking.

Sorry you're down, Bubble. On one hand it's good to be positive and hope but on the other hand we know we're unlikely to get it.

@Bubblegum89. I know What you mean, I couldn't do this for years

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/03/2018 14:58

@Bubblegum89. I'm cd 22 of however many days my body decides it wants my cycle to be! It was 26 days last time.

Bubblegum89 · 15/03/2018 14:50

Looking that sucks, whereabouts in your cycle are you at the minute? And I was feeling a teeny bit hopeful until I started PMS’ing and my boobs started to get a little bit sore. How people do this for years and years, I’ll never know. They’re stronger women than me that’s for sure

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/03/2018 14:48

@Bubblegum89. Yeah it sucks as I got all excited this morning over some blood streaked ewcm but it was probably uti related :-(

Bubblegum89 · 15/03/2018 14:33

Thanks ladies. I promised myself I would stop feeling shitty all the time but it’s hard.

Sorry to hear af showed chooklass I’ll be joining you in the misery in a few days

Oh no looking UTI’s are awful :( hope you feel better soon

jaggy lots of luck for your next appointment :) I’m the same as you, stupidly let myself at hopeful then the next day I’m back to my usual “why am I barren?” self

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/03/2018 14:11

I'm having a sucky, bleary eyed day! I thought I'd got a bad case of PMS or PCOS in my case lol as my mood for the last 10 days has been up and down and I've been crying at things - Everything actually lol. Turns out, probably as a result of dtd so often, I have a UTI! The Dr has left me out a prescription for antibiotics. Stupid lady garden!

Chooklass · 15/03/2018 12:17

Aw @Jaggy I hope your appt goes ok. Know exactly what you mean about feeling sad but happy. I'm genuinely happy for pregnant/ parent friends but can't help feeling sorry for myself at same time, then feeling like a terrible, selfish person!

JaggyJobby · 15/03/2018 12:03

@Chooklass sorry to hear about AF and the really short cycle.

@Bubblegum89 awch man, I know the feeling. I've never seen the second line form either. Hope youre doing okay x

Got my next doctors appointment on Monday. Going through horribly hopeful phases and then back to being convinced I'll never have kids, bleh. Just been visiting someone with an adorable baby and lovely new house too, so happy for them yet so sad for me.

Chooklass · 15/03/2018 09:50

I'm only on CD 20! Shortest cycle ever! 😟

MynameisJune · 15/03/2018 09:45

@chook sorry for af arriving, seems particularly cruel when you’re least expecting it. All the wine for you tonight.
