Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

@Biscay congratulations, anything different this cycle?

@catherine1988 there's a female dr at my surgery that is lovely but it's usually a 4 week wait for an appointment with her so I might just go for pot luck and see whoever is free first as I want to get things moving now.

Highwater · 12/02/2018 18:57

Congratulations @biscay that's amazing news!!

MynameisJune · 12/02/2018 17:20

I’ve just ordered some 5000mcg Maca root tablets from Amazon. So much for not taking anything 😂 to be fair it said they help energy levels and I need that as well as the super fertility power!!

LexieJean · 12/02/2018 17:01

Well @milk anything that can help me get feisty this far into TTC is worth it. Plus just found it half price in Holland and Barrett! 😂

That’s what I thought @bama I’m up for anything now!

bama4 · 12/02/2018 16:11

@LexieJean haven't heard of Maca powder before but got to be worth a try

LexieJean · 12/02/2018 16:03

Oh @biscay that’s great news, Congratulations! 🎉 don’t worry- I’ll have a real ale for you 😊

catherine1988 · 12/02/2018 15:58

I got my amh results at 21 and was told that was fine, does that sound fine? I panicked and didn't ask the limits. I don't want to phone back now and come off like the crazy I am. Does anyone have them?

SoozC · 12/02/2018 15:08

Congrats Biscay

Anyone heard of Maca powder?! Just reading an article about Anna Friel and saw this. Am obviously now going to google it furiously but thought I’d share with my fellow yammers too!

@MynameisJune I'm still in shock. Can't believe it. I got my bfp this morning yammers. AF due and wanted to go and drink real ale with DP so did a test to rule it out and boom - BFP. Shock

Pinkemi · 12/02/2018 14:20

Afternoon all. So I did an FSH at home test this morning and it has come back negative (phew!) So at least I know that my issue isn't low AMH and high FAN, but just low AMH. Been on the phone to my doctors to try and get testing done (Like to check for vitamin D levels) and stupidly mentioned that we had a private fertility check done. They are insiting that they get a copy of the results before seeing me. :-( Turns out I don't have a copy of my scan annoyingly but I have the rest... why are these things never simple!!

catherine1988 · 12/02/2018 14:09

@lexijean @sooz I wasn't really one for tests anyway like I only used ovulation sticks once. I used a pregnancy test on month 2 and 3 when I was excited about ttc then month 14 when I was 3 days late. I thought doctor's suggestion was a helpful one.

One of the girls I work with didn't know she was pregnant with #2 till 7 months in. I've spent 18 month staring at the gusset of my knickers and some people don't even notice. Symptom spotting can go f* itself.

I called at 11 for the results and no one has called back, I wonder what it feels like to not wait for stuff.

Serious infertility rage 😡 might have some yams for dinner

MynameisJune · 12/02/2018 14:09

@biscay I’ve just seen your other thread!!!

SoozC · 12/02/2018 13:40

Yeah, I have up on tests ages ago! I like to think I've saved myself a small fortune that has otherwise been spent on clothes Grin

@catherine I got my amh back last week- 8.Something and supposed to be 12ish. So a bit low but the consultant wasn’t concerned. I was concerned though. 😬

Good tip with the pg tests too- I’m just not bothering until I’m waaaay late. It’s just not worth the disappointment for me.

catherine1988 · 12/02/2018 13:17

@rhibee29 fingers crossed you don't have to make the appointment. Do you like your doctor?

SoozC · 12/02/2018 13:02

Rhi, I'm not sure, based on ewcm I'd say 8dpo though. Very early, anyway!

FF has me ovulating on cd8. I'm like "pfft", since when have I ever ov'd that early?! I'm sticking with my instinct of 8dpo.

Yeah, June, I'm clasping at straws! But I've been charting two years now and it's definitely not normal for me. Before I got my bfp in Oct I definitely had a strange hunger/nausea thing going on, it made me think that perhaps I was preggers. So I'm remembering that while trying to remain realistic.

Just a normal tww, then!

RhiBee29 · 12/02/2018 12:57

Fingers and toes crossed for you @Milknosugar1

How many dpo are you @SoozC?

If af rocks up on Saturday I'm calling gp first thing Monday. 23rd feb marks 1 year since Mirena was removed Sad

MynameisJune · 12/02/2018 12:51

@sooz just to balance it out I often get nausea after/around ovulation and in the tww. Always made me hopeful until the 4th or 5th time it happened.

Hope it actually does mean something for you!

catherine1988 · 12/02/2018 12:45

I was told by the doctor not to do any tests or get my hopes up until 2 weeks late. I don't know if that helps or not but I've saved a fortune in pregnancy tests.

I'm waiting for a call back with my amh results, has anyone else got this done?
