Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Yammers! Can I go to an ivf open evening by myself? It starts at 5:30 and there’s no way my OH can get there on time. Am I going to feel weird being there alone?

LexieJean · 18/02/2018 13:31

@sooz I think my acupuncture has affected my af a bit- this last one was heavier and 4 days of cramping when I used to get 1 or 2. Obviously everybody is different but that’s what my acupuncturist wanted- more blood for me.

MynameisJune · 18/02/2018 11:52

@sooz have you taken a test? I know a few people who had what they thought was a period but were actually pregnant!

TTC is more mentally exhausting than having a new born but you’ll find your worries go from TTC worries, to pregnancy worries, to ‘oh my god am I doing this right’ with a baby. So TTC is good for preparing you for the constant worrying 😂

Chooklass · 18/02/2018 11:49

@RhiBee29 That is odd! I can't even think of an explanation!

Si1ver · 18/02/2018 11:42

Have you taken a test Sooz?

SoozC · 18/02/2018 11:36

*just brown now

SoozC · 18/02/2018 11:35

Definitely reassuring, Bubble. DH will find it less stressful too, I imagine, without me obsessing day and night and constantly inputting whenever we dtd into my apps!

I don't spot brown before af, but occasionally spot pink. That's why I thought my two days of pink spotting were right on time. But just brown. I'm thinking the acupuncture has something to do with it; clearing me out maybe. I'm cramping again now, FFS, I never have two days of cramps!

@Chooklass I didn't get a positive opk this cycle, not even a tinge on the stick just blank white, this happened when I had a bfp with DS and last time I had a bfp...so weird!

Chooklass · 18/02/2018 11:12

@Bubblegum89 Oh great! (runs away to by condoms...) lol

Bubblegum89 · 18/02/2018 11:08

Chooklass if anything, this whole nightmare will fully prepare you to easily deal with a child lol

bama4 · 18/02/2018 11:07

Congrats @RhiBee29 🎉

Chooklass · 18/02/2018 11:03

That's sort of reassuring @Bubblegum89! Sometimes I think if 'I can't cope with this part should I be doing this at all?!'

Bubblegum89 · 18/02/2018 10:55

Chooklass I can confirm that ttc is WAY more stressful than raising a child. I’ve had more sleepless nights this last 18 months than I had the whole time my daughter was a baby

Chooklass · 18/02/2018 10:48

Sorry your body is mucking you about @SoozC. I find all the wondering at this time of the cycle totally exhausting, really wears me out mentally. I would never have imagined prior to TTC how tiring it is (makes me worried about how tiring actually being pg or having a child is!!)

Bubblegum89 · 18/02/2018 10:48

I was late too Sooz should have started af yesterday morning but I’m only getting my proper pre-af brown spotting today. But I’m also getting some niggly cramps so she’ll be here soon! I’ve put my mooncup in ready lol Must have ovulated a day later than I thought. I need af over and done with so I can start ttc again. Hopefully yours stays away :)

SoozC · 18/02/2018 10:27

Congrats Rhi.

Not sure what to think here: bad af cramps yesterday and had two days of pink spotting and a day of brown spotting. Dtd last night which I felt sure would bring on af but just brown spotting again today. I am confused but as I don't know exactly when I ov'd I guess I might not be late yet. I would have said I'm 14dpo today. God, I hate my body.

Congrats Rhibee :)

Chooklass · 18/02/2018 10:07

@RhiBee29 Congratulations! Maybe you ovulated later than you thought?

Echoing everyone else's Marvelous March wishes ... though I'm not out for Feb yet! 10/11 dpo here and total lack of any symptoms of any sort so far. Been spotting since 4dpo which is normal for me but always makes me think I can't be pg. Think I'm going to try B complex/ vit B6 next cycle as someone mentioned it might help with spotting and I feel the need to keep trying new things (inspired by @SoozC 's list!!) x

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 18/02/2018 09:56

@RhiBee29 could just be late implantation or ovulation!

DoAsDreamersDo · 18/02/2018 09:53

Here’s to marvellous March, except RhiBee who is having fabulous February because that looks like a BFP to me 🤞

Hope you’re doing ok today Limp , thinking of you x

RhiBee29 · 18/02/2018 09:44

I'm off to Asda when it opens for a FRER. Why do we have Sunday opening hours?! Just worried that no bfp until 15dpo might mean hcg is low and it won't stick.

Cariad2017 · 18/02/2018 09:38

That definitely looks like a line Rhi. Enormous congratulations! Xx

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 18/02/2018 09:14

Seconding @Milknosugar1's post - am also still here quietly watching and wishing you all well.

Looks positive @RhiBee29! Can you grab a FRER and hold your wee for a bit?
