Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

@Chooklass thanks! We dtd for the past 2 days - did another opk last night and it was the same colour as the last one so I will do a couple more today and hope they are darker!

Chooklass · 20/02/2018 05:44

12dpo and feeling completely un-hormonal this month. No sore boobs, no pre-af downer (yet), can't help thinking I didn't ov this month? Ttc is so crazy - I feel better than I have done for months and all I can do is worry about why!!

Chooklass · 20/02/2018 05:41

@bama4 I would get dtd if I were you! Your last opk looks nearly +ve. I ov between CD10 and 14 and my cycles vary between 24 and 28 days.

bama4 · 19/02/2018 21:47

@Bubblegum89 fingers crossed this is a proper period for you!! And yay to booking the holiday too! We are off away in July - almost never booked it way back when cause of ttc, how silly and annoyed I'd of been at myself now if I never had that to look forward to!
@FairyAnn sorry to hear you're feeling crappy - those days are the worst when they do come along. Sending hugs your way and hope you feel more positive tomorrow!
How are you doing @LimpLettice
@RhiBee29 pleased to hear you've got a strong line!
Sorry I've been pretty absent recently, ttc, work, and a load of other shit taking up all of my time - hoping all you lovely yammers are ok xx

Looking for some advice ladies
What day do you usually ovulate? I'm on cd 10 and have been doing opks for 4 days to get an idea
These are the order top to bottom in the picture
CD6 10pm
CD7 7pm
CD8 9am
And 1pm
CD9 9am
And 6pm
CD10 midday
And 6pm
Will do another today shortly as haven't been to the loo since 6pm
They look to be going the right way to me but I haven't done them this religiously before
One app is estimating I will ovulate on CD 17 and the other CD 19
My periods have been a bit off the past few months but average cycle length is 30-32 days. Also temping but I know that won't show anything until after I ovulate

When the going gets tough, the tough get Yams

@RhiBee29 congrats! Wahoo.

RhiBee29 · 19/02/2018 21:00

Thanks @QuietTime and @FairyAnn

Did a FRER this morning and got a good dark line so feeling a little reassured. I hope you don't mind me lurking for a bit, hoping you all have a marvellous March x

Bubblegum89 · 19/02/2018 20:47

FairyAnn since ttc I’ve found that it’s mostly people who don’t deserve to be pregnant/parents who have no problems having babies. I see them everywhere on Facebook and forums etc. People who put drugs and alcohol ahead of their children, who are abusive towards them. You only need to watch an episode of Jeremy Kyle to see a bunch of dads who couldn’t give a toss about their 12 kids they’ve had by 12 different women. Then I see tonnes of couples struggling to even have just one, couples who have loving homes and are genuinely good people. None of this is fair.

I remember reading that news article about the 13 children in America who were found tied to their beds and had been beaten and neglected by their parents. How come a couple like that was able to have 13 children? It makes no sense to me and I totally understand why anyone who was religious before ttc would easily lose their faith after a while.

FairyAnn · 19/02/2018 20:09

Congrats Rhi!

I need to vent Yammers. Does anyone else get angry when they read threads on MN where someone is with an absolute arse of a partner but they got pregnant 'anyway' and then go on about how they need to dump the bloke and care for their 'precious little one'. They never do and then a few months down the line, they're back on here, complaining and most likely pregnant again.

My partner would love to be a dad and it kills me we just can't make it happen. I get so angry at these people who can't stay out of the pub for five minutes, or even be nice to the person they're supposed to love, having babies so damn easily!

Sorry, I'm so emotional today. Cried so much already and can't shake it off.

Ahahahaaaaa! My HT said today they wanted me to go into Year 6 next year! I said no and gave them a Look! (Then I said we were still ttc so they wouldn't really want me in year 6 if I ended up leaving halfway through the year. Wishful thinking, I know, but it's a good excuse to get me out of Year 6, anyway, especially as I'll probably be there for the full year!)

Lucky escape!

I'm confused and slightly annoyed. I rang up for my progesterone results and they said the were 17 - they also said this was normal! I thought they were supposed to be 30+?? I am having another progesterone draw on day 28 as I have an irregular cycle - should I be panicking yet?

Bubblegum89 · 19/02/2018 13:12

Thanks limp I hope it does! How are you doing?

Yesterday af started and it was the normal flow I usually get on day 1 except there was no red bleeding, it was dark brown. Usually if I get any red bleeding it’s only on day 1 of af but today instead of my flow being super light and only brown like it usually is, I’m having the same flow as yesterday (if not a tiny bit heavier) and it’s now dark red. I had to readjust my mooncup as I had a bit of leakage which I wasn’t expecting because on cd2 I lose maybe half a teaspoon of brown blood and usually don’t even bother wearing my mooncup at all by the end of the day. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much but could this maybe be because of the HyCoSy? My periods are usually so pathetic and I haven’t had two days worth of “decent” flow in a long time. I’m cramping today as well and usually only cramp on day one. I’m hoping that maybe fiddling about in my uterus has had some kind of positive impact on my periods. Then again, I don’t know if that’s even possible and this isn’t just a coincidence 🤔 sorry for rambling haha

QuietTime · 19/02/2018 13:11

Hi yammers; am still lurking and just wanted to say congrats to rhi

Sorry AF flow isn't any better bubblegum, was hoping the Hycosy might have helped

Hope you're doing as well as can be expected, limp, take care xx

SoozC · 19/02/2018 12:46

Hi Milk, thanks! I just tend to knock them all back in the morning with a big glass of water...

I see more thread congrats are in order Rhi, that's lovely.

Very glad you've booked your holiday Bubblegum, it'll do you so much good.

Bubblegum89 · 18/02/2018 22:21

Thanks Sooz going to mention it at my next FC appointment.

In other news, we just booked a holiday for the summer because screw all of this, I’ve had enough and I just want to slob around a pool drinking daiquiris and not caring about ttc for a while

LexieJean · 18/02/2018 21:48

Ok booked myself into the ivf open evening.

I’ve got Maca powder not pills- didn’t want to add to my rattling but now I’m not sure how to use the powder! 🤦‍♀️

SoozC · 18/02/2018 20:32

My little collection of pills is growing! I had a happy 20 mins in Boots then another 10 mins in Holland & Barrett stocking up and buying new ones. I've gone from 5 to 7; lucky 7!! 😂

Sorry to hear it, Bubble. :(

Af properly here now, albeit a bit lighter. But more painful! Grr.

OP posts:
SoozC · 18/02/2018 20:27

Lexie, yeah, I think the acupuncture is responsible for a weird af. Still very light and more cramping than usual but at least it's red now.

I decided against progesterone cream but am taking maca root after reading lots about its fertility-boosting powers!

SparkwoodAnd21 · 18/02/2018 18:50

Eeeeee congratulations Rhi!

ronswansonstache · 18/02/2018 18:38

Lexie I think my acupuncture has made a difference too - I've just had my first cycle over 28 days since last July. I had a lot of spotting beforehand though - it started CD24. Of course I convinced myself it was implantation bleeding and ended up POAS CD28.

Sooz the spotting sounds a bit like what you're having - brown, then nothing then pink... Hope AF stays away for you though!

Bubblegum89 · 18/02/2018 18:02

Ugh I thought I might have a half decent period this month after my HyCoSy but it’s tye worst one yet. I’ve had just brown bleeding today, no red at all and after day one I only get brown spotting. So annoying.
