So this morning.. This happened..

I've had the biggest drama in the world. My blood tests were great and normal, but my ultra sound showed that I have a 5cm 'mass' in my left ovary and I'm not ovulating at all from that ovary because this cyst is so big it's distorting the ovary - I have to have an operation to remove it, and potentially the ovary too! I'm so relieved they found it. It's innocent and nothing scary but just means conceiving has been difficult.

Buntingandstarcharts, I'm 36 so a bit older than you so I really need to get moving to stand a chance.

@buntingandstarcharts no I didn't take early tests but my period showed so no need now. I actually dealt with it better than I had imagined I would. I think I knew it wouldn't happen so quickly after the mc so on to next month for me. I think the surge lasts for 48 hours normally. Yer I would say you have had your surge now, I think the line is normally stronger than the control line when it's positive. That all sounds really good then, I wouldn't imagine you would get strong positives like that if you weren't ovulating? No harm in keep trying whatever. I have everything crossed for you as you are entering the dreaded 2ww. Sending lots of 'positive' vibes your way.. In every sense of the word. Xx

@LG88 have you done an early test? I sometimes find it easier to see a negative than my period! We are continuing to try and then my doc said he would call with test results tomorrow. I'm nervous. My ovulation sticks are positive and I've read it's only super rare that ovulation wouldn't happen with the LH surge, I'm just hoping the sonographer got it wrong! Also, how many days do you have an LH surge for (aka positive opk)? I had super clear positives which was great and today it looks like this.... would you say it's negative now?

@buntingandstarcharts oh gosh, how very confusing for you!! It's always the worst thing not knowing isn't it, doesn't matter if its good news or bad it just feels better knowing what you are dealing with. When will you see your GP? Are you continuing to try for the time being as there doesn't seem a reason not to? You must be coming towards ovulation? I am OK, period is due the end of this week and I am dreading how I am going to feel when it happens. Just feel like it is going to be a low after I have finally just about pulled myself together. Devon is beautiful, I love living here right by the seaside. If you ever feel like a weekend away to get away from it all the sea is always a fabulous distraction. 💕😘 Thinking of you lots. Xx

@LG88 so sorry I've been so useless with replying because I've been trying so hard to be chilled about it all Basically, I had two blood tests - both normal and then this scan which showed this cyst. The sonographer has said it was probably stopping ovulation and may need removing, im now awaiting an appointment with my GP to discuss further. My doctor friend has said she would be shocked if a sonographer could tell about the ovulation not happening just by looking at a scan pic and that I shouldn't take what she said as definitely true. Meh. Just want to know so I can sort it all out in my head! How are you? I'd love to one day go for a cute coffee with our babies.... if they ever happen! Devon is lovely, lucky you! Whys new with you and how are you feeling? X

Ah @buntingandstarcharts I'm so pleased that you are feeling positive. It is good news really in a round about way because once this is sorted it will probably happen pretty quickly for you. I guess you will double your chances. I don't know loads about it but I'm pretty sure it is a relatively small op that she has to remove them. They come back for her so she has to go every now and again to have them removed so it cant be a big deal and I don't think it will hold you up TTC very much at all. Probably less than a month I would imagine. I think it will be a real change for you. Keep us updated on how you get on. I'm doing OK thank you. Period is due next week and although I feel fine about it now I'm sure I am going to be really sad to see it arrive. 😣 I live in Devon but pretty sure I remember you saying your in London? My sister lives in London so I visit and you could always come for a trip to the seaside. 😊 Xx

@LG88 thanks for your positivity, strangely I feel positive too! I'm so glad there's a reason why this is taking so long and without a glimmer of pregnancy I did think something didn't seem right! I'm pleased to know your sis in law gets them too (poor her but glad for me) do know how long he recovery is and have her cysts been on or inside? It's nice to know the experiences of others to compare etc. I'm just worried if the recovery is ages and the cycle is affected then we will have to wait ages to conceive- really that's my biggest concern. How are you @LG88? Yes let's meet with our babies one day! Where also you live? X

Oh @buntingandstarcharts I am so so sorry to hear of this added complication for you BUT (and I don't claim to be an expert) I did think cysts were relatively easy and uncomplicated to remove? My sister in law gets them but has had them removed in the past. If this is the case and that has been what has been causing a problem for you ttc this may really be the turning point for you. You know now and can get everything underway to get it sorted and it's like you are starting fresh. (please don't want to punch me in the face, I know how shitty it all feels when you are in it- trust me!!) just feel like we have to try to remain positive for each other with everything that has happened recently. We will get through this together.. And hey, maybe one day we will meet up with our babies. sending lots of love and big hugs your way. Xx

I had a scan today and I have an ovarian cyst blocking one Fallopian tube which means I'm not ovulating from that side. I'm gutted as I will need to have it removed and I don't know how that affects baby making and whether it will delay it 😪

@LG88 the past two days I have been so tired to the point I’m not getting out of bed till 11/12 (I finish work around 11pm) used to get up at 8 still! And today I have been so bloated to the point that it feels like I’m going to pop!!! What about you? Xxx

@JigglyBlueCat very similar time wise to me then, I think I should be due on around 21st or 22nd from when I ovulated but I have no idea if this cycle will be a bit different after the miscarriage last month. I have to remember not to get my hopes up if it doesn't arrive on time as it is not likely to have happened so quickly after the miscarriage and that my cycles may be out. I know what you mean, I try everything to keep my mind off it all. The days seem to drag so badly when you just want to know. do you have any symptoms? I have literally everything crossed for you. Xx

@buntingandstarcharts the doctors have been pretty useless, they pretty much just said that we were dtd to often. This was on cycle 12 and have tried everything possible so will be going back to them soon!

@buntingandstarcharts I am 29 and this will be cycle 7 for me, I have no idea what to expect this month though because I don't know how much the mc will have knocked my cycles out. how old are you? When are you due to ovulate? Xx

Am just starting the tww! I’m really hoping this month is the month! This is cycle 14 and feeling rather deflated at the moment :( my best wishes to everyone!

Thanks fingers crossed been waiting over a year to be in the right position to try and support a baby so we are very keen for it to happen x

@LG88 hurray you ovulated! @RobynC19 good luck - us 3 Long timers here are on 6 months + trying! So hopefully you won't have to wait as long as us! How old are you @LG88 ? I've never asked! And @Hopefulbunny ?
