Another 'is this a valid line'?

I'm now on CD40 and tested earlier in the week with a negative result.

I got fed up waiting for my period (and suspicious!), so tested this morning with a Boots own brand '5 days early response' test and got this result, read after 3 minutes but before 15.

This is all feeling so surreal, I have endometriosis and PCOS and have been off contraception for a while with nothing happening, so I'm sat here shaking trying to get my head around the fact this might be a positive result?

So... MN jury, could this be a positive?

Is there a tried and tested brand that anyone recommends for a 'confirmation' test? I've read that Clear Blue aren't always that great?!?

I told DH last night (he unwrapped the tests with a very puzzled look on his face while I sat there with a big grin on my face)... It was incredibly sweet, he said that he's 'terricited' (terrified and excited - terrified of anything going wrong because he really wants the baby). He's accompanied me to appointments and knows what could go wrong given my history, so he's in overprotective mode.

DH also reminded me that we actually DTD in early January too (I forgot!), so my (unspoken fears) about the risk of late implantation may be unfounded.

This is our first pregnancy so I'm just keeping fingers crossed and feeling relieved, if anything, that we're actually capable of conceiving. At least if I miscarry we can still hold onto that.

I've booked a GP appointment for Monday, this is all seeming far more real now!

NewYearNiki, I'm really sorry I couldn't give you the reassurance you wanted. Please don't give up hope, though, as there are plenty of women with PCOS who conceive in their late 30s/40s (my SIL being one of them, her first was born at 42, second at 45). Flowers

NewYearNiki, I don't mind, I'm 30.
Are you TTC? It might be worth talking to your GP about Metformin if you're not already on it. My cycles do still seem irregular (33-38 days), but much better compared with when I wasn't taking it (33 - 50 days!). It gave me a little bit more predictability, as it helps to regulate hormones... (Mind you, I was convinced we'd missed ovulation this cycle, so perhaps trying to predict isn't worth it!).

I've wrapped the tests up and left them on the bed... Hopefully the cats don't get to them before DH does (the youngest cat tried to 'help' me wrap)! Grin

I don't think DH will be home until about 10/11 pm, so I haven't told him yet and I'm still not sure how I'll do it... I suppose I'll probably just show him the tests (or line them up on his pillow as suggested)!

Well mama, I did buy a two pack of clear blues... Mostly because it's better value and I was convinced it would be negative so I could use the spare another cycle. Hmm I need to give myself a good talking to!

DH is going to be very happy, but he's out with a friend all evening and I want to tell him in person... I'll need to try to stay awake. Arrgh!

Ohh lovely updates!! They look more positive by the hour!
When I was pregnant I was test mad too after a miscarriage so I used to take the clear blue like every week. I’m sure that is terrible advice as it will make you more anxious but it did actually help me to see it increasing 1-2 2-3 etc.
Anyway absolute best of luck to you. Enjoy telling DH! X

Good advice.

I'm on pre-conception vitamins, well prepared!

I won't be testing again (clearly no need!) but just needed peace of mind that it wasn't all in my head!

Congratulations OP. I don’t think you can set much store by how dark or otherwise the test is- if it’s there it’s there. Stop testing now, take your vitamins and hope for the best!
