Anyone got any positive post miscarriage experiences?

We have been TTC for nearly five months.

Had a miscarriage at 5 weeks on 26th December.

We returned to TTC as soon as I stopped bleeding.

Now eagerly awaiting AF or am I being to hopefully in hoping for a BFP before AF?

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I know some Drs recommend a period first before trying (mine did over the phone) but as I'm sure it's mainly for dating reasons and we felt ready we continued as we were. It just felt right.

So want I BFP - The last five months has been such an emotional roller coaster.

I literally feel in no mans land at the moment not knowing what to expect.

Hi ladies. Hoping I can join for support. I found out a few days ago at an early scan that I had miscarried. Had erpc this morning. All went to plan according to drs. Gutted but determined to stay positive and move on and get my rainbow baby. So we’re planning to TTC as soon as the bleeding stop. It was my first ever BFP after a year of trying and it was the best day of my life seeing those two lines. I may not get my August baby as planned but I will get my baby.

Any tips or advice anyone can offer? Is it worth doing a Hpt to make sure it’s out my system first? And then my plan is to just use opks every day again until I get a positive and then try to DTD every other day. (That’s how we finally got our bfp)

Good luck to everyone on your journeys. And fingers crossed for BFPs and 🌈
X

@NelleB I have good days and bad days. At one point I was taking 3 IC's a day just to keep myself sane and level. Ultimately I just have to trust that my body knows what it's doing and realise that it is completely out of my control.

There is nothing that I can do to ensure this one sticks, and realistically know that if this one goes wrong it's because there was something wrong with the baby and is no reflection on me and anything I have done.

I already have a child so I know that my body can do it. So basically putting all my faith in my body to grow this one for as long as I can!

I am considering a scan at about 9 weeks as I can already feel my anxiety rising about the dating scan, but I just have to crack on and try and focus on other things!

NelleB · 17/01/2018 11:00

Oh thank you! I think we all need each other as it’s just a dreadful thing to experience xx

Patienceofatoddler · 17/01/2018 09:46

@NelleB

Thank You that really made me smile!

Congratulations and wishing you the best of luck Thanks

I don't know you but am so pleased for your wonderful news x x

@ShutTheFridgeUp can I ask how you have coped day to day staying positive and things?

VanillaSugarGlider · 17/01/2018 07:12

Very quickly and I'll come back to the thread later. 9 years, secondary infertility and 4 miscarriages between my two DCs. Another friend had similar but had 11 miscarriages between 1 and 2. 3rd child was a doddle. Will come back to the thread but keep positive OP x

I had an early loss in November and we were incredibly lucky and I fell pregnant in the next cycle. Currently 6+4

NelleB · 17/01/2018 07:02

@Patienceofatoddler
Hello... this is a very tentative post, I had a mmc at 5 weeks and 2 days on 16th December. I am now pregnant again at 4 weeks and 4 days. I need to make it to Monday before I can believe anything and then I will probably still be a nervous wreck. My three consecutive tests from Monday. Tuesday and today . Asda ones are rubbish incase anybody thinks 'ooo £3.50' like me. Saving my FRERS for the weekend. I hope this give you some hope x

Hi ladies, just wanted to comment to say I am in the same boat.

Early mc started on the 11th of December and was complete by 17th with hcg levels dropped confirmed by blood tests. Hpt done 3rd of Jan which was a negative.

No period in December but I thought I would try an OPK around the time I usually ovd in Jan and low and behold it was positive, I have had 4 days now of really strong lines (darker than the test line) so I am riding this crazy wave out... From what I can see from other ladies I could be double ovulating, it could be a hormone imbalance or even possibly a pregnancy but I am not getting carried away with myself!

We will get our rainbow babies when the time is right! Keep trying and stay positive! ❤️

SoozC · 16/01/2018 19:39

Sorry for your loss OP. The aftermath is definitely harder, I am still struggling 2 months on.

I had a mc at 7 weeks in November (ttc #1, the only bfp I've ever had, in 2 years of trying). My cycle after that was 36 days instead of my normal 29 days and my second cycle post-mc looks to be going to same way - cd29 passed last Saturday and I'm still waiting for af. So just be prepared for odd cycles and don't assume they'll go straight back to normal!

Look after yourself, allow yourself to grieve. I wouldn't wish a mc in my worst enemy, it is possibly the worst thing I've ever been through. Sorry for everyone else's losses too, especially those where the baby was nearer term x

strawberryblondebint · 16/01/2018 19:33

I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks. No period returned. I was pregnant and he's now a strapping 12 year old.

Bwe123 · 16/01/2018 19:31

I am so pleased to have found this thread, not that I yet have positive news to share but to hear from ladies that are in the same situation.
I had a mmc and an ERPC at the start of Oct.
I don't have any children and so after the initial excitement it felt like such a blow, which as some of you have mentioned seems to be getting worse the more the time passes with no BFP.
We have been ttc since, as we were told that the only reason to wait was for dating purposes, and am in the 2ww at the moment.
Typically it feels like everyone I know is pregnant and it feels so isolating. Flowers

Jessabean · 16/01/2018 18:17

Thanks @Patienceofatoddler wishing you lots of luck too!

Not at all you have every right to all of the rollercoaster of emotions that go with this business as much as anyone else. A wanted pregnancy is still a wanted pregnancy regardless & the hurt of MC is just as real!

Fingers crossed for you! Now to try and distract myself over next couple of weeks with my never ending pile of workSad...

Patienceofatoddler · 16/01/2018 08:28

Hi @Jessabean

I'm so sorry to hear what your going through as well.

I am blessed to have two children already - Which I think is one of the reasons I feel I can't talk about things as such.

What right do I have to be upset? - We have two children and I feel certainly people IRL just wouldn't understand.

Ditto I think I have ovulated now since so will see what the next three weeks brings. Just it's a huge roller coaster of emotions.

Wishing you the best of luck in the next few weeks! X

I haven't got any positive stories I'm afraid but I just wanted to join in as your situation is almost identical to mine currently.
I had been TTC my first for 4 months, fell pregnant in Nov but unfortunately miscarried over Christmas to new year period- started on Christmas Eve but actually miscarried naturally on 27th Dec. I was 8 weeks but pregnancy measured only 6 weeks on EPU scan.

Have been finding it really hard emotionally too since (agree emotional side of things is much harder than physical side).

Me and my husband have also started TTC straight after bleeding stopped - is so difficult not knowing if you'll go back to normal, ovulate late or not at all! Think I'm in 2wk wait now though providing things have gone back to normal so just trying to keep my fingers crossed! I hope all of us who are going through this get our BFP soon!

Oooocrikeyitscold · 16/01/2018 03:00

I remember feeling the same. I’m just BF my 5 month old though (I had two early MC in the space of 4 months and conceive DD 6 months post the first)

Wishing you lots of luck!

StargazyDrifter · 16/01/2018 02:36

I had my ERPC today - thank you @RaindropsAndSprkles for the wonderful story and lots of hugs, love and good vibes to @Patienceofatoddler, @shutupRuth and @Daisymalone. Flowers

Aah love Flowers.

peachesarenom · 15/01/2018 23:17

Hello everyone! I'm on the other mc thread but I had to tell RaindropsAndSparkles that your story made me burst out crying in a really happy way. Thank you xxx

RaindropsAndSparkles · 15/01/2018 22:54

What you are going through is shit. BUT we had a five week loss after DS2 was born (and died at 27 weeks). Things didn'tbreturn to normal after the mc as they had after the birth. Saw a gynaecologist privately who suspected an infection and advised not to try again until after investigations/my next apt with him. DH and I had a blazing row about trying again (we had one child and a history of trying and no full term birth). We had to make up Blush.

At the next apt I had to fess up I was pg. That pg had every complication: early bleed, placenta praevia (it moved), breach baby (moved). The consultant often said let's see if we can get to 28 weeks, I had 14 scans and was eventually induced at 41.5 weeks. Labour was 2 hours. She was bright pink, fat and screaming.

She was born 51 weeks after DS2 died. She is lying on the sofa with about two feet of long blonde hair behind her. She got an unconditional offer from Cambridge last Wednesday, so yes op, there are happy endings. I still remember the pain though.

It's heartbreaking but life moves on and eventually one comes to terms with it Flowers.

shutupRuth · 15/01/2018 22:51

@Patience it really does suck doesn’t it? It’s the not knowing and lack of control. Don’t know about you but before this happened I KNEW when I would be fertile, when I would ovulate and when AF was due. Now it’s just fingers crossed and hope for the best. But at the same time as being desperate to conceive again, I’m terrified that this might all happen again and I can’t face going back to where I was 3 weeks ago (don’t know about you but it feels like this has lasted months, not weeks). Feel free to PM me if you want some support, I don’t know anyone irl who has gone through this and it’s a very lonely confusing time xx

SnowiestMountain · 15/01/2018 22:50

I had an early MC in January (2012) at almost 7 weeks, was terrified to try again. Conceived at the first attempt in the September, brilliant really easy pregnancy compared to DS who had been a nightmare and now have a fantastic DD.

It's a horrendous experience but can be completely fine the next time around. Good luck Thanks

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 15/01/2018 22:48

Just to say, I had 2 children followed by 12 early MC’s, and had plenty in consecutive cycles. Aside from other issues that suddenly appeared after my first 2 children, I ended up getting my GP to refer me to Mr Shehata’s NHS clinic at Epsom hospital where I tested as having high natural killer cells. 13th attempt for a 3rd baby was our first cycle on prednisolone following his diagnosis, and she’s now 14 weeks old so worth looking into for anyone who has early losses

@shutupRuth I'm so sorry your in no mans land to- It's horrible isn't it.

I've actually found the last couple of weeks harder than the physical miscarriage which to some may seem odd.

Wishing you the best of luck in the coming weeks ❤️
