Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

Oh @sooz and @pirate here’s hoping 🤞!

@lookingat I love you call them dude vitamins! I have to totally nag mine to take his. I mean all the crap I have to go through and he has to swallow a pill. Or two now actually as he’s on Omega 3 cause the acupuncturist said so! He has v v low morphology- affected by drinking and smoking. But of course the consultant told me that when I was alone so OH convinced I made it up and it’s just to get him to stop smoking!! wish I’d thought of that months ago--as if I’d ever trick him

PirateWeasel · 11/01/2018 11:18

Sooz, I definitely get you. Today I'm feeling cranky and weird, so clearly ive conceived. Nothing to do with the australian flu going round the office. #wishfulthinking

SoozC · 11/01/2018 10:17

Big blue vein on one boob this morning (saw it after I'd posted), definitely reckon it's a sign. DH was grossed out when I told him!

It's probably not a sign. It was probably there before.

Fuck off, stupid body and brain!!!!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 11/01/2018 10:04

@DoAsDreamersDo. My DH hasn't been tested either but I've gently persuaded him to go if we don't get a bfp next week. His lifestyle isn't great and he has sleep apnea but he does take a dude vitamin, as I call them lol so I'm hoping that's make a bit of a difference.

DoAsDreamersDo · 11/01/2018 09:49

Yes, I often wonder that! Especially people who fall pregnant from just one go!!

Rubberduckies · 11/01/2018 09:37

Yeah what he said was really interesting - he said that morphology and count can take a while to change but that with motility it can be affected really quickly, he said that if they tested again a few days later it might be totally different! He also said that the morphology wasn't that bad, more borderline than low. The doctor made it sound like it was awful and we'd never get pregnant :( It does sound awful though, who knew that only having 3% normal shaped sperm is only borderline! How the actual fuck do any humans ever get pregnant!?

DoAsDreamersDo · 11/01/2018 09:19

Thanks Duckies that's really useful info. My DH hasn't been tested yet but I reckon his sperm is affected by his lifestyle so it's nice to know that a few simple changes might help (I'm completely in denial that it might be me that's the *issue!!)

Rubberduckies · 11/01/2018 08:59

I can't remember if I joined before.....but I have been lurking. For a while.

We're TTC number 1, now on cycle 9. Husband was getting really anxious and stressed so we got tests done to reassure us. My progesterone is a bit low and I've got a short LP, and Dhs SA showed low count, low motility and low morphology. Balls. Well that backfired!!! The Gp was really unhelpful and didn't seem to really understand the results and wasn't able to explain them much other that the count is low and there were many abnormal ones....and tell us to come back and retest in 3mnths.

Only good thing was that I spotted that his concentration and total sperm count didn't add up. Dh (eventually after arguing and me stropping) phoned the lab and actually they made a mistake and the calculations were wrong, so although concentration is a bit low, his total count is ok because he produced so much!

The lab guy chatted him through the results and obviously knew what he was talking about and was able to say it wasn't that bad. He gave lots of advice and said that motility can be really affected by lifestyle changes, and heat and said looser pants definitely a good idea so he's finally going to do that and is giving up alcohol completely.

So if anyone's Gp is useless about the SA definitely try the actual lab, they might be able to explain it better!

👋 hello everyone! I’m still here, thanks for the new thread @bubble I’m so happy to have you yammers to vent to/question/support but I do wish some of us hadn’t been on so many of these infertile threads.
I’m cycle 15 now, but defo out as HSG meant condom last month (weird) Af due Monday.
Second sesh of acupuncture last night, was actually v relaxing after stressful couple of days at work. @armygirl no it’s not that lady but I guess with Chinese medicine there’s going to be various rules etc they all follow. At the moment it’s helping me feel like I’m doing something rather than just waiting for the chat with our consultant at the SUB fertility clinic 😫

SoozC · 11/01/2018 07:26

I can't trust my boobs! (Not something you hear everyday!) I think they're still how they were before my mc, they still look like pregnancy boobs to me! So no bloody help in my quest to convince myself I'm preggers this cycle.

On the plus side, my fitbit tells me my resting heart rate has gone up by 1 bpm, so I'm taking that as another surefire sign!

Summer1986 · 11/01/2018 03:23

Hello ladies, just checking in. Sorry to see so many familiar names from the first 2 threads.
Wishing you all lots of bfps for the New thread x

Armygirl :( but you never know. Here's hoping! Sorry your DH is away for so long.

Sooz bah ha! Yup. Totes. I'm also obviously pregnant, because I didn't take a test before AF arrived in late December, so despite having had a period in the last 2-3 weeks, I'm totally probably pregnant but just one of those people that have periods throughout pregnancy...or so I told my husband this morning, who rolled his eyes... I think I need to pee on a stick tomorrow, just to see the negative. Mid FW...

SoozC · 10/01/2018 20:51

Sore back/kidneys plus faint nausea for about a second means I'm totally preggers, right?! Grin

Armygirl · 10/01/2018 20:33

Sore boobs and had what I thought could possibly be implantation bleed on cd20. Was getting hopeful but I think I just saw some spotting when I went for a wee 😞 today is cd 24
Dp goes on tour for 5 months in a few weeks. Feeling like I’m too old and totally fed up 😟

justmeonly · 10/01/2018 18:19

Hi again everyone!

I’m mostly lurking as I have nothing new to say - still not pregnant or even a whiff of it. Still feeling a bit rubbish about it when I let myself. Trying not to think about it too much.

Take care other just xx

minime2017 · 10/01/2018 14:26

Ronswan im in the same boat only my chemical was last year and nothing has happened since. Cycle is v regular and follows the predictions of Ovia yet nothing. Plus friends having babies all around. It can be so hard. Also got a little bit excited as thought maybe I was a bit late this morning but bam! Af has arrived as expected. Chin up. Hopefully 2018 will bring us some good news

RhiBee29 · 10/01/2018 12:49

Thanks @Milknosugar1, think I'll see if DH is up for dtd later. I did tell him last night was it for fw so might just make out I want to dtd for fun!

ronswansonstache · 10/01/2018 10:24

AF got me this morning. Cycle 22 begins. It was CD27 & I was going to POAS this morning but felt in my bones it would just be a waste of time...

Really feeling down at the moment - my friend is about to have her baby any day now - she got pregnant the same time I had a CP last year. I'm so happy for her, but sad for myself, which makes me feel so selfish.

DoAsDreamersDo · 10/01/2018 09:56

Oh Bubbles that's so sad Sad

Bubblegum89 · 10/01/2018 09:30

Dreamers ugh so annoying. My partner’s friend got married in the summer and everyone was like ooh next it’s babies! lol and behold, they got pregnant on their honeymoon. Although sadly, she did have a mc at 12 weeks

Also, it’s been 16 years of having periods and 15 months of ttc and I have a nice new symptom I’ve never had before: sore boobs. BEFORE ovulation. Going on my last period, I’m now on cd16 (no idea what dpo) Assuming my cycle has gone back to normal (which it hasn’t) I should have ovulated on Monday. I think I must have actually ov’d on Friday maybe. Anyway, Saturday and Sunday, my boobs were in agony. Like, worse than ever. I usually get sore boobs in the week before af starts and they’re uncomfortable but bearable. But this was something else, they were sore like the times I’ve been pregnant. I wouldn’t even let my OH hug me. Then Monday, they were fine again. Obviously I googled it, turns out you can get sore boobs before/during ovulation. Has anyone ever had this randomly happen to them? I’ve never had boobs that sore when not pregnant and never any time before 3-4 days after ovulation. It’s really baffled me!

Another baby bomb this morning. A couple who got married in August last year and my friend said to the guy who got married "ooh babies soon, it doesn't take long you know" and bam they've announced they're expecting already so must have fallen on pretty quickly! Happy for them but bloody hell how come everyone else is so fertile!!

Bubblegum89 · 10/01/2018 09:22

JustWaiting sorry to see you go :( totally get needing a break though. I’m not actively ttc at the minute myself (no opks, no scheduling sex, no fertility apps etc) I’m considering just stopping altogether tbh and focusing on doing stuff this year like holidays and whatnot. I’d say I hope to see you back soon but actually I’d rather you never had to come back! Haha.
