Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

@SoozC.. are you asking if your suspected ewcm is in fact semen??? #confused!

SoozC · 01/02/2018 21:28

Thanks Wonky, I meant (but didn't phrase very well), that I was uncertain if it was ewcm if semen hands around for a couple of days after dtd. I think it's ewcm, but we dtd two evenings ago so not sure if I can count it as ewcm. IYSWIM.

Anyway, dtd!

WonkyDonk87 · 01/02/2018 20:49

@SoozC I think I read that the sperm survive longer in ewcm (up to 5 days) and keel over more readily in sticky/nonexistent cm.

milk I love my mooncup. My periods are so rubbish that I found tampons really uncomfortable because they were so dry (sorry lol) I could always feel them when I was walking about but I totally forget when my mooncup is in. Plus you can keep it in overnight without worrying you’re going to get TSS lol

June I wish that had been true for me 😂

@milk hate to give you false hope, but more than a handful of people I know bought mooncups and then got pregnant before they could use them!

minime2017 · 01/02/2018 19:30

Hope everyone is feeling ok. Even though i know there is no chance this month with little dtd and timing etc i poas and got a bfn...of sorts. Hate IC! There was a tiny indent where the 2nd line should come up and i have spent last half hr (stupidly) deciding if there its a line or not (theres not!!) I should know better.

SoozC · 01/02/2018 19:27

Ewcm today?! How long does semen hang around for? Not more than a day, surely? I am in my fw according to ff but based on recent 36-day cycles not for another week or so. I'm not sure if acupuncture 2 days ago would have brought ov forward by so much so soon!! I'm confused. Going to dtd tonight obvs.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/02/2018 17:54

@Justwaitingforaline. And don't worry about worrying me - I would worry if there was nothing to worry about lol!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/02/2018 17:53

@Justwaitingforaline. How odd. I Just googled "normal estradiol levels nhs" and it came up with exactly what the surgery just told me - and breathe! Lol. Still not totally odd of the woods as I have to have a progesterone and cortisol yet, they couldn't do cortisol yesterday as it has to be done at 09.00am.

Justwaitingforaline · 01/02/2018 17:44

Woah, different measurements for the same thing across seas? How weird! I was going off what my GP told me as she gave me the link to that site! Sorry if I worried you unnecessarily! It’s very annoying that there isn’t a blanket template

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/02/2018 17:36

@Justwaitingforaline. I Just phoned the surgery back in a flap lol and she said that the measurements in the UK are different and anything below 500 u/l for prolactin is normal and between72 – 529 pmol/L for estradiol is normal.

Justwaitingforaline · 01/02/2018 17:10

Assuming these are day 3 tests, looking An FSH level of less that 9 is ideal. Levels of LH should be between 3-10. Estradiol level is a bit high, less than 80 is idea but up to 100 is normal. Testosterone should be between .7- 3.6 aaaaand prolactin is ideally less than 24 so you have quite an elevated level there too. Did they offer you an appointment to discuss? This is a great website to look at levels : www.fertilityplus.com/faq/hormonelevels.html

RhiBee29 · 01/02/2018 17:09

Sorry @LookingAtTheStars89 I have no idea but really hope they are great results. I'm burying my head in sand and not heading to the gp yet.

Welcome @UnicornsandRainbows1, sorry for your losses, its so hard x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/02/2018 16:30

I got my blood work results back today. Could you lovely ladies cast your expert eyes over these results:

FSH 7.3
LH 3.5
ESTRADIOL 143
TESTOSTERONE 1.2
PROLACTIN 151

Hope it's okay to be here. Have been ttc since last Feb with 2 mc in between so still here trying. This cycle is the 1st full cycle since the last mc (it's been a complete shitfest for the last two months) but hopefully it's okay to join still. I'm 0% hopeful right now but we'll try again anyway

RhiBee29 · 01/02/2018 13:46

Congrats @Justwaitingforaline happy honeymoon Wink

LexieJean · 01/02/2018 13:39

Congrats @justwaiting sounds like you’re properly relaxing which is great!

Si1ver · 01/02/2018 13:30

Welcome back @Justwaitingforaline. Congratulations on your wedding.

I've had an interesting morning reading about human pregnancy factors. What it boils down to is that a certain percentage of the population will get pregnancy symptoms before implantation. I might reign back on mocking people who have veiny hands at 3dpo.

Justwaitingforaline · 01/02/2018 12:49

Afternoon, Yammers. I think I have returned.

The irony of a condom breaking twice once you’ve decided to stop trying is all too real. We’re on honeymoon this week and have thrown caution to the wind ( wine/occasional cigarettes) which has been really bloody liberating. I’m happy to see a BFP on here finally!

LovePinaColada · 01/02/2018 12:03

Sorry for AF arrivals. 😢 It's totally crap when she appears - especially when false hope given by it being a few days late.

MynameisJune · 01/02/2018 11:09

I find that some months af absolutely floors me and then other months I’m okay and a bit optimistic. This month has been quite stress free because I’ve got no expectations of anything happening as I’m away over most of FW.

Big hugs @hoping and @dreamers

DoAsDreamersDo · 01/02/2018 09:51

I had a cry this month when AF arrived too. I thought I'd got past that by now, but it hit me quite a bit this month for some reason.
