Lissielou so sorry to hear that - when my husband got MS loads of people tried to say "helpful" things being well-meaning - I found the only thing was when people were honest and said "that's so sh*t, life just stinks sometimes" and so it does

Bella - have my fingers crossed for you (and everyone else on here)

well, its official, if there is a god, he/she's a monty python-esque figure with a truly warped sense of humour! my lil sis's 1/2 sis is 4m pg, she's 17 and doesnt know who the dad is. til recently was living with a violent drug addict and has never had a job!

im so fucking pissed off now, i dont know if i should laugh or cry!

got the usual urban myth about women who try for years, blah blah. and i should stop worrying about it! still, only 10d til af's due!

lissielou · 24/04/2007 20:41

lol, dont worry i do it all the time. have been advised by the nurses not to ttc again for another month or so, but i know better!!!

OP posts:
moominsmummy · 24/04/2007 20:40

do you know I think we have coped better because it's all happened at once - if just one thing had gone wrong we'd have probably had sat and moped about it but we just don't have the time! we have grieved a bit for the loss of the life we thought we would have but now we just deal with things as they happen and try and enjoy every day. we really relish things like trips to the swings with DS -take loads of photos - cos he might never be able to remember his dad walking......
and there are always other people worse off!

christ moomin, thats a lot to contend with!

OP posts:
lissielou · 24/04/2007 20:33

bella, it takes your body a while to settle down post mc.

OP posts:
moominsmummy · 24/04/2007 20:33

ooo well it's a bit complicated - we were going to ttc naturally about now anyway, then DH got diagnosed with aggressive form of MS so had loads of IV steroids and some chemotherapy for it which knocked out alot of the little swimmers.
He's now on a drugs trial and since they have no idea the effect on embryos we are using sperm he banked last year before the drugs trial.
and amid all this FIL has dementia, I had a breast cancer scare, DS has another grommit operation and I'm working four days a week - at least I haven't been too stressed about the IVF - too much else to think about

lissielou · 24/04/2007 20:05

moominsmummy oddly my old (and fab) gp mentioned progesterone injections as a possible treatment,

got aches in left (tubeless side) groin today so really dont think all our duty-bdings goining to have done much good! should have ovd sat/sun and have more blood taken on mon, am fed up of being used as a pincushion and peeing on stupid fecking sticks!

sorry don't know the lingo *(what's a CD??) anyway have just been through first cycle of IVF - got 2 embryos from the 3 eggs recovered so had one put back in last Wednesday. Froze the other embryo as multiple pregnancies terrify me.
am supposed to do test on friday 5th may if no period before then.
good luck and big hugs to everyone else
lissie - I have friend who had repeated mc and then they tried giving her some hormone injection every week until she was 20 weeks pg and it worked really well - I will ask her the name of it next time we speak
