Vivid Dreams

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had 'vivid dreams'? I hear they are a preggo symptom. I've been having lots of scary dreams recently.

In other news, as a pcos sufferer I have been recently taking the correct dose of metformin, 2 tablets a day, previously I thought I was supposed to be taking one and also inofolic.

I am on day 26 of on average a 32 day cycle but I feel like my period is imminent. I wonder if the meds are doing their thing!!!

Confused xxx

Dreams generally are associated with rapid eye movement ‘REM’ sleep - which is the stage between waking and deep sleep. Sort of semi-sleep.

Most people naturally cycle between R.E.M. and deep sleep, but if your dreams are particularly vivid or long, you might not be getting enough deep sleep

Threenme · 07/11/2017 01:50

Mine we're all the time and had my nan in she came back to me. I would talk to her and kiss her and then I'd wake up and was heartbroken. I was devastated my nan never met my kids I think this is why.

peachesarenom · 06/11/2017 23:23

Ttbb that's interesting! I defo have non-vivid dreams at other times.

My hubby just told me that last night I was sleep walking! Very unusal!

Yes but I have had them my whole life. I actually find it really hard to understand how people can have non-vivid dreams. I do get them occasionally but the vast majority of my dreams (the ones I remember at least) are very vivid to the point t that I often wake up convinced that they were real (even when they are impossible). I didn't notice any increase during pregnancy.

peachesarenom · 06/11/2017 22:56

Did you guys notice that when you go to MN there is a pic saying 'vivid dreams' and when you click on it you come straight here to this link! I feel like a celebrity!!!

My dreams are just scary, they don't involve babies.

ScaryMary81 I had a cry today. Sadly I do cry from time to time!

Somethininthewater I'm sorry about the bfn! Can't be sure till AF.

ScaryMary81 that sounds so beautiful!

Mrsyorkie I'm blushing! Sadly, no one at work I'd enjoy 'dream sex' with!

MaisyPops I don't think they have to feature pregnancy or babies. Just be vivid!

TerrifyingFeistyCupcake I suspect that may be the case!

Agree with nimble it’s purely a subconscious thing at such an early stage. They may be a pregnancy symptom but not until you are well into a pregnancy by at least 5 weeks, same as any other symptoms you get in your tww

TerrifyingFeistyCupcake · 06/11/2017 19:29

Vivid dreams are indeed a thing in pregnancy, but they don't typically start until several weeks in. They're not a thing you get before or at the time of your BFP.

Cupcakesandlove · 06/11/2017 19:27

My vivid dreams are not pregnancy related even when I was pregnant. I don’t usually have any dreams that I recall but when I was pregnant with my daughter I had really vivid dreams and have again for a week. I convince myself I’m pregannt every month. I really doubt I am but it’s nice to torture myself a bit - not but never mind x

MaisyPops · 06/11/2017 18:57

Oh i didn't realise we meant vivid pregnancy dreams. Confused

I was gettinf quite excited that my recent vivid and utterly off the wall dreams might be a positive sign.

demirose87 · 06/11/2017 17:59

I wouldn't really say it's a "symptom" as such but has been a side effect for me. During all my pregnancies, particularly my last one, I had the most crazy, vivid dreams. Some were about what my subconscious was worried about and others were just weird, think pirates and ghosts.

Mrsyorkie · 06/11/2017 17:57

I used to have very detailed dream sex with a bloke at work. I couldn't look at him the next day.
I never told me husband. I used to genuinely feel like I'd cheated on him. Pregnant.

ScaryMary81 · 06/11/2017 17:11

My first sign of pregnancy - I'm not someone who cries watching films and tv, I started to cry watching something about cats and I knew something was up, but didn't want to get my hopes up after years of ttc, but yes it was positive!

ScaryMary81 · 06/11/2017 17:08

The most vivid dream was well before my 20 week scan, I was sat in front of a window, on beautiful sunny day, bouncing a baby boy on my knee - I went on to have a boy!

NimbleKnitter · 06/11/2017 16:00

Ha! Positive, not postindustrial! Stupid phone

NimbleKnitter · 06/11/2017 15:59

Dreams pick up on your subconscious.

If you’re ttc or pregnant, you’re going to have a lot on your mind.

The only ‘symptom’ of early pregnancy is a postindustrial pregnancy test.

Sorry to be the party pooper

Poptart4 · 06/11/2017 15:52

I've had vivid pregnancy dreams for the last 2 months and I'm still not pregnant :( I think its because we're ttc so it's obviously on our minds which is why we dream about it iykwim

Oysterbabe · 06/11/2017 09:19

I always get vivid dreams when pregnant but not until about 10 weeks onwards.

Somethininthewater · 06/11/2017 07:45

BFN 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

MaisyPops · 06/11/2017 06:52

No idea.
I'm 8 days from POAS and have had bizarre dreams in the last few days.
I didn't know it's a symptom.
Fingera crossed.

Somethininthewater · 06/11/2017 06:48

Morning. Another night of bizarre dreams! Testing this morning(if I can be bothered to drag myself out of my deliciously warm bed!) I know it will be bfn though

peachesarenom · 05/11/2017 22:46

Cupcakesandlove fingers crossed!

Somethininthewater 21dpo?! Sounds promising! When are you testing next?

TroysMammy when I told my hubby he said exactly the same thing!!! About being on a road trip in a white transit van with kids in the back! We don't have any kids!

Somethininthewater thanks, I thought I was going mad when I half remembered it was a symptom!

Wiggles9408 I'm so excited after reading your post! Hubby always tells me never to get over excited but I think, how often do you get to be over excited? So I'm gonna run with it! Woo hoo! Until I test! Dreams are very scary and have a massive cast of people!

user1485196412 that dream sounds a lot more pleasant than mine. Fingers crossed for tonight!
