Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

9 days in of testing (CD13) and no positive OPK as of yet! Due to work the times I've been testing are a bit all over the place but tends to be either about 2pm or not until about 7pm.

@PickettBowtruckles keep going! I was so disheartened last week and then one was good and that one is all we need!!

@ImpatientMammy AF due around 14/15th according to the apps. It's s bloody long wait isn't it!!

PickettBowtruckles · 07/12/2017 13:32

Nothing yet! Been using OPK's but no positives yet :(

ImpatientMammy · 07/12/2017 13:09

Not due till 17th here I think I'm on another thread with you. When's your AF due? X

NelleB · 07/12/2017 06:17

Any joy ladies? X

NelleB · 04/12/2017 17:52

@kjhh ahh no! I know it's not helpful but one day it WILL be you doing that. I've had years of watching friends and family giving birth and it's heartbreaking when that's all you want. We will get our babies x

kjhh · 02/12/2017 17:08

@NelleB I'm doing so much worse today, I've met my nephew for the first time and I am GUTTED that I'm not pregnant, husband is dead against trying now too which makes it worse 😩

@Kaneandable I think it's such a blessing that you're pregnant... of course do what's best for you, but have a good think about stuff, don't jump into something you may regret xx

Hello I hope I’m ok to join the thread too. Im 27 and my partners 35. I’m at the end of my second month TTC but come off the pill end of Sep (after being on it for 12 years!). I had a period about a month after the withdrawal bleed but I’m now on day 36 of cycle 2 and no period! I think they will take a while to settle down but I’m just hoping it arrives ASAP so we can get on to the next cycle!

Kaneandable - big decision! If you want to do it I don’t think your age is such a worry as more people are having babies later on in life and people are living much longer than they used to.

ImpatientMammy · 01/12/2017 15:16

Ahhh no @Merrz mine seemed to get closer to positive each day so maybe if your noticing them getting darker but not quite positive that could be a guide.
@Kaneandable just remember what ever you decide it will be the right thing for you and your family. This thread is mainly people trying to conceive I don't know what area you might get better advice from people who might have been or currently be in your situation. Anyone know? Sorry I'm new here really x

Merrz · 01/12/2017 14:49

Yay ImpatientMammy So satisfying, get bding Grin I haven't had a positive opk for a few months now, i've forgotten how good it feels.

Kaneandable Must be very difficult. Afraid i can't offer any advice Sad

Kaneandable · 01/12/2017 12:30

Thank you -I am just so confused at the moment and I know that I have to make a decision one way or another very quickly-I am being totally honest when I say I have never been so mixed up in my life !!! I also know that I have got to live with whichever path I choose 😓 still haven’t a clue which way to go at the moment!! X

ImpatientMammy · 01/12/2017 11:36

Guys so sorry to change the subject but I've never been more happy to know I'm ovulating 😆

@Kaneandable obviously you have to do what is best for you, that said, my mum had my two older sisters when she was 16 then had a massive gap and had me at 42! I'm now 28 and I adore my parents, they're my best friends, they're separated and now aged 70 and 71, and are looking forward to having their 6th grandchild from me (when it finally happens 😰). But don't let age be the deciding factor, my parents have been fabulous, we have done so many amazing things together as a family, and they are still having plenty of adventures now I'm grown up! Xx

Merrz · 01/12/2017 11:13

Kaneandable Wow that must of been a shock for you after thinking you couldn't have. Only you and your husband can make the decision, what's right for you. But i wouldn't let the age thing worry you too much, it's so common for woman to be waiting until well into their 30's and 40's to start a family now. I totally see where ImpatientMammy is coming from, i think if you had an abortion because it's what you're husband wants you might land up resenting him for that.

ImpatientMammy · 01/12/2017 10:52

@Kaneandable neither is wrong but do what you want I know it sounds harsh but I had a surprise baby if I'd aborted because my husband had suggested I'm not sure I could of forgiven him. 2 years later we're trying for another and he's thanked me for being the brave one. However if I had of also wanted that it would have been right for me. Make a dr app tell them how you feel. I hope your ok x

Kaneandable · 01/12/2017 07:49

So confused!! Just found out I’m pregnant at 44 for the first time. Hubby is now 50 with 3 grown up kids & a grandchild from 1st wife, I never thought it would happen as have only ever taken the pill on and off, have had 2 marriages and never been caught so always presumed i couldn’t have kids !! I’ve always got on and loved his 3 and we all have a good relationship. I think deep down I have always wanted one of my own but hubby thinks we are now too old so what do I do ??? Carry on with our carefree lifestyle now the kids are grown up which is great, or have a baby that will grow up with elderly parents ??? Which is right and which is wrong ???? 😰

ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 21:57

@NelleB I learnt about it on my app. It's so complicated isn't it x

NelleB · 30/11/2017 21:42

@ImpatientMammy I could kiss you for explaining this. My apps say ovulation is today... there's no explanation on my cheap one and google gives so many different answers. X

ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 21:30

@NelleB ok so you positive LH surge on Wednesday shows you could ovulate anytime within 36 hours from that. Does that make sense or correlate any better with your app? X

NelleB · 30/11/2017 20:50

@kjhh how are you? I hope things are better! My OPKs don't match up with my apps... having a stressful time really with it. I am assuming my Wednesday one shows ovulation. I've done more but they're similar to today and Tuesday... x

ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 19:16

Awww bless you well I hope it happens quick for you when your life's ready to let you try again and I hope your surgery runs smoothly. I always say that once that BFP actually happens we'll know the reason it was meant to be at that time x

kjhh · 30/11/2017 18:28

@ImpatientMammy I've read people that have done at least three tests a day, and only one is positive 😂 darker sounds like a good sign, fingers crossed for you!!

And I've had a health problem come up that I may need surgery for urgently, add that with the stress of not having a job atm and trying to make sure we don't lose out on the house.... I don't think my body would let me get pregnant 😂😂 x

OP posts:
ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 18:25

@kjhh mine are negative but seem to be getting darker. I have no idea weather I missed ovulation or not so clinging to this as a good sign that it's coming soon rather than missed it. Congrats on the new baby just remember you'll be next ☺️ what made you put a pause on trying? X

kjhh · 30/11/2017 14:30

Hi ladies!! Sorry I've been MIA recently I've been super super busy.... we're not trying at the minute- and my sister in law has given birth today 😩 I feel like crap 😩

@PickettBowtruckles doctors are so ridiculous! Age doesn't make a difference, it's so irritating isn't it!

How is everyone getting on with OPKs? I bought some cheap paper ones from Poundland and gave up trying with them because they were negative too 😂😂 x
