TTC First Month

Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

LostMyBaubles · 08/11/2017 06:26

Amewjourney don't worry, it's part of parcel and all normal
Ttc out 4th and I feel the same way

kjhh · 07/11/2017 23:37

@PickettBowtruckles I’ve done a test every day for the last ten days lol they’re all negative too! I’m so impatient!

@anewjourney yes!! But I feel like that’s a given though, I’d love to be pregnant even if it meant I was super nervous 😂😂😂😂😂

Does anyone else feel nervous as well as excited or is that just me? Blush I keep worrying that because I’m also scared about becoming a mum it means I’m not ready?

I’m SO excited but I’m also worried I won’t cope, it won’t be how I thought it would be etc.

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 21:43

Pickett I took an opk into The bathroom

Took a 'rain' check and was still passing a bit of blood lol
No point in using test today!

PickettBowtruckles · 07/11/2017 20:48

Anyone else want to POAS every day? Forcing myself to wait until Saturday, I have no symptoms and don't even think I am but every time I pee I think about taking a test 🙈

kjhh · 07/11/2017 19:37

@anewjourney I might steal that from you 😂😂 sick of these invasive questions!

OP posts:
anewjourney · 07/11/2017 15:59

I think if anyone asks me I’m going to say something like “Wow! Do you always ask such personal questions?” and leave it at that. 😂

kjhh · 07/11/2017 15:46

@NelleB I definitely won’t be saying sorry either! Yeah I completely agree xx

@LostMyBaubles omg that’s crazy 😂 I’d love to have that with my kids, summer babies too which is nice!

@anewjourney yeah same 😩 my sister in law (husband’s sister) fell pregnant this year - it was obviously planned but she told her parents it was an accident - but my in laws were SO angry! They’re over it now, but me and DH keep like dropping little jokes here and there about us having the next grandchild, and they are super against it. Keep reminding us about how our lives are over when we have kids so make the most out of it.... but like I get really irritated because people seem to say to do everything you’ve ever wanted to do; but I don’t have an endless bucket of money to go travelling and blow money on stuff I can’t afford until I have Kids. And also I don’t want that either, I’m ready to have them! I hate that people have an opinion on it because kids are such a blessing! And it’s not like they’re going to financially affect anyone else either xx

@anewjourney I have been thinking about this and when it happens how to tell my boss. I won’t be saying ‘sorry, I’m pregnant, it was a slip up!’ I will not be sorry about one of the best things that can happen for a couple, something I’ve waited so long for and stressed over/planned. Everyone should be allowed their special moment, planned/unplanned x

anewjourney · 07/11/2017 15:09

KJ I’ve thought about telling people it was an accident too, but then I think “Why should we?”. It’s our lives, we’re free to do as we choose and we’re not hurting anyone. I hate the stigma of being young/not having been with a partner for years if you want a baby Envy

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 14:53

Thank you kj 💕
My other3 are July, Aug and Sept babies lol so hopefully our last one will follow the pattern and fit right in the middle somewhere lol

Ovia tells me 6 days until fertile window

kjhh · 07/11/2017 14:34

@NelleB @PickettBowtruckles hopefully!! I’ll keep you updated 😊😊

@webster144 thankyou for your post! I completely understand how you feel! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage though, but pray you’ll get your BFP soon! We’re going to tell people it was an accident, I do not need people to be judging us at all - we both graduated and got jobs, and have just been accepted for a mortgage so I’d say we’re not like other people our age who are drinking every weekend/all their money away! It’s definitely the right time for us both... ps I’d start planning your wedding if it’s for next year, it’s so stressful 😭😭

@anewjourney hi! It’s so nice to see so many girls in the same boat - I wouldn’t even worry about if people ask about whether it was planned or not, it’s not anyone else’s business but yours and your partner!

@LostMyBaubles baby dust to you!! Hopefully this is your month xxx

That's good pickett

I was 17 when I fell pregnant with my first had him at 18 😀

PickettBowtruckles · 07/11/2017 12:36

I'm the youngest person in my team at work, but since I got married I've had quite a lot of people ask when I'm having a baby so I actually think work will be okay to tell! I'd just love to have something to tell them 😂

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 12:29

Thank you 😁
AF has gone fx this is our month

anewjourney · 07/11/2017 11:30

Can I join this thread please? 👋🏼

Web that’s such a nice post and so true.

I’m a bit anxious about how people from work are going to react and I’m already wondering how I’m going to answer the “Oh was it planned?!” comments. Blush

webster144 · 07/11/2017 11:26

Hi OP, I feel your pain! We are both early/mid twenties, and we feel the exact same waySad

We’ve been together 4 years, engaged to be married since the beginning of this year (haven’t set a date or even started planning) and in the last few months have started TTC because we just felt it was right for us. I fell pregnant a few months ago in September after our first month of trying, and unfortunately had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in the middle of October which was incredibly heartbreaking for both of us as I lead quite an active healthy lifestyle and felt devastated that I lost the baby.
We’ve been TTC since the bleeding stopped, but finding it incredibly hard as neither of us have anyone to speak to really apart from each other about our emotions and I totally understand how you feel. We are both quite terrified of judgment from people, my mum was incredibly supportive through the miscarriage as I felt I wouldn’t have handled it the way I had if I hadn’t told my mum and had her love and support through it along with my partners...but we are both scared of friends and family being incredibly judgemental if I fall pregnant again due to our age. We both have good jobs, with a good income and own our home. Neither of us are party animals and I would say we are very level headed mature adults. But still, I know there will be the odd friends and family members who will be quite shocked and will make comments such as “oh but you’re so young!” and “what about your job??” I would rather have kids sooner than later and put my career on hold as I have the rest of my life to give my time to my career. I have friends who had babies shortly after leaving high school...whilst we both studied our way through college and landed good jobs, we are both out of our “teen” years, so I don’t see how it couldn’t be a better time. I have found the person I love and want to spend my life with as I’m sure you have to, and what’s wrong with having a baby with them?! I can’t think of anything nicer!

The fact is, do what makes you happy, it’s your life! You don’t have to explain to anyone why you want a baby, or why you’ve fallen pregnant or why you’re trying to conceive. Don’t care about other people’s opinions, because I guarantee once that baby arrives everyone will fall in love and no one would dare make a negative comment! Age does not matter, it’s how YOU feel and when you feel ready! I have a lot of respect for the younger couples out there who have babies and can maintain jobs and a life, and I wish you all the best TTC** and hope you get what you wish for soon!!! Flowers

Lots of love xx

PickettBowtruckles · 07/11/2017 11:03

@kjhh I ended up getting the Superdrug conception vitamins, £2.99 for 30 and they're on buy one get one half price so pretty cheap!

Just read your latest post as well, fingers crossed for you!!! Def keep us posted!

@NelleB I'm on CD33 now as well, still no AF symptoms! So irritated. Waiting until Saturday to take another test though. Just want SOMETHING to happen! I'll keep hoping for either AF of BFP for us both so at least we can be happy or get ready to try again 🙈

NelleB · 07/11/2017 10:46

@kjhh OMG it could have been! Keep us posted!!!

kjhh · 07/11/2017 10:43

@NelleB oh brilliant! I’ll pop round to Asda later and I’ll check out amazon too, thankyou! I’m literally going crazy now... so when I wiped there was sort of pinky watery CM.. assumed that meant my period was coming. After sitting here racking my brains I’m like could that have been implantation bleeding? Now I’m super on edge! Xx

NelleB · 07/11/2017 10:23

kjhh · 07/11/2017 10:19
