Pregnant after dtd once!

Cupcakesandlove · 31/10/2017 21:05

Is it possible? I’m not pregnant.
I had my high peak yesterday dtd but hubby is away now so it’s unlikely we will get pregnant this month.
As I’ve stayed on other threads I’ve had some conflicting advice from the fertility friend app, we seem to be disagreeing on when I OV. OPK confirmed peak yesterday though.

Is it possible Hmm

I fell pregnant 4 times while DH was working away and only back at weekends (so DTD once/max twice in fertile times). They didn't all work out, but that's another story. It's definitely possible. Good luck OP Flowers

Twinkletowedelephant · 04/11/2017 11:01

Yep ....took 18 months to fall pregnant. With dd.... 1 day for the DTS :)

Dh was in a bit of a shock

JollyCat · 04/11/2017 10:59

My 22 year old DD is prooof of this. We were using condoms at the time but we were both drunk and had been out and I wrongly thought that my period had just finished, ( it was in fact around 10 days earlier) anyway, I said it should be ok without a condom. Six weeks later, I started throwing upGrin Third and last child

Nikki2ol6 · 04/11/2017 10:54

My little boy is 7. We dtd once. I remember it so well on that snowy Monday afternoon. I ovulated two days later on the Wednesday. At 11dpo I got my bfp.

HerOtherHalf · 04/11/2017 08:13

Oh, I'm really sorry that you have such a crap sex life. It's nice that you aren't ashamed to admit it, though

What an utterly shitty thing to say. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Bows85 · 04/11/2017 08:09

I'm with you @MrsDx
Why do people feel the need to be so rude? Ignore the dickheads @Cupcakesandlove Good luck with your trying Flowers

MrsDx · 04/11/2017 06:20

People on here are mean..female solidarity anyone😢

LynseyLou1982 · 02/11/2017 15:06

Yes we managed it at the first attempt. I'm now 23 weeks pregnant

Mrstobe90 · 02/11/2017 15:04

No need for all the snotty comments. Ttc is hard enough without other people making you feel worse. Grow up and play nice!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 02/11/2017 10:50

Poor DH, he was hoping for a long campaign...

Not only did i get pregnant DTD once. It was also my first time. I was 15 and my best friend told me it was IMPOSSIBLE to get pregnant your first time according to her this was a fact that everyone knew. Sadly I believed her. Dd proved her wrong with her arrival 9mths later. 25years later I still remind her of this when she shares her misplaced wisdom with me 😁😁

Cupcakesandlove · 01/11/2017 23:08

And I’ve done the same for nearly a year. I’m currently undergoing tests at my gp for it as well. I am very understanding of those who are in similar situations and those who equally have got lucky the first time.
However this month my husband is away helping with a sick relative.

Yes but most of us on here are at it like rabbits as soon as opk tests show a squinter and don't even get a hint of bfp for months on end

Cupcakesandlove · 01/11/2017 22:50

I never asked if it was my month. I asked if it was possible as I had only dtd once during my fertile period. People who grasped the concept of the thread responded with their experiences.
Like I said I’m not pregnant and I am unlikely to be, that wasn’t what I asked. But thank you for your input northernlurker, not everything needs to be taken so literal.
There bloody lucky and I’m hugely envious / but all the best to them and their beautiful families. Good luck if you are trying!

NorthernLurker · 01/11/2017 21:27

Oh ffs op you really are being bit daft about this. You asked could you get pregnant from a single shag to which the answer is and always will be yes. Nobody can tell you if this is your month, no amount of experience telling will help with that. It either is or it isn't.

powderbluerose · 01/11/2017 17:33

Yep, definitely possible!! Every other bloody cycle we’d dtd about 10-15 times and the time we could only do it once was when we conceived.... the one month I also didn’t test from about 8dpo. I tested just before AF because I was going out and BOOM, the strongest BFP. No symptoms either. Good luck!!! Grin

Cupcakesandlove · 01/11/2017 12:29

Northernlurker, and that’s the reason I love mumsnet for people like you. I asked a question, get over yourself.
take your negativity elsewhere.
I’ve been trying near on a year to get pregnant, may not seem like very long to some but I’m bloody fed up and I just wanted to hear other experiences.
Have a lovely day! Hmm

Mouselove Sorry you are struggling to conceive, but the people who have responded have generally not said how long they were trying for, just that the month they were lucky they only did it once, for a variety of reasons.

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 01/11/2017 10:26

Every pregnancy (other than AI) is the result of a single shag.

NorthernLurker · 01/11/2017 10:23

There's nothing 'lighthearted' about your op. If you ask a silly question you will get the answers you deserve.

Thisismydilemma · 31/10/2017 22:42

Yes, I'm 4 weeks due to dtd once

Urglewurgle · 31/10/2017 22:41

Yeah. 7 week old DD is the result of just one unprotected time!

MouseLove · 31/10/2017 22:40

I’m sure all of us who have been trying years love the thought of a lighthearted thread that literally has no point. Please think about it before you post. Most of the ladies on these boards are struggling to get pregnant or would give ANYTHING for a one bonk wonder. 😑

Emus · 31/10/2017 22:38

Happened to me OP! We dtd once then two days later my OPK was positive. Assumed we were out that month but apparently we weren’t! Now have 2.4 year old ds 😬

Cupcakesandlove · 31/10/2017 22:12

As my husband is away we’ve only
Had the opportunity to do it once this month the day I got my peak on my opk. I was just wondering had anyone else only
Had sex on their peak and got pregnant. Thanks x
