35 and it took 20 months
38 and it took 2 months

SpongeCake23 · 29/10/2017 16:44

I'm 28, still trying for #1, 5 months into TTC.

mintich · 29/10/2017 16:44

36 and 6 months

mintich · 29/10/2017 16:44

36 and 6 months

Theworldisfullofidiots · 29/10/2017 16:35

1st time 31 (nearly 32) within one month.
2nd time 36 - within one month.

juneybean · 29/10/2017 16:33

32 and still trying - up to 13 cycles which includes two cycles of DIUI.

Lozmatoz · 29/10/2017 16:29

29, first time (miscarried), next month aged 30, first time, 2nd dc, first time. Accident, 3rd time. Extremely fortunate.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 29/10/2017 16:25

I'm so sorry, physicskate - that's shit news, and I completely understand why you're devastated. I completely agree with you that I hate the lucky/unlucky language - it's what the doctor told me when all my recurrent miscarriage tests came back fine ('basically you've just been a bit unlucky') and that felt like a knife to the heart - it feels like such trivialising language about such a serious thing. I felt 'unlucky' the other day when I got a parking ticket three minutes after my time expired. I didn't feel 'unlucky' when I had a third miscarriage; I felt like my world was falling apart.

DramaAlpaca · 29/10/2017 16:23

DC1 I was 28 took 11 months
DC2 I was 30 took 1 month
DC3 I was 32 took 4 months

I appreciate how fortunate I was.

NelleB · 29/10/2017 16:21

You fill me with hope x

physicskate · 29/10/2017 16:15

Agreed Lisa. I am glad that most people seem to appreciate that they have been 'lucky' - but that does imply that there are those of us that are 'unlucky' where it doesn't happen quickly. Perhaps some sort of 'karmic' association?? I don't know what to call it besides luck, but it makes me feel very upset that I am not one of the 'lucky'...

This whole thread makes me feel like shit... first cycle of clomid has not resulted in pregnancy. I've discovered that today. I'm in pity party mode.

Tilapia · 29/10/2017 16:10

LisaSimpson I think an interesting question is - is it just that people are more likely to post on the thread if they fall into one of two camps (v quick or had trouble conceiving), with fewer ‘middling’ experiences, or is that an accurate reflection of reality? Because I would say that the pattern you’ve observed on this thread is also true of my RL friends.

Strokethefurrywall · 29/10/2017 15:57

I was 31, DS1 was an unknown one hit wonder.
DS2 was 2nd month.

TurquoiseDress · 29/10/2017 15:50

34 yrs old- first cycle, had sex once that month- we were v v lucky. Had withdrawal bleed after finishing pill pack and period never arrived.

Also, so v lucky that pregnancy was uncomplicated, healthy DC born at 39 weeks.

dysongirl · 29/10/2017 14:56

1st 26 happened straight away
2nd 28 straight away too

mamasiz · 29/10/2017 14:42

32, one time! Due in March 2018 Smile

mimiholls · 29/10/2017 14:40

30- 6 months

Warhammerwidow89 · 29/10/2017 14:34

First baby, I was 20 and it took one cycle.

Second, 24, and it took 3 cycles and ended in early miscarriage.

Third, 26, I was trying for 8 months, and it didn't happen.

About to start TTC again.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 29/10/2017 13:59

Threads like this are so interesting, but I also really think they're why so many people panic about their fertility way too early on in TTC. Almost no one comes on with an 'average' story, it's either within a couple of months or takes multiple years. And I'm just as guilty of this - I came on with my slightly grim tale of woe. But I think it's why people get to month 3 or 4 and start wailing about how it'll never happen for them - people just don't tell the 'middling' stories, I guess because they're not that interesting.

KnackeredMumofTwins · 29/10/2017 13:18

31, 1 month, had a missed miscarriage
31, 3 months, twins born when I was 32
35, 3 months, baby was born when I was 36

Good luck!! Xx

elQuintoConyo · 29/10/2017 13:08

36 years old, 1st cycle.

Unbelievably lucky and i have close friends who have had several miscarriages, ivf, infertility due to chemo.

Flowers for everyone

alletik · 29/10/2017 13:00

I was pregnant at 27 and 30. Both times I got pregnant first month TTC.

Foggymist · 29/10/2017 12:58

Dc1 - 29, first cycle
Dc2 (currently 37 weeks), 31. Chemical pregnancy first cycle, pregnant again next cycle.

Bit crazy that the only three times in my life I've had unprotected sex during fertile window that I've conceived. Had a tough pregnancy with dc1 and always say I'm good at the conceiving bit but not the pregnancy bit! This time has been better/easier though, so far.
