Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

phew - had just re-read my post and worried that it just sounded wrong..

1/20 is still 1/20 though - so fingers crossed for you - it only takes one strong swimmer in the right place at the right time

nomoremagnolia · 12/06/2007 11:39

well we're still trying naturally (there's no harm in that!!) but our chances are lower than 1 in 20 when normal couples have a 1 in 4 when bd-ing on the right day. So we're as likely to get bfp in 20 cycles as a normal couple are in 4
and you're not patronising at all, I asked all those q's when we first found out!

nomore, thats very hasrsh on you poor love. It must be so frustrating. I cant really give any advice because i dont know much about any of this really.

am giving you a virtual hug though. and a cup of tea and a big chocolate cake.

toomuchtimeonline · 12/06/2007 11:35

Nomore - I thought your DH would be trying everything anyway - I hope my post didn't come across as patronising I just meant that hopefully something will work soon and you'll get your BFP! Do they think there's a chance you could still conceive naturally? You hear about people getting their referal to the clinic and then finding out they are pregnant (fingers crossed for you!).

p.s. thanks for the profiles tip - I will sort when I get a min

nomoremagnolia · 12/06/2007 11:31

profiles - go to my mumsnet (blue bar at v. top of page) and follow simple steps to set up your profile - have a look at mine for an example if you like - just click on the yellow tag to the right of this post.
dh sperm - he doesn't smoke, doesn't drink very much, is very fit and eats healthy food. GP said he's doing everything they normally suggest. we don't know what assisted conception options are available until we get referred to a clinic but reading up on it I sohlud think it would be ICIS - which is the IVF where they select a good sperm and inject it into the egg (normal ivf they just put sperm and egg together in test tube and let 'nature' take its course) Will know more once my blood tests are complete and we get to speak to a specialist.

Wow - just found your profile page Nomore! Love your cats!! I'll have to get mine sorted..

fifilou · 12/06/2007 11:25

and tight pants!

and stress.............. stress really affects sperm, I read that somewhere. Why is it all so complicated?

I hope you c soon. xx

toomuchtimeonline · 12/06/2007 11:24

sorry took ages to type my last message and missed those posts..

Nomore - definitely think a double act is on the cards

"Profile page" - what's that? I'll have to investigate!

Fi - you'd better start BDing now - sperm can live for up to 5 days - don't want to miss your window

toomuchtimeonline · 12/06/2007 11:23

Nomore - sorry to hear you've been trying so long when did you find out your DH had low sperm? What kind of assisted conception do you think they will offer you?

Did you watch that program on TV the other day (embarrassing illnesses) where all the men gave up booze and fags and ate lots of fruit, veg and fish and they increased their sperm count and viability massively? There's always hope that one of the things you're trying will work since a change in diet had a massive effect over just a few weeks..

fifilou · 12/06/2007 11:23

i think me and treenie are very excited.

ooops.

nomoremagnolia · 12/06/2007 11:22

could be ov cramps?

toomuch and nomore are quite good names for a double act - what do you think?

OP posts:
fifilou · 12/06/2007 11:21

so then, if everything went according to plan, and my AF was being a very good girl, i would be fertile like................... 14th june.....................which is???????????

ive been having period pain like cramps though.
feel like im coming on every now and again.

nomoremagnolia · 12/06/2007 11:21

toomuch, treenie and fi - why don't you set up your profile pages - then we can get to know you properly!

No more - lol

toomuchtimeonline · 12/06/2007 11:18

Fi - CD is cycle day. You count CD1 as the first proper day of your period and then if you have a regular 28 day cycle you ovulate around CD14ish.. I think!

nomoremagnolia · 12/06/2007 11:18

and again...

toomuch - great minds think alike!
a definitive list?

Fi - 32yrs married 18months, came off the pill 1st june, new to all of this but not to children (have been a nursery nurse for 14 years, working as a nursery nurse in a hospital, a nursery supervisor, and as a nanny))

nomore - age 29, married 5 years, ttc 18 months currently undergoing inital fertility tests before being referred (dh has v. low % of properly formed o~ so will need assisted conception of some sort, waiting on my results before we can proceed)

Toomuch - Age 27 - started TTC June 07 - just coming of the pill now so waiting to see what will happen.

Treenie - age 27. Married nearly 2 years. Came off the pill last week so now on cd 7 (if counting from first day of af, which I think is what I'm meant to do) Waiting till after next af to start trying.
