Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

Treenie · 18/06/2007 12:53

Hi Pink Martini
sorry to hear about Af - poor you.
Let's talk property and cheer you up. Move asap would be my thoughts! Have read the other thread quickly so sorry if I'm raising points that have already been made.
We live in SW zone 3 and I love it. We sold our flat over a year ago and bought a house so that we'd have more than enough room and have it all done up when the baby comes - no one is more of chicken counter than me I tell you but I can't function if not organised.
Currently using what will be the nursery as a dressing room. But as soon as I am preggers we'll change that.
Zone 3 can be lovely - you won't be lonely. Certainly not when you have a baby - there are mums with buggies everywhere here. Just find yourself an antenatal class/mum and baby swimming class et and you'll make loads of pals.
And it's not as if you are moving to the middle of nowhere is it? Your pals will still be able to come and visit, just a few stops more on the tube.
My advice would be do it now. I've seen mates move when they are preggers or with babies and it looks like a complete nightmare. If you do it now you will hopefully be all set by the time the baby comes (and it will one day I'm sure). Also gives you a nice fun project to think about and takes your mind of TTC a little bit.
Anyway, hope that helps. I am love property stuff so happy to chat about it any time.

hi again, Ready nice to see you back! hoping you are well and ok?

PinkMartini · 18/06/2007 09:05

I'm guessing you're all MNing at work - it's been very quiet this weekend!

I am quite as AF seems to be here. I was inexplicably sick on Sat night so was getting q excited but pretty certain it's not implantation or anything. Was going to go out and buy a test today as well. Oh well.

PinkMartini · 15/06/2007 22:00

Welcome back Ready
How is everyone tonight? Off out having fun I hope. As for me, today I've been brooding about whether to move house on this thread
What do you think?

nomoremagnolia · 15/06/2007 16:52

READY so good to 'see' you - you have been missed! Am genuinely ing at my laptop!
How was your time away? Where did you go and what did you do? Any gossip?

Nomore I love the BBC website - much better than the one I found. Thanks! x

Treenie · 15/06/2007 08:39

Hi Ready (waves back!)
Nice to meet you! This is going to sound stalkerish and weird but I've been following all your progress for months on here before posting! I know Toomuch has confessed to the same so at least I'm not alone! Really helps to know we all have the same (ish) fears and worries.

My SIL had her second baby yesterday and I spoke to my MIL last night about it. All is well and all the talk of little pink toes and cute ears made me want one even more!
And isn't it nice when DH gets so broody?!
Really touching.
Anyway, off to sort out flowers for my SIL and buy some cute clothes to send them (they live very far away) and do all the general cool auntie stuff.
Hope you all have a lovely day and as I said in an earlier post I'd love to hear people's thoughts on births - if it's not way to early to talk about that stuff?! Please just say if it is and I'll shut up. Am just an obbsessive forward planner.
x

Phew everyone still posting like mad, its brilliant! I have been off work today, been sick and bloated but def NOT in a pg way, I have caught your bug Treenie!!!! Feel a bit better tonight but sleep patterns all wrong as being asleep half the day after throwing up all last night, nice.
Hi Ready and waves. We have all missed you!!! I am good thanks for asking I'm sure you have seen earlier post about tests so won't go into detail but feeling good about actually doing something rather than just stressing about what might be wrong.
As for the MIL question, well my MIL sadly died last August and FIL is a pub landlord in Salford (used to be a real hardcase apparently) so not much in common with him but a lovely man all the same. He is probably retiring to Spain soon so there will be no grandparents around for our kids. However DH has 2 sisters and I have a brother and sister, we are all really close so lots of brilliant aunties and uncles to make up for it!!

kensgirl · 14/06/2007 21:45

Hello, Readym honey! Lovely, lovely to have you back! I just knew tonight was the night to see if you have been watching over us!

How are you? Do you have lots of loverly news for us?

I'll fill you in on my rubbish attempts at temping when you have had time to catch your breath, but it is very good to have an old friend back!

BellaBear · 14/06/2007 21:39

Yes, it's posts like that I've been missing!

Sorry if I miss anyone!

Bellabear - Congratulations chick!!!! WOO! That is wonderful news, I am thrilled for you. YAY! So exciting!! And to think that just before I went away you were the lowest you have been. Chuffed to bits for you sweets!

Cityangel - How are you flower? Posted to you on chartspotters, but didn?t want to miss you out on here!

Geek - Are you lurking on here? How are things chick?

PinkMartini - Giggled at your ?twirl? and keeping your name. I am pleased you did. I would have not had a clue who you were otherwise I genuinely wasn?t lurking, and have spent all evening catching up. I?m a slow reader!
Sorry to hear that you are worried about being ?left behind? ? I know exactly what you mean! Perfectly natural to feel that way. Hang in there

Gilly - Sorry to hear what your Dad said ? But I am a firm believer that you have to do what is right for you, and not worry about what others think. I know it is hard to hear things like that though. Big hug. Mucho impressive where you will be working ? go get ?em tiger!

Kensgirl - No idea where we will be moving to just yet, it depends on where DH will be working, and that is all up in the air. How are you getting on with the temping?

Nomoremagnolia - I loved your post about there not being a hierarchy of pain on MN ? isn?t that what makes this place great! And I pmsl at your ?Johnny-come-lately? comment too - I have missed this thread! ? I did at you missing me. Very lovely of you to say that.

Woodmouse - PMSL at you seeing yourself as Lynette Scarvo! You?ll be a wonderful mother!! And mothers can still have an identity!

Graysongirl - How are you?

mistlethrush, Treenie, fifilou, toomuchtimeonline,

Scorpio - I love that you lurk/post on here too!! Our little guardian angel!!

PinkElephant - How are you chick? Lovely news about the heartbeat ? just lovely!

Pinky -I know what you mean, all of a sudden everyone you see is pg or has a lo. Best of luck for this cycle, are you in your 2ww?

OP posts:
PinkMartini · 14/06/2007 18:26

I am worried I"m starting to get a bit obsessed. I've just found out two more of my friends are expecting their second and I do feel a little bit like I'm going to get left behind.
Does that make sense? I'm really hopeful that it may be this month (AF due Sun17 /mon 18) but know that these things take time and I have to be patient.....
Sorry, I'm conscious this may be insensitive to those of you who've been trying ages as I know I've only been trying for three/four cycles but...but....but.

nomoremagnolia · 14/06/2007 18:22

this one's even better, no advertising!!

Treenie - know what you mean about researching for Britain, I have a full shopping list for baby stuff, all researched and have read up on everything (well I have had plenty of time to plan it, haven't I?)

You've all been busy again today!

OP posts:
Treenie · 14/06/2007 17:47

OK I know we said we wouldn't count chickens but I thought you might like to check out this website! Type in dates and it tells you what to expect and when! How fun! Can't wait for next af to come so I can get on with it!

My SIL just had her second baby - a little girl! So happy to be an auntie again! I want one too!

Treenie · 14/06/2007 16:51

NCT is national childbirth trust. They run antenatal classes and everyone I've spoken to who has been to them has made amazing friends. All based around local area but there are loads in London. Google them and you can look up your area. Are you N, S, E or W?
Also there should be a midwife centre near you. My advice - and anyone can feel free to contradict me here if they think I am wrong - is that you don't need to be in hosp in a totally medicalised situation if you are having a normal healthy pregnancy and baby. I wouldn't advise going it alone a home or anything but you could get an independent midwife who will bring gas and air etc.
I know what you mean about home birth - don't fancy it either. So an going to go to The Birth Centre in Tooting, SW run by amazing woman called Caroline Flint. She is meant to be a wonderful midwife, has written loads of books and was chair or the royal college of midwives or something like that. Google it. If you like the idea of a midwife unit it will be right up your street. Not cheap mind you but I think it's worth it. But that's just my opinion, I know some people don't want to or can't pay for these kind of services.
Anwyway, check it out for more info anyway. In my opionion that is how birth should be and can be if women are given the right support and surroundings.
