Hi guys, been reading loads of threads over the past few days. I am now 2dpo on my first cycle of ttc #1. I've created this thread to see if anyone had any success In conceiving in the first month or so. Really trying not to be crazy or obsessive but this is all new to me! I came off the pill last month so I know there's an unlikely chance of getting pregnant due to hormones. But if anyone has any comments, feel free to share!
Flowers Good luck to everyone xx

I conceived immediately with DC2.

4yoniD · 15/10/2017 20:54

Dc1 1.25 years
Dc2 2 consecutive nights. Rather a shock.

AnxietyStrikes · 15/10/2017 20:51

We conceived the first month after only Having sex one time.

I had been tracking my cycle and was convinced that we weren't pregnant because we'd only had sex once due to work and things getting in the way.

But lo and behold we know have a 3.5 no
Dd

I've had 4 pregnancies but only one child but each time I fell pregnant first time and that was just coming off the pill so it can and does happen.

I'm not having as much luck second time around ttc #2 unfortunately:(

Third cycle for DC1, first cycle for DC2 and DC3. Good luck OP!

3 pregnancies (2 babies) all one night wonders....DH thinks he's the mutts nuts! Clearly he was the only one involved 🙄

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 15/10/2017 20:43

Ds was first cycle aged 36 (almost 37).
Currently pregnant again at 40, 5 cycles of sort of trying, 1st cycle of tracking ovulation and based on that cycle, we quite possibly screwed up the previous 5.

I come from a fairly fertile family (mostly Catholic so we know most of the previous generations were still having babies well into their late 40s) and we seem to have got really lucky, just really hoping that this one stays put.

Yep, my son was conceived in our first mobth of trying. A few months beforehand, I was fretting thinking I'd have trouble getting pregnant and would need IVF!

Gem173 · 15/10/2017 20:37

@BandhaAid
I am sure I too will prob take a few months for my cycles to get back to normal. I had only been on the pill for 2 years, so am not sure it that will make a difference in how fast my cycles go back to normal. Such a waiting game lol

A year the first time and a month the second time.

Try not to think about it. I know that is hard to do ... Best of luck

MoJoBack · 15/10/2017 20:35

Ttc with DS#1 was 24 months. My partner at the time smoked weed and I’m sure it’s why it took so long. His sperm was as slow as him!!! Ttc #2 6 years later, different partner now DH cycle 1 Grin

BandhaAid · 15/10/2017 19:37

@Gem173, I have a 'coming off the pill' story too. I was on it for 12 years, came off and for the first two months I had a very short luteal phase (so not compatible with conception) but month three must have been a more normal cycle because I conceived that month. So it may only take a couple of months for your cycles to settle

Gem173 · 15/10/2017 19:05

As it's my first month I wasn't too sure when I ovulated, I took 7 tests. 6 negative and one positive. I bd'ed 4 days before and the night before the pos opk and the night after. Don't feel like I have done enough but will just have to wait and see!

A friend of mine came off the pill and fell pregnant straight away. They were both shocked because they thought it would take about a year to conceive and suddenly they had to move their plans along!

NapQueen · 15/10/2017 19:00

Dc1 was second month. We dtd every other day that month.

Pregnancy two (mc at 11wks) we didnt track anything just dtd whenever we fancied. Took about 5 months.

Dc2 we dtd tge day I ovulated (I get ovulation pains so knew), and it was the only time we dtd that month. So literally one attempt.

Blueberrysandgrapes76 · 15/10/2017 18:59

Yep! No 1 was a one night wonder the first month trying. It can happen. fingers crossed for you

Gem173 · 15/10/2017 18:58

Wow so many successes! Really inspiring, it's given me a bit of hope! Am sure that if AF arrives at the end of this month that I will get hit back into reality. But until then il carry on dreaming!

I’ve fallen pregnant twice both after one missed pill so within a month. I have now been actively ttc for almost a year and nothing :(

Tiredmum100 · 15/10/2017 18:55

Yes, got pregnant with my 1 St on first month of ttc. I was on honeymoon and just had a feeling I was pregnant, took a test which was negative but I was still sure, I just felt different, dh said "don't be silly, get your hopes up etc". Did another one when we got home and was positive.

TillyTheTiger · 15/10/2017 18:54

Yep, was on the pill for 14 years without any mishaps, then conceived within a fortnight of stopping it with DS1

DragonMamma · 15/10/2017 18:53

I would say that I don't know if it would happen as quickly now, I'm 34 and my periods have started to become ever so slightly irregular but when I had my DC I was in my mid 20s

demirose87 · 15/10/2017 18:53

I have four kids, two of them took me one cycle to conceive. Weirdly, that was my eldest (8) and my youngest( 2 weeks). My middle children took 12 months and 14 months to conceive. But they were to a different partner so maybe its something to do with that.

DragonMamma · 15/10/2017 18:52

DC1 I wasn't even trying (on the Pill) and with DC2 we made the decision to TTC and a couple of weeks after I got my BFP.

katienana · 15/10/2017 18:52

I fell pregnant at the first attempt with both of mine. 😀

AnythingNotEverything · 15/10/2017 18:50

I've had one where we weren't even trying, then two conceived on the first month.

Just waiting for test for DC4 (10dpo!) and trying to remember it won't necessarily happen this time.

I feel so, so lucky for things to have been so easy for us in this department.
