If anyone is ttc2 and expecting their AF/ BFP in November then this thread is for you.

Let’s all give ourselves a fabulous excuse not to drink at Christmas!

My stats are as follows:

Age: 35
DS: 2 (in late November)
Cycle: 13 (lucky for some?!?!) I have short cycles so this is month 11 (yawn!)
AF/ BFP due: 2 November

I know it isn't helpful to symptom spot but I can't help but ask. I have really sore, but I now tingly, and sometimes burning boobs. AF due in 2 days (wed) Does anyone know if this is encouraging from their previous pregnancies? I don't remember having this with DD. It certainly hasn't been an AF symptom up until now (Although I am quite aware it is most likely to be a new one sent just to get my hopes up!).

This speculation had lead to ordering 4 FRER's off amazon next day delivery. Just the £35 on tests this month then 🙈

MissyPG · 13/11/2017 13:27

@mynameis that sounds like a good plan. We are cycle 10 or 14 (I never know what to count as I breastfed constantly and through night until March!).

We’ve been offered NHS IVF appointment but I’m just not sure once got that in me. I know people who’ve gone through it and it certainly is not the easy option!

@ Kit, it’s hard in any cycle I think but #3 still early doors, don’t despair and good luck xx

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 13:25

I'm very much an optimist in all things and get very sneeped if things don't happen but I will keep trying until I'm physically not able too. When I found out I was pregnant with my first I was in utter shock, so much so that I went home from docs and just cried, my OH thought i was seriously ill so it could have been worse. He was over the moon so that was my biggest worry gone. I read all these stories and knowing my experiences now going through this, I know how utterly blessed we were. I just feel like it happened so easily last time, why is it so hard now. Big hugs to everyone yet to poas this month!! Flowers

MynameisJune · 13/11/2017 13:08

@missy yes I often feel like giving up and accepting that we’ll be a family of 3 but I can never quite bring myself to do it. Not yet anyway. I think realistically if we haven’t had any joy after 18months of trying then we’ll have a conversation about where we go from there.

Kit1411 · 13/11/2017 13:08

Two of my friends have just had their first scans, felt like crying. My partner did and didn’t understand, only on 3rd cycle so hopefully it’ll happen soon, but this is my second and my two friends are having their first so maybe the second just takes a little longer. Stay positive ladies.

MissyPG · 13/11/2017 12:53

@ Lopey, I feel your pain wanting a 2nd... it’s about all I’ve ever thought about since having DD1. I wanted a small age gap so I could stick them in a double buggy, they’d go to same activities etc. Seems that my body has other plans... Good luck with the tests, I hope you get some answers xx

@ mynameis pregnancy announcements are so conflicting, two friends have announced and whilst trying to be happy for them I can’t help but feel a bit gutted. Both started trying after me and I just feel like it is highlighting the issue to me (not that I needed anything conception related highlighted!).

@cariad my fingers are crossed for you!

Anyone else ever feel like giving up? I’m not sure how much more of this I can realistically take 😓 xx

MynameisJune · 13/11/2017 11:24

@lopey completely understand the need for a 2nd. I’ll be honest before DD I could never understand how people could be so desperate for subsequent babies. After all they already had one. But this is just as bad as TTC first time around. It’s different worries than with the first one, like age gaps and what not but it’s still heartbreaking that it’s not happening. In some ways it’s worse because you see your only child playing alone and know they they’d love a sibling.

@ems sorry for the BFN, fingers still firmly crossed for you. I have no idea how people get pregnant by accident, I hope those that do realise just how blessed they are.

@cariad don’t stop trying my lovely, miracle babies do happen and if anyone deserves one it’s you! I’m so glad you’ve had a fab girly weekend, sounds like just why you needed.

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 11:15

I'm starting to wonder if there is a direct link between how much you think about it and how likely it is to happen. In which case, I'm never going to get pregnant, Grin. I'm obsessed!

I'm only on cycle #1 but I feel like I'm already reliving TTC my daughter which took a fair amount of time.

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 11:12

Trust me I was as surprised as you are now. I had come off the injection as advised by my doc as i had been on it for 10 years and my body wasn't happy with it anymore. I was transitioning onto the pill and so they suggested to get my periods to a regular status before going onto the pill. I had not been for my injection in August, not had any period and naively assumed I was still covered by the injection for another couple of months or at least until i had a bleed and so we still weren't using condoms. I got caught in the October, less than 7 weeks after coming off the injection. They told me it could take up to 18 months for my body to get back to normal. So there we go.

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 10:31

Ems, our first wasn't exactly planned Blush which is why it's coming as a shock at how long it's starting to take with #2

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 09:56

How the shitting hell do people get pregnant by accident?! Confused

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 09:37

Funky, sorry to hear of your BFN ☹

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 09:21

BFN this morning guys. 21 day bloods are for if ovulation isn't being picked up in all the usual ways and so registers how much progesterone is being produced and is supposed to be strongest at day 21 or 7 days before AF is due. Will have those results this week. Gutted again.

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 09:05

Claim* not calm

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 09:05

@Ems1986 ASDA £1 test picked up #1 day before AF due to visit. Should imagine Tesco be the same. They do all calm to be 99.9% accurate

Sorry to hear you had not the greatest dreams last night too. Fingers crossed you'll get BFP though.

AF due Friday, hopefully won't appear though

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 08:24

Tesco** not recording

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 08:23

Hi everyone

Really sorry to hear about the BFN, Lopez. I have woken to the same this morning after having dreams of BFP's. It seems to be all I think about. I keep thinking I see a line hen I hold it above the light and there is really nothing there. At all. AF due Weds so not out yet but the really white window is leaving me a bit more discouraged this morning than yesterday.

Anyone have any experience of recording cheapie tests? I want to just more FRER's but have wasted so much money already, it seems daft. Are the cheapies really so bad?

Funky - excuse my naivety but what are 21 day bloods?

Cariad - fingers crossed this is your month!

Hi Dino - when is AF due for you?

DinoMania · 12/11/2017 20:22

Hope you don't all mind me joining this thread, TTC #2 and this is only cycle no. 3!

Just want to say @LopeyLopez don't feel guilty at all okay for wanting another one! Sure you love your DS and you're obviously grateful for him but you're allowed to want another and your wait for that is going to be emotional. Sending you so much love and hugs xx

Funkyemzie · 12/11/2017 20:20

Lopez, it's one of those things that you just can't help. It's like an empty space, I totally get how you feeling! I think too that because DD is getting older, ive loved watching her grow into a beautiful young lady but I also miss my little 2 year old and I'm really feeling selfish by wanting that back again! We're only human beaut and thank you, you're defo not alone!

LopeyLopez · 12/11/2017 19:50

Oh and cariad you must jump on your dh asap!! cycle 14 or not, don’t give up just yet...you never know... good luck x

LopeyLopez · 12/11/2017 19:41

Thanks folks; it really does make a difference to me to have this group for support. I feel better knowing someone is listening and understands.

Funky, I have my bloods coming up too (first test, day 1 blood) tomorrow. So at least we are being proactive and trying to fix this and be a bit practical about it.

In my heart tonight I really just want to cry though....finding it really hard to keep things together at home in front of DS. I do love him so much. Why can’t that be enough? Trying for another baby is taking its emotional toll and I already have my lovely boy....

Cariad2014 · 12/11/2017 18:04

Sending enormous hugs your way Lopey. BFNs are so tough to handle. Do look after yourself my lovely. After 13 cycles of bright white pregnancy tests, I know how unbelievably frustrating it is to move mountains to time dtd to perfection only to be greeted by AF two weeks later. I shall be keeping everything crossed that you get that elusive BFP very very soon.

Sorry to hear you’ve had to endure another pregnancy announcement Mynameis. It’s so very tough, particularly after a loss.

I’m en route home after a brilliant girly weekend with two of my besties. I got my first positive opk yesterday, although I’m fairly sure I still havdn’t ov’d so all is not yet lost, albeit that this month’s timings won’t have been perfect (but as this is Cycle 14, I doubt we’d be in with much of a shot even if we did time it perfectly)

Funkyemzie · 12/11/2017 17:41

Oh guys, what shitty times! I'm trying desperately to stay positive and hopefully these bloods will shed some light. Flowers

MynameisJune · 12/11/2017 17:23

Sorry for the bfn lopey it’s so tough, I wish there was something I could say to make it better. We had another friend announce a pregnancy yesterday.

All I can think is that the babies I know born the last few months will be a year old if we conceive this month. I can’t seem to get over the age gap issue.

Funkyemzie · 12/11/2017 16:50

It's really hard when she asks for a brother or sister but fingers crossed! Big hugs to you hun, sending you luck for December LopeyLopez! Xxx
