If anyone is ttc2 and expecting their AF/ BFP in November then this thread is for you.

Let’s all give ourselves a fabulous excuse not to drink at Christmas!

My stats are as follows:

Age: 35
DS: 2 (in late November)
Cycle: 13 (lucky for some?!?!) I have short cycles so this is month 11 (yawn!)
AF/ BFP due: 2 November

Congratulations @secondtime I really hope you have a smooth 9 months.

@cariad I think if we ever get to the point of TTC #3 it will just be a not try not prevent and see what happens. I definitely won’t be putting so much pressure on ourselves.

Ems1986 · 14/11/2017 08:53

@secondtime that is brilliant news! So happy to hear that

Welcome, amberdixie

Looks like I'm out this month. AF arrived this morning. Oh well, on to #2

Cariad2014 · 14/11/2017 08:47

Enormous congratulations Secondtime. You must be over the moon. I shall be keeping everything crossed that you have a very dull 8/9 months ahead. Can we have some stats from you please (e.g. age; cycle; timing of dtd; vitamins; lube; anything you did differently)?

Mynameis - I shall be keeping everything crossed that you get your BFP very very soon and that ttc #3 is a breeze in comparison (assuming you want to go there).

Funky - That’s fab news on the progesterone front. Have you got any further tests lined up?

That meant to say MORNING not moring.... you may be able to tell that after my positive at 3am, I haven't really slept! xx

Secondtimelucky1980 · 14/11/2017 08:25

Moring all.

I got my BFP this morning at 3am! It's amazing news but Im very cautious though as my history of miscarriages means it may not make the distance. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Good luck to everyone and hope there are some more BFPs on here v soon xxx

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 06:48

Good luck to you too @amberdixie

MynameisJune · 14/11/2017 06:36

@missy I’d love a big family but DH has always said he only wanted 2. I’m 33 so it would be feasible if TTC for us didn’t take so long. DH is ever the optimist though!

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 21:51

Aww good luck hun, let us know how u get on!!

amberdixie · 13/11/2017 21:49

Hello.

We are casually beginning to try for baby number 2, my son is nearly 10 months.

I am still BF him so cycles are a bit all over the place but think I ovulated around 4th Nov. Caved and tested today (8dpo but cycle day 28 so got tempted) but obviously negative.

Will test again on Sunday. Good luck everyone.

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 21:46

@funkyemzie that is such great news.

@miniminions as soon as you are pregnant you can just say it's making your sickness come on so he'll have to shave Grin

MissyPG · 13/11/2017 21:36

@cariad, I feel your pain but as @mynameis said, I’m sure it’s nothing you have done... my fingers and toes are crosses for you!

@mynameis... I’m like your DH, I’d have 10 but at my age and all these probs this time I’ll be lucky to have another 1!

@funkyemzie congrats on your day 21 progesterone! Xx

MynameisJune · 13/11/2017 21:21

@cariad it’s so strange isn’t it, how things work out. I’m sure nothing you did last time with DS has affected anything this time at all.

DH has totally surprised me by just saying that he’d actually like 3 or more children! Erm can we actually manage to conceive No2 before we think ahead. We had always said two but I think he is enjoying DD much more than he ever thought he would. If we do ever get to no3 I think it will just be a try and see, if it happens great, if not then it’s okay.

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 21:14

@dinomania thank you and yes, its really frustrating but at least I know what's gone wrong and I can rectify it. I'm very pleased about the results and even though another BFN this morning, it's cheered me up alot.

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 21:10

@miniminions that is so funny. Maybe you should stick a wax strip to one side while he's asleep and in the morning just say something like 'i wondered where that had gone' then he will probs have to shave...i literally feel the pain though, for you I mean not him!
Ems honestly babes, even though you are on cycle #1 you have already been through this so it's prob as bad as being on cycle 12! Xxx

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 21:10

Oh that's good news and bad news there Funkyemzie how frustrating about the thermometer!

Funkyemzie · 13/11/2017 21:05

Well...got my day 21 results which were 32.5 so I'm told that that is confirmation of ovulation, whoop whoop!!!! The issue I have now is the fact ive probably been using a shitty thermometer not a bbt one (which I didn't know had to be 2 decimal places) so I feel like I've wasted the past 8 months! Plus opk's dont pick up my ovulation.

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 21:05

@miniminions had a real chuckle at that. It taken my mind off the suspiciously AF type cramping and heaviness I'm having tonight.

I'm so back and forth from positive to negative. It changes every hour. The waiting is such torture. Although I realise how silly that probably sounds on cycle #1 when there are some of you on here who have been trying for so long. The time it took TTC DD gives me a small understanding of heartache and frustration but I suppose what I'm trying to say is I'm sending all my luck and good wishes to you all x

MiniMinions · 13/11/2017 20:05

@Ems1986 also doesn't help that DH has been growing a beard for a year (yuck yuck yuck) and it looks awful and I hate to say it but hate kissing him now so kinda putting me off/not finding it attractive at all - although love him obviously!! If it was short like couple weeks not shaving length fine but this is like Gandalf and makes him look old ughhh

@Cariad2014 big hugs to you xx

Cariad2014 · 13/11/2017 19:35

Sending enormous hugs to everyone struggling.

Missy - I’m not ready to give up just yet but know that I’m not one of those people who can try indefinitely. We’ve been trying since last December (this is Cycle 14). I’m gearing myself up mentally to doing a couple of IVF cycles next year and then perhaps a couple in 2019. If I’m not pregnant by the time DS is 4 at the end of 2019, I think we’ll have to draw a line under it (although I’m mindful that if IVF goes badly, we might be advised that further goes are futile at a much earlier stage).

Mynameis - I’m totally with you on not fully appreciating how tough secondary infertility would be. I did a deal with the devil whilst pregnant with DS (my third pregnancy) and experiencing endless weeks of spotting. I essentially said that I didn’t care if that pregnancy ended up being high risk as long as there was a healthy baby at the end of it and that I was willing to trade in any future pregnancy taking a long time to happen for a healthy pregnancy with DS, as I naively thought at the time that trying for a second would be much less emotionally charged than trying for a first .... My pregnancy with DS did end up being high risk, but he was born healthy and it’s now evident that ttc this time around will end up taking much longer than last time (11 months in total)

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 19:26

@miniminions I can sympathise with you there. There is nothing worse than the worry of missing the window but just not feeling up to it at all. I rarely feel up to it Grin

Ems1986 · 13/11/2017 19:24

@Secondtimelucky1980 I have been testing each morning Blush but wasted my FRER's with my obsessive daily testing so it was a tesco cheapie I used this morning. AF is due Wednesday. FRERs will have been delivered by the time I get home from work tomorrow so will test again then.

I got my BFP with a FRER on the day AF was due (14dpo) with DD. I went to the doctors that same day and they wouldn't confirm because it was so faint so I feel quite comfortable about the fact I've been getting BFNs up til now. Comes with the terrority of being horrendously impatient I suppose. But I think I cope better testing each day rather than waiting.

My boobs feel so strange.... Tingly, sharp pains, tender to press or if I jump or move too fast. But it's mainly the tingling and lighting bolts that seem to be going through them that's getting my attention. But surely if I have enough HCG to create symptoms then I'd have a BFP by now too?

MiniMinions · 13/11/2017 19:23

Fertile window time from tomorrow and I'm so not in the mood, stinking cold thanks to DS and crap sleep the past few weeks (again thanks to DS). I suppose I could just lie there, go to sleep and hey magic might happen haha (just cough my guts up in the process!!)

Secondtimelucky1980 · 13/11/2017 17:13

Ems1986 sore boobs were definitely a sign for me with my son. When did you say you can you test?

xx

DinoMania · 13/11/2017 16:39

@Ems1986 really sore Boobs was what made me take a test day before AF with #1! So hoping it's a symptom for you so so bad! 🤞🤞🤞

MynameisJune · 13/11/2017 13:57

@missy we discussed IVF this time around at the beginning. We both said we didn’t think we would do it. But who knows. It’s great you would get NHS IVF, in our area as we already have DD we wouldn’t get the actual IVF on the NHS. It’s so expensive and invasive I just don’t know if I could do it with a toddler and a full time job.

@ems my boobs have never hurt at all during pregnancy so not sure. But it can be a sign of being pregnant. It could also be a change in hormones due to af being near, that’s the kicker about all this isn’t it. That most symptoms can either be pregnancy or af related.
