If anyone is ttc2 and expecting their AF/ BFP in November then this thread is for you.

Let’s all give ourselves a fabulous excuse not to drink at Christmas!

My stats are as follows:

Age: 35
DS: 2 (in late November)
Cycle: 13 (lucky for some?!?!) I have short cycles so this is month 11 (yawn!)
AF/ BFP due: 2 November

Sorry been a bit awol lately.

Sorry to all those with BFN and AF.

Congratulations @Secondtime.

Got a 🙂 yesterday and think I’m ovulating today, lots of ewcm, pain on the left and cramps like AF. 3 days earlier than last month on cd16 so looks like the vitamin b6 is working to lengthen the luteal phase for me. Going to do an opk when I get in. Trying SMEP this month, it worked with DS.

Good luck all Flowers

Cariad2017 · 16/11/2017 12:58

Sorry for the mammoth post!

Cariad2017 · 16/11/2017 12:57

Sorry to all those who’ve been hit by AF.

In terms of fertility prediction, I’ve never got on with apps but love my Clearblue Advanced Fertility Monitor. It’s not cheap and the sticks are expensive, but it definitely takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation.

We had our follow up at the fertility clinic earlier today which was broadly positive. She pointed out that although DH’s sperm morphology is poor at 2% his count and motility are very good, so theoretically there should be enough good quality sperm to fertilise an egg. He’s also currently working hard to keep his alcohol and caffeine to a minimum and taking various supplements, so hopefully this will reap its rewards soon.

Our current plan of action is to keep trying naturally for the time being and then make another appointment at the clinic in the Spring with a view to doing an IVF cycle (in all likelihood with ICSI) concluding in June/ July. I figure that by March, we’ll have been ttc for 16 months (which will be around 16/17 cycles).

It feels good to have a plan of action in place. Waiting until Spring is also likely to be better for me work-wise, and I’m reluctant to spend a fortune on IVF when success isn’t guaranteed if we can avoid it.

I’m slowly making my peace with having a 3 year gap between children (I appreciate that the gap may end up being much bigger if it happens at all - I will have to make peace with those eventualities as they arise), and can definitely see the benefit of a late Autumn 2018 baby (for a whole raft of reasons), so we’ll see...

Ems1986 · 15/11/2017 17:30

Sorry to hear that funkyemzie. Welcome to the club of wine and chocolate

Funkyemzie · 15/11/2017 17:09

Well as predicted AF arrived this avo. Only tiny bit of streaks but my back is in bloody pieces, don't know what to do with myself. Ah Well, I'm off to buy chocolate!!! Fx to everyone yet to poas! X

DinoMania · 15/11/2017 07:41

Thanks for that Cupcakesandlove Im gonna invest in some OPKs for the nexr cycle. They easy and obvious to use? Never even thought of need to bother with these (considering how easy #1 was for us) but starting to think I should look more into improving my fertility and chances as I'm nearing cycle 4

Cupcakesandlove · 14/11/2017 22:22

HI

Just to let you all know I have been using FF for a year nearly and I’ve only just found out since using OPKs that it’s been predicting me nearly a week earlier than I do.
It does predict AF correctly.

Ems1986 · 14/11/2017 22:08

I use clue but have just downloaded FF and added my AF data and it gives me a slightly earlier predicted ov date... which may be where we went wrong this month.

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 21:45

Ooo might give FF a go, I've just been using Flo, which I find pretty spot on with AF predictions but then again in pretty regular anyway.

Test came back with a BFN, AF is due Friday though so maybe just a bit too early 🤞

LopeyLopez · 14/11/2017 20:12

June, FF works well for me. Always predicts start of AF to within a day and ov to within a few days....have to use my knowledge of my body a bit too to make sure, but we pretty much hit the right time most months. The more data you get in FF the better the predictions get. Think I’ve got around 22 cycles worth now....!

MissyPG · 14/11/2017 20:05

@mynameis nothing worse than when you feel you’ve missed the boat. Hopefully all is not lost - my fingers are crossed for you! Xx

MynameisJune · 14/11/2017 19:49

I’ve got FF as well so might go back to using that. It has done it to me loads before as well. Luckily we haven’t missed ovulation, just not dtd as much before OV as I’d like to.

Funkyemzie · 14/11/2017 19:22

I really went off Ovia for changing my week every month, totally unreliable! I use the fertility friend app now, a bit more complicated and alot less pretty but I would rather have a decent app than it look good. Big hugs babes that's bad news! SadFlowers

MynameisJune · 14/11/2017 19:02

Seems like I’ve missed the LH surge, forgot to test this morning. Had a nearly positive last night and then a definite negative this afternoon. It’s early this month and has thrown out our planned dtd. Have only done it once so far due to DH being at work. Now ovia has moved fertile week to end tomorrow rather than Friday. I’m so annoyed 😡

LopeyLopez · 14/11/2017 18:38

That’s amazing news secondtime, many congrats xxx really hope it sticks. Sounds like your doctors are looking after you with all those meds expected to keep baby safe....best of luck 👍

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 16:19

Everything is crossed for you secondtime

Brilliant way to look at it Ems gonna take that approach if AF appears for me. On my way out to grab a sneaky test as can't wait till Friday

Ems1986 · 14/11/2017 15:42

second time I have everything crossed for you having a smooth final 8 months.

I know funkyemzie, I'm a day early this cycle too. Suppose it's better to have the obsession put to a stop sooner. Hopefully your cramps are of a different nature 🤞

Here's hoping that'd a good sign for you dino

We have lots of nice alcohol related things planned later this month so I'm using that as my consolation. At least I'll be able to go to all those and not have to pretend I'm on antibiotics. Although, I really need to adopt a bit of a healthier lifestyle for this next month. Less food and drink and more moving

Secondtimelucky1980 · 14/11/2017 14:25

Thanks so much for all your kind wishes! I had my first set of bloods today to measure my HCG levels and will have the second on Thursday so I should know by Friday whether we are at least out of the starting blocks! Feeling quite pragmatic about it all really, as I know we may MC.

Cariad2018 this was our cycle 1 of trying. I am 37, DH is 44. We tend to get pregnant every time we have sex if we do it at the right time (I use OPKs religiously, cervix checks and CM checks) HOWEVER don't think that I am proud of that or have a special power because I don't!! I have miscarried four times of the five times we have been pregnant. My body for some reason seems to fertilise any old egg but then most don't make it! It's a double edged sword. It's a numbers game for us.

I'm not on any medication, but now I am pregnant, presuming my bloods are OK, my consultant will probably put me on steroids, progesterone and blood thinners for the first three months, then it is just progesterone and blood thinners after that (IF we get that far, and that's a big IF!!)

I'm v sorry for those who got their AF. Crack open the wine and be kind to yourself. I may well be joining you soon if this pregnancy fails... hopefully not, but I am prepared for it.

xx

Funkyemzie · 14/11/2017 10:41

@Cariad2014 not got anymore tests as of yet, got my appointment through with docs though this morning for 24th November. I do feel happier.

@Ems1986 I'm not far behind you hun, woken up with proper AF symptoms, will be either today or tomorrow which will mean only a 23 day cycle this month, my shortest ever!

Congratulations Second, huge fingers crossed for you babes. X

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 09:31

Boobs not noobs haha

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 09:31

I'm really trying not to get excited but my noobs have started tingling today and my skin is clearing up. Both symptoms for me early on with #1. AF due in 4 days. Coincidentally also same day as my return to work after maternity leave.

DinoMania · 14/11/2017 09:29

@Secondtimelucky1980 congratulations. Hope everything goes super smoothly for you and baby. So happy for you xx

@ems sorry to hear AF has arrived. Stock up on lots of treats for yourself and have a "You time" evening. Fingers crossed for next time xx

MissyPG · 14/11/2017 09:04

@secondtime - congratulations, that’s great news! as @cariad said I hope you have a very dull 8/9 months in front of you!

@ems sorry to hear that, it’s horrible. Fingers crossed for next month xx

MynameisJune · 14/11/2017 09:03

@ems so sorry Af arrived, be kind to yourself and drink all the wine tonight.
