Hi Scorpio, hope this helps even though everyone varies a bit. Im normally every 35 days, it was estimated that my normal day to ovulate would be on cd20. I did a pg test on cd30 which was negative, then did a another test cd35 and was positive. So it is still possible for you

LOL at triplets. That would be natures way of getting one back for moaning about ttc . I secretly long for twins but I am being totally naive about it and it must be bloody hard work. My mum has twin siblings (brother and sister) and I am tall and an older mother. Thats means I am more likely than some to have twins, however, I doubt it will happen. If it did I would totally freak out

will test in about a week if no af, making me cd41, which will be longest cycle in my memory! dont want to test before because dp is away til monday night and i want him to be there with me if it is bfp.

Scorpio, long cycles are a pain cos it takes 6 months to have 4 tries at pg! My cycles tend to be quite long too but I always ov 14 days before af. I read somewhere that the length of the first half of your cycle can vary each month, but the second half (ov to af) will be the same each month, with maybe a day shorter or longer at most.

You can get about 30 ov sticks on ebay for about £6. Start at day 12 and just keep testing! And keep going even after you get a positive, until it goes negative again - you probably ov the day after the last positive one. I got 3 days of positive this month. I'm hoping that means I took a while to push the egg out and not that I popped 3 eggs and am having triplets .

But what am I saying, you might be pg this month. Are you going to test, or wait?

tbh plummy i didnt really realise either until i remembered i thought i was late last month. and then i checked my baby books that have lmp dates and previus cycle lengths in, and they're all 35 days ish, the shortest being 33, longest 40.im cd34 today. i am a bit silly! so its stands to reason that i may only be around 14dpo at the latest, if i have a 35 day cycle. which means when i last tested (Sunday) i was only 11dpo at the most!!! oh well, time will tell at the least i could only be 8dpo today, if cycle is 40 days again like last time. weird.....

Not sure of your full story but just wanted to let you know i lost my mum to cancer 6 years ago. When she left she sent me a gift my ds now 5. Life moves in funny ways but as you on this thread am sending prayers that the same will happen for you.
It's such an odd feeling but it sure got me through the first few years without mum around. x

Hi Scorpio - it sounds as if you could be right. I didn't realise your cycles were long anyway but as they are it stands to reason that you would ovulate later. If you are pregnant, it would also mean that you had tested too early before. In my case the opposite is true as my cycles are 11 days shorter so I get a bfp at only 3 weeks from last period. Maybe if you're not pg this month you could try the ov sticks around the time you stopped before? Hoping af doesn't turn up though. It would be great if you could join the due in new year thread. I haven't put my due date on there because I'm still apprehensive. It's 5 weeks on friday and I have to get through the next two before I have a scan. I wish I could time travel

i am cd34 today (WTF) but i have a discovery to ponder....last month i got to cd40 before af came, and i was just looking back through the dcs babys books, and i didnt know before, but it appears my cycles are about 35 days long, they have been before both pgs anyway, when im not using contraception....every time i have a dating scan they put me back 10-14 days too, so i must ov late or something? around cd20? that would also explain when i tried opks that they were negative until cd18/19 when i gave up. so its obvious then that im back to normal now? just dont think i timed it right for cd20, dp was away around that time, but i mau have just caught it! if i dont have period by a week i'll test again.

What does everyone think??

I just want to say to jhyesmum how sorry I was to read your post. I'm a newbie to MN but felt I had to post as my mum died after a long battle with breast cancer when I was 17 (I'm now 30) and MIL died last August from bowel cancer so I have some idea of how you are feeling although it affects everyone differently. Look after yourself and don't feel guilty about any of your feelings even if its anger or something else you are not 'supposed' to feel. It sounds like you have a lovely supportive family, they are what will get you through and you will do the same for them. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time x x x

Jhyesmum, I hope you and your family are ok and coping with your loss, it is awful to lose anyone, even harder being your mum, but from I can gather she is at peace now. Its good she had her family with her in her last moments. Thinking of you x

For those who have been through the journey of my mum with me:

She died yesterday evening with me,my dad and my sister with her. She was so so peaceful and now in no pain.

We are all in bits and we will miss her terribly but we are releived her ordeal is over.

Right - DH is off work at the minute with a bad knee. This means that I haven't been/won't be able to come on here much.
I have a rather strange situation as well as this. Sorry for TMI ...
On Thursday I got a bfn (tested simply because I was curious so not really worried) Later on Thursday I had some dark reddish-brown cm, only on the paper, not enough for a pad. There was slightly more on Friday, still the same colour, and it is still the same now. I never had spotting before dd and my afs were straight in full-flowing very heavy and lasting anything up to 2 weeks. So what the hell is this???? Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know I'm not pg but is this af or something else? If it is something else then any ideas as to what it is? I've got my scan a week on Thurday and I'm back at the gp on the 12th so I'll probably talk to him about it then if it doesn't develop into a 'proper' af before then. Just thought I'd say about it on here in case anyone else has had something similar.
