Well done on making the list Mum03. I hope you are feeling okay. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for you, it's time we moved off these ttc boards!

TMI ALERTI've tried using pre-seed but I think that one application is too much, it felt quiet unpleasent. I used it a few days ago but even last night felt that there was some in there as none if the semem came out. I think tht next time I will just use a smaller amount of it.

I red somewhere that if you bd every other day you have a 22% chance if conceiving, if you do it every day than your chances go up to 25%. Do it as much as you can be bothered!

pobletsmum · 15/04/2007 22:55

Hespera - yes every other day is good - frequent enough not to miss any window of opportunity but leaving enough time for sperm to regenerate (or whatever!)

As I said, I've never used it, but I know Pre-seed is sold by 'Access Diagnostics' and probably many other places. I have bought cheap pregnancy tests from them in the past.

Talking of pregnancy tests... have any of you bought any yet? I bought 10 on eBay tonight for £2.88 incl 1st class postage. They're the ultra senstive ones you can use from 7 days post-ov. I'm very impatient .

Off to bed now. DS is teething badly and was awake 11pm-5am last night . Very unlike him, and came as a bit of a shock. Hoping to get a bit more sleep tonight.

Hespera · 15/04/2007 22:39

Gemtubbs - hello and how exciting about the wedding! Tell us everything!

Pobletsmum- thanks for that, I hadn't seen that as yet - where do you get it from?

Secondly, (stupid question alert[brush]) am I right in thinking we should be BDing every other day?

pobletsmum · 15/04/2007 21:46

How exciting Gemtubbs! Please stay and tell us all about the wedding plans...

Mum03 - thankyou for doing the list. Can we copy and paste in details if they change or is it better for just one person to be in control IYSWIM?

MrsMcJnr - my name comes from the fact that DH's sister once called him 'pob' like the TV character. So...when DS was born, he was 'poblet' which makes me 'pobletsmum'. I don't really ever refer to DS as poblet in rl, but it just stuck in my mind so I use it here.

Imawurzel - how did eBay sales go? I don't think you have to pay for re-listing but might be wrong.

Hespera - not sure if anyone else answered you about pre-seed (sorry if I'm repeating someone else) - it's a sperm-friendly lubricant. It comes in applicator thingys and you use it prior to BD. Sperm like it apparently . Have never tried it myself.

To those of you who have had miscarriages - I'm very sorry to hear of your experiences . Please feel free to talk about it as much as you would like. I wish you all the very best on your TTC journeys.

Hello to everyone who I haven't mentioned.

Imawurzel · 15/04/2007 20:09

Ooh 3 weeks.
Got everything done??
I took the week off before ours, so i could relax and double check everything and do a bit of tidying before rellies came to stay.

Gemtubbs · 15/04/2007 20:06

Hello! I'm a bit new, but I'd like to join if that's ok. Been ttc since November. Hope May is the month for everyone! I'm getting married in just under 3 weeks so we always have the honeymoon to get in a bit of extra trying hard! All the best to all the soon to be mums to be! Love Gem.xXx

Imawurzel · 15/04/2007 17:38

Oh yes and well done mum03.
It's cool to see my name on one of those thingys.

Imawurzel · 15/04/2007 17:37

I'm sat watching my items on ebay. ending tween 5.45 and 7pm ish.
It's fun watching the price go up and up.
Is that sad??
6 out of 8 are sure to sell. Annoying that if they don't sell i still have to pay to re-list (don't i?) Not done it for yonks.

wheelybug · 15/04/2007 15:56

Hi all - well done with the list mum03 ! It iS quiet around here !

Not much to report here. Just had 3 couples (and children) to stay for the w/e - all 3 are expecting. Thought I was going to feel horribly horribly jealous but we had a lovely weekend and I found out one of the couple have had an awful lot of problems conceiving which made me feel v. humble.

Scan tomorrow to check for PCOS here. Feeling a bit apprehensive about it but at least it might help.

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine !

Hi to all, I am so tired at the moment and being so so hormonal too, I just hope that all this hormonal action can perhaps produce a baby soon.

goingfor3 · 15/04/2007 10:15

Morning all,

Hopw you are all well, this thread is very quiet at the moment.

I think I may have already ov'd . I caved in and bought some ov sticks. Friday and saturday they were negative. I had some ewcm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday but none today. I probably missed the surge on Thursday. We bd'd on thursday and friday so should be in with a chance. Will carry on this month just incase I was wrong! So I may now be on the two week wait, well usually about 11 days for me which means I'll be due end of April.

mumto3girls · 13/04/2007 16:45

God yeah...mind you I'd have millions by now..

MrsMcJnr · 13/04/2007 16:22

Totally agree. I wish I still believed you could get pregnant by kissing a boy!

mumto3girls · 13/04/2007 15:24

Why is it until you get pregnant you always assumethat pgy = baby at the end of 9 months...

Never did I know how hard it would be to have babies..and I have had it easy compared to some people..

It's such random lottery out there!!

MrsMcJnr · 13/04/2007 15:19

that must have been so awful for you, I'm sorry.

goingfor3 · 13/04/2007 11:00

MrsMcJnr - I don't have a problem with anyone talking about miscariage, it helps people know they are not alone. I had a miscariage at 20 weeks the first time I was pregnant and really wish I had known about MN then.

MrsMcJnr · 13/04/2007 10:53

Hi Reecey ? It can take some time for things to settle down after being on the pill. Your best bet until you know what is going on when is to be really vigilant about your CM (cervical mucous) and aim to go for it whenever it is the consistency of egg white or wetter and you feel lubricative or wet as opposed to sticky or better still aim for 2/3 times per week to cover your bases! Like Pinkelephant says, the pains are a good sign too, if you have them, you?ll know about them. Sharp and stitch like on one side. OPKs can be helpful as a back up to confirm the time when you think you might be about to ovulate. Used on their own, especially if you are irregular, they could really stress you out and that can actually delay ovulation. It?s happened to me before! I get mine from access diagnostics, they are much cheaper especially if you ovulate late like me but still start to worry from cd14 that you?ll miss it, I often need more than the standard 5 in a pack! Good luck with it all! Ask any questions anytime; we?d all be happy to help.

Hey Pinkelephant thanks, I am totally with you on the visualisation. It is apparently really important (says Zita West) as your brain controls the release of the LH to bring on OV and being in the baby zone helps apparently! Mind over matter and all that! I think if it happens again, I will fall apart and as I know that I can?t prevent that or make it feel better if it does by preparing for it, I?m better to tell myself that it won?t ? does that make any sense? PMSL about your dream!

Imawurzel ? hiya, it can be a long haul getting back to normal but the last few cycles sound promising! Let?s hope that you are on your way to that BFP

Goingfor3 ? thanks for you kind thoughts Make the most of that CM and fingers crossed!

I hope we are not upsetting anyone on here by talking about miscarriages I remember when I started TTC being terrified when I saw how many ladies it happened too but I think it is better to know the stats actually and hopefully no one on here will need to know anymore than that If anyone feels they?d rather not read about it on this thread, please say and I?ll talk about it elsewhere in future.

Welcome Pobletsmum ? usual name? where does that come from? I temp too and find it a really helpful indicator. We have a chart spotters thread here and post our charts here if you?d like to join or a temp spotting thread here if that?s more your thing I use Ovusoft and would be lost without it!

Hello PinkSlippers good luck to you too!

pinkslippers · 13/04/2007 10:19

Hi all CD2 here. Good luck everyone on the may thread.

pobletsmum · 12/04/2007 21:44

Hi everyone,

I'm at CD4 now, and not really doing much preparation yet, other than taking Sanatogen prenatal, but not taking these as religiously as when TTC1 .

Reecey - have never used Ov kits, but have managed to monitor my fertility quite accurately by taking my temperature in the mornings and watching for other fertility signs (there are websites for charting this kind of thing & they can give you more info). My cycles vary 28-40 days but I always know when af is due by these fertility signs, which is quite handy, especially when TTC .

Scorpio1 - I think that link is to an American site. They work out the dates for the trimesters slightly differently to UK sites, although due dates seem to be the same. Here is a British due date calculator in case anyone needs it.

Best wishes for those of you further along in your cycles...

goingfor3 · 12/04/2007 18:56

Evening ladies,

Sorry to see so many who are here after miscarriage .

I'm not counting cycles days this month or using OPK as I'm trying not to get too obsesive! I am comming on to my fertile phase judging by my cm. Af is due end of april start of may.

Imawurzel · 12/04/2007 18:52

normal [gggrrrrrrr

Imawurzel · 12/04/2007 18:52

MrsMcJnr I came off the pill in Oct 06 and been having 30 day long AF's but the last 3 months have been 26-28 days apart.
Getting back to noraml i'm guessing.
Af is due 19th April. (or maybe not)

PinkElephant · 12/04/2007 15:43

Reecey - I found First Response OTK the best. Do you get any ovulation pains to give you a guide as to when you are ovulation perhaps?
MrsMcJr - Love your positivity!! I am feeling very positive at the moment but also trying to stay realistic so that I don't fall apart if this all happens again. I was told by a friend of a friend of a friend etc who is a spiritual medium, that if you really want something badly, you have to actually imagine yourself in the situation you want to happen. That same night I woke up at 2am fretting as I thought I'd left my baby on the top of the car roof??? Not only did I wake up gutted to realise I have no baby yet but was also slightly disturbed about my future mothering skills!!!!
Flumpytiger - I know excatly what your saying here. I tried to figure out dates etc last year as I had started a new job. Here I am nearly a year later still TTC with threatened redundancy and DH made redundant 4wks ago. Bloody nightmare... I tell you these things cannot be planned but seem to happened when you are at your most vulnerable, financially!!

Reecey · 12/04/2007 14:56

Hi MrsMcJnr

I came off the pill at the beginning of January so ever since then really but because my cycles are all over the place I find it hard to work out when I should be ovulating, can anyone recommend good ovulation kits?

Flumpytigger · 12/04/2007 13:18

Thanks Scorpio, that calculator is a god send. It makes everything so clear

I'm all stocked up and ready to go, hubby won't know what's hit him!

Heres to a happy May for us all
