I got a BFP yesterday!! haven't even had AF since mc....just had a feeling that took me down the chemists...and the fattest quickest line ever came straight up!!

I agree, there has to be a magic ingredient that we don?t know about, that said, the only cycle DH and I managed to BD everyday in my fertile time, we did get a BFP so it was a numbers game for us that cycle I?m Scottish (funnily enough!) are you? I?m with Plummymummy, I would love to not be at work full time but I guess the grass is always greener. We need all the money we can both earn at the mo so it?s just not an option for us but that?s because of our own choices to date and not because the choice was never there if that makes sense! I?m TTC our first (well, second )

I am at the doctors on Friday to get a few tests results (basic blood tests and scan) - was hoping I could dance in and throw a BFP in the doctors face but I think not. Next month will be the 12th month since we started ttc (I conceived cycle 1 and then m/c so we haven't actually had 12 cycles of ttc IYSWIM) so know how you feel.

I agree with you bobbydazzler. My mum said she didn't agree with the parents being 50 yards away and I said that it would've been the same distance if we were sat at the bottom of her garden, yet we wouldn't think twice about leaving ds upstairs in the house. People need to have a more supportive attitude toward parents in their awful situation - it's fine if you don't ever leave your child alone, but it doesn't help to judge others especially when they are probably consumed with guilt anyway.

Was CD 25 today but AF just arrived as leaving work, so as said earlier on this thread it is off to the Docs for me to ask for blood tests.

Next month will be month 12 of TTC which for me is a big mile stone if don't fall next month .

The annoying thing is I was quite laid back about everything this month and wasn't really thinking about whether I was or wasn't as I was back home with my folks having a nice time over the BH and was really busy when returned to work today, oh well, onwards and upwards and all that.

Best go and tend to the gorgeous wee one I have instead of lurking upstairs feeling sorry for what I don't have.

We are in the lucky position that dh's wages are enough to live on. I was only working PT before having dd - had been FT but fortunately going PT and finding out I was pg coincided nicely But it meant that we didn't see a big drop in wages when dd was born. In fact, SMP was more than I'd been getting some weeks!

I think it's all a matter of choice. I know people who would rather walk on hot coals than be a working mum and I know people who would go stark raving mad being a SAHM. I think you have to do what suits you.

in our house, its just dp who works. i have never had a job, but then i had ds1 at 17 (pg in last month of school) and ds2 at 19, and am now 22.i have been studying for the last 2 years though, so thats sort of a job! (shut up tigerschick with your student lazy things ) dp is a carpenter. after this baby i intend to finish my degree(2 years of that after baby) (having a year out for this baba) and get a part time job (when baby 2.5) until baby goes to school-when i will work full time. its always been my ambition to work as well as be a mum.i enjoy the adult company at uni, and am a better mummy for having a bit of me time.i also feel that it is a waste of me staying at home iyswim??although i will have done them all as babies and will be very pleased of what i have done.i think something like this is different for everyone

CD20 here today, and am doing the dreaded symptom spotting even though if there is a baby it prob hasnt implanted yet!7 dpo tomorrow, on the home stretch

No not scottish sweetkitty - a massive Grays Anatomy fan!

I already have a DD (4 years) and a 22month old DS!

Not has sex yet so def not pregnant!

tbh annie - I do miss the extra cash and also the adult ness if you like esp the conversation, but when you look at the wages PT for me (i'm determined not to go back to what I was doing pre DS as it was stressful, and tbh I don't want that hassle as well) and take out tax, child care loss of credits etc. i'd be worse off/earning under £40 p/w which for me isn't worth the time away from DS iycwim however, ask me again when he hits his terrible 2's and I might well change that view . me stopping work thou had effectivly halved our income (DH had a good raise thou so we're down about £300 now) so it's meant a lot of cut backs but we do OK.

soph - I know what you mean part time would be great with no childcare costs of course, I think we have been spoiled with all the good weather getting out and about now it's turned cold again we don't know what to do with ourselves

I'm going back to college hopefully to do a post grad in teaching when DD2 goes to school as before then I would only be working to pay nursery fees so it's not worth it, so only another 3 years to go plenty of time to squeeze in another baby

I choose not to work, DH is of the view it's his job to work and support us both and for me to stop with the children. so that's how we do it. (least have done till now) i'll get a little something when the youngest is at nursery/infants etc.

Plummy - I´d be CD35 if didn´t count it as period so I probably am testing too soon.

I must admit sweetkitty that by the end of 3 years I was really looking forward to going back to work as it was starting to feel as though my brain was turning to mush!! Now that I´m back I wish I was part time again you just can´t win can you I just have to keep thinking about the extra money I´m earning! It was lovely though to be able to wave DH & DS bye bye on the days when I wasn´t working, shut the front door behind me and have a cup of tea and watch the news in peace Those were the days!

aww Soph sorry about your BFN don't know what's going on there but sometimes my AF stops for a day then comes back again 3 years off for maternity leave sounds fab as does you all working in the same place, my DP is out the house 6.30am to 7pm 5 days a week which is hard sometimes. Am so at "here" as well.

I know the SAHM v WOHM debate the grass is always greener isn't it and I truly wouldn't want them to be in nursery full time, I do love being with them but you sometimes do feel like a bit of a nothing person if that makes any sense? DP has suggested I do an OU course just to engage my brain again don't know what he means (am off upstairs to sort out washing/read books and pretend to eat plastic food for the next hour ) better go can smell a nappy that needs changing (am not really selling motherhood to first timers am I) maybe we should add what we have already/first time ttc????

sorry to hear this but what cd would you be if you don't count the bleeding as period? Is it possible you could be testing too early?

Well, just to keep you all uptodate I managed to get to a chemists and its a BFN so I now have absolutely no idea what´s going on!

Hi tigerschick. It went from winter to summer overnight! We went to the car at the end of school yesterday and it was 48 degrees (inside the car that is!) I thought I was going to melt before we made it home!! When I had DS it was 42 degrees in the maternity unit and they still insisted that you wrapped your babies up. I kept unwrapping DS, which is probably why he now won´t sleep with anything over him, not even in the winter!
