sounds idyllic. how long have you lived there?

Soph73 · 14/05/2007 16:00

We have no intention of leaving - not until we retire anyway We used to live in the capital city Las Palmas, but we bought a house in Arinaga last year which is about 10 minutes south of the airport, so the weather is a bit nicer and it´s lovely and quiet where we are. Just what we needed after living practially on top of the motorway!!

lissielou · 14/05/2007 15:36

just seen your profile. gran canaria? lovely! id never leave! whereabouts are you?

Soph73 · 14/05/2007 14:56

Very nice. We´ve got another 7 weeks until we´re on holiday (when school breaks up). We don´t go back to England during the summer hols as flights are really expensive for the 3 of us and we have to visit family up north and down south so it gets a bit much financially. We always have a week on the south of this island where we stay in an apartment with it´s own pool and just veg out - very relaxing. We normally get a visit from someone though, don´t know who it´s going to be this year yet!

My mum had exactly the same problem when she had me and my brother .... thanks mum it must run in the family!

lissielou · 14/05/2007 14:06

thats what happened to me too. dh keeps reminding me when i pester too much about ttc that i nearly died in feb.

thanks for comments about ds, he's yummy. i keep forgetting how lucy i am. we are off to presthaven in wales on fri so lots of visits to rhyl etc. im soooo excited!

Soph73 · 14/05/2007 14:00

Hi lissielou - have just had a look at your piccies and your son is gorgeous I know you´ve probably told everyone already but where are you going on holiday? Hope the weather´s good for you.

I know what you mean about you´d have died 30 years ago. I was also told that just after I had ds. He was an emergency cesaerean (spelling?!) because I didn´t/couldn´t dilate - so I have to keep remembering to thank my lucky stars that at least I´ve got one gorgeous son

lissielou · 14/05/2007 13:45

hi all, well we go on hol on friday. what am i going to do without you ladies for a whole week?! having said that at least i wont be tempted to test early again

saw my counsellor today and in the middle of one of my trademark crap body, useless womb rants i realised that actually, im doing all i can. i cant control this and its not my fault that things keep going wrong. id've died 30y if id lived 30y ago, which is a bit scary.

bobbydazzler · 14/05/2007 11:50

Morning all,

Can one of you clever people who keep the lists add me on please?

I am CD 6 having FTC in May

CONGRATULATIONS Mrs McJ, was v. pleased to read your lovely news and do hope you will still stay around for awhile to keep us posted on how you are doing and make us all feel better with your lovely posts.

You did mention you thought you knew me from another thread about lawyers and babies but in fact I did not post on that, have only posted on the conception thread. I do like my job as one (i practice employment law btw and hello to Annie Mac who has said she is one too).

Wheely, Meto and Kaliedscope, think we are around same CD, can we be cycle buddies?

Snowgirl (hope got your name right?) know how you feel, DS was relatively quick and easy to conceive but so far FTC number 2 Think age may be a factor, was 34 when fell pregnant first time but was 36 (now 37) when started TTC no. 2

Going to ring my GP today to try and get an appointment to start getting the basic tests done. My DH has told me he wants to come with me which is nice so will see how receptive and helpful the surgery is.

Sorry if I missed anyone else off who has had a BFP this month. Well done if you have!

Morning all - you´ll all be pleased to know that after our heatwave it is now cloudy and rainy this morning so you see it´s not all sunshine and sangria Had a very relaxing weekend, which I needed as AF coming this month really got me down. Talked to dh about it and he really doesn´t seem concerned at all and has adopted the attitude "if it happens it happens", which is not particularly helpful, especially as he was the one who really wanted another child and it took me a good 4 years to convince myself I did and now I can´t think of anything else! Hey ho, keep positive I suppose!

sweetkitty - not quite sure when I ovulate because only realised kept a track last month but I think it´s about the same as you and you´re not sad because I work out when next AF is due as soon as it starts!

pobletsmum - of course you can join us nice to know there´s someone else in the same position ifyswim!

plummy - how you doing? Have still got everything crossed for you I´ll join you in the wine drinking (am allergic to prawns), but hopefully you´ll be on juice

mrsmcjnr - how you feeling?

scorpio - hope alls well in your household and you´re enjoying dp being home.

Sorry to all of those I missed but it´s not easy keeping up (especially as I´m supposed to be working )

tigerschick · 14/05/2007 09:25

Hi Everyone

(thought we'd need a few s on this grey morning - well it's grey here at least!)

Sweetkitty - Not so much analysing as whining I'm afraid! I'm on CD130 (i think) and no idea when, or if, AF will turn up!

Plummy - how you doing? Managing to wait until tomorrow?

Scorpio - how was the weekend? Dp back now?

MrsMJ - Hope you continue to stay well.

Awen - Sorry you've been a bit sicky, hope it doesn't hang around too much longer. When is your next scan?

Lissielou - I don't know your history but, by the sounds of it, you are very brave to keep trying and I really hope you have a successful pg very soon.

Pobletsmum - Hi. Hope you are well.

Anyone I've missed - sorry and hi and hope you are well

Oh, btw, I have finally got my scan date thru - Thursday 31st - 4 weeks my arse!!!

Mrs McJnr - bfp

I hope I have done that right apologies to anyone I have missed off.

CD7 here not much else to report really was talking to a close friend who is 16 weeks pregnant with her first, it made me so broody, how can I be broody I already have 2 babies but I can't wait to meet another one, that's me I am finally utterly insane! On the other hand she is so funny saying "it won't change my life "

plummymummy - I am keeping everything crossed for you that AF doesn't turn up tomorrow, I've only been on this baord a few weeks and already I am so so hoping that all of you get a bfp, it's funny isn't it?

lissielou - so sorry to hear of your ep too some of you girls have really been through it

tigerschick - I know what you mean analysing every ache and pain, what's your CD are you coming up to AF time?

fingers crossed for everyone else that's coming up to testing time here's hoping there's been a bumper crop of baby dust sprinkled over us all this month.

lissielou · 14/05/2007 07:23

people just dont know what to say after do they? how are you today?

plummymummy · 13/05/2007 20:39

Well I'm not surprised, given your experience Mine was not as traumatic -but the crushed hope was the worse thing to contend with. I was lucky enough not to damage any tubes. The waiting was difficult too as I knew it was a failing pg but they wouldn't do an evacuation (preferring to leave it to nature), so constant monitoring and lots of questioning looks from work colleagues due to change of role - but couldn't tell them. Told them after though.

lissielou · 13/05/2007 17:03

plummy im so scared of having another ep that i test after afs been just in case

plummymummy · 13/05/2007 14:40

Tigerschick - I think ttc makes you study your body more and that's why we analyse our cm, bodily aches/twinges etc. I had a pain in my shoulderblade last month and convinced myself I had another ectopic pregnancy, but period came nonetheless Sometimes I fear this whole process is turning me into a hypochondriac

tigerschick · 13/05/2007 12:51

Afternoon ladies

Awen - good luck for the scan

Plummy - not long now until Tuesday ... be strong

Scorpio - Sorry you were down yesterday. When is dp due back? Hope you're feeling a bit better today

Strange pains in my back yesterday - seemed to move from the middle of my right hip, across the small of my back, into my left hip then settle on the tops of my hips for ages then just go away! Today my shoulder blade is sore again - I'm just falling apart I think!!

It's interesting seeing how everyone's cycles go. Having such looooooong and irregular cycles means that I've never been able to get a handle on how mine works. I have cm on some days, not on others, sometimes it's clear, sometimes it's reddish-brown... but it never seems to be in any order or lead to anything!!! It's more than a little frustrating. At least I have dd to prove that my body isn't completely rubbish!

And on that cheerful note I shall leave you all to your Sunday afternoons

scorpio1 · 13/05/2007 12:32

plummy-dont you will go MAD!! if (it will) my period comes im going clubbing

plummymummy · 13/05/2007 12:09

I've been cleaning too. Washing the wallpaper to take my mind off things. Have been getting some twinges today which feel like pre period twinges. We'll see. Period due tuesday. Sometimes my cycle might be a bit longer than 24 days but I usually at least have spotting by that time. My nipples look darker but I think it's my imagination. Oh help me, I think I am going insane If my period comes I am going to eat loads of prawns and drink lots of wine. I do so love prawns

MrsMcJnr · 13/05/2007 11:51

Hello ladies Rubbish weekend weather here [feather duster out tickling you all with baby dust! )

You?ve been busy! It?s going to take me ages to catch up!

I?m good thanks Tigerschick no sickness (yet) just tired with enormous boobs How?s the back?

Lexie100 ? hope the relaxed attitude made a difference this cycle, fingers crossed!

Plummymummy ? that is odd about the frequency of the smears, I think you are entitled to know why. Have to say that the yellow CM sounds good, I have had that too when first pg Everything crossed for you. That brown spotting sounds odd that you usually have. I think like you, I would count cd1 as the day when I first need proper protection.

Hang in there anniemac!

Jhyesmum thanks! Sorry you are having such a crap time Hope you find out what is going on very soon.

How are you feeling about things Pinkslippers? Fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear about AF Pobletsmum but totally understand where you are coming from with the antibiotics. Wonder if the hour thing is to let the drug get through the lining of your stomach? But that will be what is making you feel sick. Maybe they don?t agree with you and you should let GP know?

Scorpio ? hope you are feeling better I have lots of CM.

Jacqei ? Congratulations! Agnus Cactus I have heard of but not the one you mention. Glad it worked for you! I have heard a lot of warnings about the herb I mentioned, it is very powerful and can be dangerous too. I guess best advice is to always get professional advice before taking anything, just in case

Lissie ? sorry about the pain.

Hey Awen hope you are feeling well in spite of the sickness (none for me ? yet!) hope the scan goes well.

Hello SweetKitty

sweetkitty · 13/05/2007 10:18

Morning ladies CD6 here AF has packed her bags and vacated the premises so will have to start BDing sometime soon sometimes (and I will only tell you on here as I am I do think about waiting until I think I'm actually OVing to start doing the deed to maybe weigh up the chances of a blue one this time BUT then I think oh sod it if it's to be it's to be and then I think a blue one what would I do with one of those, 3 pink ones would be fab, I love pink and maybe a blue one would feel a bit left out so we will leave it up to fate after all you get what you are given and be thankful.

I had a very rare night out on Friday with some other mums and all we did was talk about our children, pregnancy, childbirth, hearing all the horror stories you would think I would have been put off! First time I have been out in over 3 years where I haven't been PG or breastfeeding felt weird like I've just got my body back and now I'm doing it all again.

best of luck to all those on the 2 ww too!

scorpio1 · 13/05/2007 09:47
