Just that really.
Me and my partner are trying to conceive our first child together.
I have two children aged 10 and 8 and he has a daughter who is 9. We all live together and are very happy so this would be the perfect thing to complete our family.
We have been trying since May.

1st child: Came off depo injection in August, periods back October and fell pregnant end of April.

2nd child: first time

3rd child: 4 months

BillyAndTheSillies · 28/12/2017 17:40

DS - 3rd cycle. It was the only month we didn't pay any attention to ovulation sticks and just had sex every other day.

TheIntrovertedMum · 28/12/2017 17:33

First pregnancy aged 25: 7 months!

Iwantaunicorn · 28/12/2017 13:28

First started trying at 26 (hadn't been on the pill/hormonal contraception for 5+ years beforehand) no joy for years then fell pregnant after first round of ivf aged 31.

TheLegendOfBeans · 28/12/2017 13:23

@mamaiFifi don’t mess about with anything that’s not clearblue digital smiley face one. And read the instructions!

1st pg - 3rd cycle (age 34)
2nd pg - accident when DD was 16w. (age 35) Ended in mc and broke my heart.
3rd pg - 8th cycle (age 35)

BlueeSpottyTiger · 28/12/2017 13:17

Dd #1 = 3 cycles
Pregnancy #2 =3 cycles then mc
Pregnancy #3 =1st cycle after mc, ended in mc again

4 months after coming off the pill

MacDJ · 28/12/2017 12:18

Ds#1 - I was on the pill & had just bought my wedding dress for my wedding in 3 months (stress much!)
DS#2 - had the implant out 6 months, was on mini pill found out Boxing Day after not being able to eat much on Christmas Day due to the smells
Dd#1 (DC#3) - Was told I couldn't have any more children after Ds2 due to PCOS so she wasn't expected!
TTC#4 - been ttc since last October :-(

nk1605 · 28/12/2017 12:01

1st pregnancy (age 26) - a surprise, wasn't trying.

Now actively trying for 2nd pregnancy (age 29) - currently on cycle #3. Cycle #2 ended in mc at 5 weeks.

Bubblegum89 · 28/12/2017 11:28

This thread is seriously depressing lol so many 1st/2nd/3rd cycles

@mamaiFifi no doctor will intervene until you’ve been trying to conceive for at least 12 months.

Tohaveandtohold · 28/12/2017 11:25

With DD, 1st cycle and I was 24.
Now 29, just had my first AF since coming off the mini pill in November so hoping and praying this is going to be quick as well

mamaiFifi · 27/12/2017 10:43

3rd cycle
When would people contact dr for support?
Plus what ovulation kits would you recommend? I was using cheap internet ones but I was finding it difficult to read.

MouseLove · 26/12/2017 23:12

Still trying... 16months. Had a mmc at 10 weeks a year a go. 😞

Anna2006 · 26/12/2017 22:07

1st pregnancy (age 26) - cycle 1 (ended in mc @ 13 weeks)

2nd pregnancy (age 27) - cycle 6

@Greggers2017 keep at it! Our second try at pregnancy felt like lifetime when in reality it wasn’t (can say that after it’s happened). I had 2 months on top of that of waiting for my period to return before we could start trying again obviously. So there was a 10 month gap ish between me falling pregnant. Longest 10 months ever after the first loss.

Currently 34 weeks pregnant & waiting patiently for this one to arrive 👶🏻

Greggers2017 · 24/12/2017 20:56

It's so frustrating at times isn't it? I conceived my son and daughter whilst on the pill but I was 10 years younger and it was a different partner

It took me and my husband 5 years to conceive our son. I was 42 years old. Told unexplained infertility. Had private ivf but failed. We gave up and then it happened for us. We been trying since son was born for 2nd child but not happened yet. Keep praying and never give up folks x

SnowFairyDust · 23/12/2017 23:10

DS - 4 months, I didn't know how to do it, nothing about fertile windows, ovulation etc etc Blush

Then read a book...

DD - About 10 minutes on first cycle!

kittensinmydinner1 · 23/12/2017 23:03

DD1. 3yrs 2 months . Tried clomid (nothing) discovered pg at blood test for start of ivf treatment. For unexplained infertility.
😀
DS1 13 months later. Not trying

DD2 3 yrs 10 months later.

No contraception used from day started ttc until menopause.
Regular sex with DH and numerous tests of both of us. No reason ever found.

Lollipop30 · 23/12/2017 22:22

DD1 - 4yrs (with fertility treatment)
DD2 - 2&1/2yrs (with clomid)
DD3 - Total surprise realised I was pregnant about 4mths in.

Lentilbaby · 23/12/2017 22:19

First baby within 2 months

dancingunicorns123 · 23/12/2017 21:59

Baby 1 first cycle
Age 18

Mrsjones17 · 23/12/2017 20:11

Wow lots of first cycles! Lucky ladies! 13 cycles later in trying everything possible and still no luck! The odds are not in my favour! Hmm

PirateWeasel · 23/12/2017 19:45

@NimbleKnitter - your post about cumulative odds is actually really comforting, so thank you! I realise that nature doesn't always follow logic, but it's a psychological boost to see that the odds aren't in your favour until six months and over. There's hope for me yet! How do you work it out, incidentally? Maths was never my strong point! x

ApplesTheHare · 19/12/2017 10:48

MJordan what a lovely surprise! Congratulations and I hope it all goes well. When we had no idea about conception date they did an extra scan to find out so fingers crossed they do the same for you Flowers

DoneAdulting · 19/12/2017 10:35

1st - unplanned surprise
2nd - 2.5 years and counting
