How long did it take you to conceive?

Just that really.
Me and my partner are trying to conceive our first child together.
I have two children aged 10 and 8 and he has a daughter who is 9. We all live together and are very happy so this would be the perfect thing to complete our family.
We have been trying since May.

I should add that dd was unplanned and conceived when I was 28 as a result of one drunken condom failure that I didn't even get the MAP for as I was convinced I couldn't possibly be in my fertile window - was about day 5 of my cycle!

I had my coil removed last May (2017) and in September 2017 I had an ectopic. I also had a chemical pregnancy 2 months ago - tested positive for a few days before my period was due and then got my period as normal. I have one dd age 7 from a previous relationship, but I am mindful that I am now 36, a tube down and I also have a history of endometriosis, so I may be up against it.

The chemical at least gave me some hope that at least something was fertilised, so hopefully my remaining tube is ok.

I too am going to see the doctor on Thursday to get the ball rolling with fertility investigations.

So sorry it's not a happy story from me either, but I am in the same boat unfortunately! 😕

4 months. I was 21.

DS1 1st cycle, no period in between implant removal and falling pg. Although we dated him to be a month earlier than he actually was so I don't think I ovulated until quite a while after implant had been taken out.
Ds2 second cycle.

DD1: 8 cycles (aged 27/28)
DD2: 1 cycle (aged 30)

First time I had been on the Mirena for more than 5yrs and didn’t even get a period back for 3 months. I think my womb lining was very thin and acupuncture seemed to help (or at least it was a coincidence gang I was having that the month I got pregnant!)

Dd1 - 2 years, so many ovulation sticks and tears and ultimately clomid.

MC - 1 year with clomid

DD2 - 6 cycles no clomid

DD3 - one missed pill!!

In that time though I have got a lot healthier, which I think makes a big difference - I used to be a bit underweight and very unfit, so maybe that's the charm...

DC1 - 1st month (30yo)
Pregnancy 2 - surprise (ended in miscarriage)
DC2 - next month is cycle 1!

Oh and both of us had to be tested. Partners semen tested twice and is fine. I’ve had day 3 and 21 bloods done, all fine. Think it just takes longer for some than others!

Pregnancy 2 - 7 or 8 cycles

@ohdearyme it's difficult isn't it? Nobody understands when I get teary at new babies etc.
Hugs to you too, my sister had an eptopic pregnancy 2 years ago and now has 8 week old twins 😍

Greggers2017 Gosh I’m so sorry to hear this. I’ve been trying 17 months with an ectopic in between so I sympathise with you. I’ll be speaking to my doctor next week regarding tests.

Sorry I don’t have a happy story just wanted to let you know you’re not alone 💐

Update, it's now been almost a year so we went to see the gp yesterday. I have to have 2 lots of blood tests and my partner has to go back to see the gp to be referred back for semen testing.
Feeling quite deflated at the minute. Somebody hold my hand and tell me it will be ok.
Any success stories where you struggled to conceive will be much appreciated.

Well over the Christmas period my little sister had announced her pregnancy and my sim sent me a scan picture this morning so at least some baby happiness coming my way 😍

It took 3 months with our first when I was 33 and it took 5 months with our second when I was 36

Pregnancy 1 - (aged 29) about the 6th cycle (I honestly can’t remember as it was nearly 8 years ago!)

Pregnancy 2 - (aged 36) about the one millionth cycle as we’d never been careful in the whole time we’d been DTD... and weren’t ever using any contraception. Ended in an ectopic and surgery in March this year

Pregnancy 3 - (aged 36) about cycle 6 - currently 15 weeks and looking forward to my next scan! Not currently enjoying my first bout of thrush this pregnancy though...
