Here we are again! Some of us been here a while & finding it hard ttc our second, but we've been supporting each other and chatting since June, so let's carry on!

Can I make suggestion? To recap now, & to help us all keep up as thread gets long and new people join, how about we all put quick recap at end of each new message (or once a day if posting lots back and fwd as we do sometimes?!) (bit like email signature!) with the vital stats and anything else you want to add (like if IVF for example) so mine is:

36
DS age 3
Ttc#2 since Jan/Feb (early mc in Aug)
Af/bfp due Oct 12th

Might be a bit of a pain typing it each time but would help everyone know where we're coming from? Good luck all for another cycle, we can do it!

Am I okay to jump on here? This morning I got a very faint positive 11dpo, AF due Friday. This is the first cycle for #2 (DD nearly 4, I am 26). It's very very early days so can't quite get excited yet (although DH is over the moon), and will only relax a bit when AF doesn't show as I am regular like clockwork, every 4th Friday AF visits. Will test again tomorrow as I can't help myself!

LopeyLopez · 23/10/2017 16:35

Sorry about af soda. I would like to say it does get easier but as time goes by I think I just get more numb to the disappointment.....hopefully both of us are not here for much longer. Big hugs xxx

RhiBee29 · 22/10/2017 20:32

6dpo symptoms spotting but there are none! No sore boobs, funny taste, heartburn , nothing. Is it too soon? Come on body give me a sign!

Sodasoda · 21/10/2017 15:43

CD1 here. Pretty gutted to be honest. 3 days earlier than expected which I guess is good because it hasn't kept me waiting but bad because it means my cycles are messed up too. We timed it perfectly this month! Oh well Sad

LopeyLopez · 21/10/2017 07:43

Good luck rhi and soda.

Lots of shagging and no early testing always good!

Hmmm, haven’t really thought about acupuncture Beansprout. Although I’m in no doubt that it helps, from anecdotal evidence of what people on here and elsewhere have said....I can’t help but think, why? And how?? Both myself and oh are scientists, so the scientific brain in me can’t quite reconcile acupuncture with that side of things!! If it were just me I would probably go for it because the desire to have another child would overide anything I felt about alternative medicine! But I’m pretty sure there’s no way I could convince oh!! He is such a cynic about such things! Or if it was free I’d definitely give it a go...but with it being so expensive, I couldn’t justify spending that much for something we weren’t both fully invested in. Because it would be both of our hard-earned cash that paid for it.

What I have noticed this last month is I’ve tried to sort my diet out....much less sugar, less calories, more fruit and veg....and I’ve noticed that not only am I feeling better generally, and have lost a bit of weight (2 kg so far!), my cycle has “improved”. With that I mean, less spotting before af; longer period (is sometimes only a day or two for me - very scanty); less cramps; less o pain. So that’s got to be a good thing, right??

I was reading this article about infertility and there was an example of the “ideal” cycle and the “ideal” bbt chart....mind was so far off it that I found the whole read very depressing, and that partly inspired me to try to sort it out a bit. Although I have regular cycles and no issues (that I know of), according to this I was so far off ideal that it was no wonder I couldn’t get pregnant! But, this cycle was too good to be true: imagine this:

  • no cramps
  • NO pms symptoms (yeah right!)
  • 5 days fresh red blood (no brown)
  • no spotting
  • 14 day luteal phase
  • no o pain
  • bbt temps do not fluctuate during either follicular or luteal phase
  • clear 1 degree step up at ovulation
  • bbt lower than a certain temp (can’t remember this one, sorry!) for entire follicular phase

I mean, come on, who has all of this?! Really depressing read. However if it did spur me on to sort myself out than I guess it was of some use.

Sorry for long post; just posting latest musings...!

Good luck all...I’m only on cd6 now so a good week or so til the next shagathon!!! 😂

Beansprout30 · 20/10/2017 13:28

Have you ever considered acupuncture @lopey? I'm sure that helped for me first time round, not cheap but I'd recommend it. Sorry you are feeling down, it is a mind fuck ttc xx

Sodasoda · 20/10/2017 12:33

11dpo today. Cramps have stopped but getting lots of clear discharge which is very odd for me.

Couldn't help myself and did a cheapie test. BFN. I don't know why I do it to myself! Not testing again til Tuesday when AF is due! May test on Sunday

Sodasoda · 19/10/2017 19:53

Wow rhi you really went for it! Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry you're feeling down coconut and Lopey. Really hope November is your month.

I'm 10dpo and have had AF-type cramps all day. Feeling quite sorry for myself as it really feels like AF is round the corner.

LopeyLopez · 19/10/2017 07:40

Thanks Beansprout.

I am feeling very down about it at the moment. I wouldn’t mind so much it taking longer if I was only 30. But the fact is I am fast heading for 40 and running out of time.

But your 16 month story gives me hope, thank you.

It is very draining going through the disappointment month after month...

Good luck all xxx

Beansprout30 · 18/10/2017 21:16

Sorry for af @lopey, hope November is your month.

Hang in there those losing hope, it took 16 months to conceive my first i honestly thought it wouldn't happen naturally but it did x

CoconutGal · 18/10/2017 18:28

I’m struggling to keep track of ovulation etc because my periods are so irregular. I’ve had scans etc & there’s no problems there. I’ve been very slack this month. I haven’t tested ovulation, I haven’t kept track of cm or temping. I just feel like after 11 months I’m a little deflated & just generally can’t be bothered to be checking for signs anymore. DH & I so desperately want another child but it’s feeling like it won’t happen.

RhiBee29 · 18/10/2017 13:32

So I don’t think I could’ve done anymore this cycle...and I’m still battling a cold. Fingers crossed. Let the TWW symptom spotting madness begin Confused

Sodasoda · 17/10/2017 19:51

Get on it Rhi!

Anyone testing soon?

8dpo here and really going to try and hold out until (hopefully!) AF is late. No symptoms, just feeling impatient!

RhiBee29 · 16/10/2017 22:36

I got a Smile!!! Never had one before. So reassuring.

LopeyLopez · 16/10/2017 19:05

Congrats Fluffy! Yes, as people say, cramps are normal so I wouldn’t worry: just everything settling in. Have a healthy pregnancy xxx

Af arrived today for me so I’m out - onto November / cycle 9 😥

Beansprout30 · 16/10/2017 13:28

Congrats @fluffy! Good line, I think cramps are normal so try not to worry

Sodasoda · 16/10/2017 10:33

As far as I remember I had exact same AF cramps when I was pregnant with DD - even went to buy tampons as I was so sure it was on the way! Fingers crossed all will be fine fluffy but I understand the fear xx

Fluffykins1986 · 16/10/2017 10:26

Thanks for your kind message.
I already don't believe it and am convincing myself cramps I feel mean chemical pg. AF due today too so feel sure she will arrive anyway just to spite me!!
We DTD every day for the 5 days leading up to O and on day of O. That's it. That's also why I just can't quite believe it might have worked! I didn't do anything else like so many other ladies do.
Trying to console myself that even if these cramps are af, at least that test means it's possible!
Good luck to all of you.

Sodasoda · 16/10/2017 09:59

Definitely a good line fluffy! Congratulations! What cycle was this? Any words of wisdom for us?

RhiBee29 · 16/10/2017 08:13

I see a line @Fluffykins1986 congratulations x

Fluffykins1986 · 16/10/2017 08:09

RhiBee29 · 15/10/2017 20:28

Thanks @Sodasoda I don’t think I’m consistent enough with them. Interesting with the ic, I didn’t know a faint line was a negative. Hopefully I won’t need to use them again and this will be my cycle!

Beansprout30 · 15/10/2017 19:29

Good luck @soda, really hope you conceive quickly too

Sodasoda · 15/10/2017 14:54

Congratulations bean sprout! fantastic news! I hope I'm as lucky as you - my first took a while but on month 2 of TTC second and really hoping it doesn't take as long!

Rhi I don't think it matters what time of day you do an IC OPK - as long as you try and do it at a similar time every day to be consistent. An internet cheapie isn't positive until both lines are the same darkness or the test line is darker than the original - a faint line is negative. For me this month I get no second line at all and then the next day a very positive test - so no fade in. I get a positive for 2 days so I guess as the LH surges up and then back down again and I tend to ovulate on day 2 of positive OPK - so 24 hours or so after first positive test. Hope that helps!

6dpo here. Drums fingers....
