We’ve had another death in the family, now 3 in 10 days. Fucking hell. But life goes on and new squidgy babies on the way is so special and lovely. Stick tight little beans.

Oh and apparently he had absolutely no idea and thought I'd come onto my period already, so there is that - he's more cautiously pleased than excited but that's OK - he got vv excited the very first time and then crashed from it. Whereas I'm already excited and not scared at all even though I probably should be. I just feel like everything is in place and if it doesn't work out at least we've found we can GET pregnant again.

Ah Miami that's good to hear. I'm glad you've had some closure on this before Christmas too. Onto next year, a fresh start for lots of us it looks like.

I didn't tell my mum! I kept it quiet even when she was asking about our appointment in Jan! I managed to mention pregnancy twice actually without giving the game away :)

DS had a friend over this evening so I managed to entice DH away telling him I had "a surprise for him in the bedroom" haha - had wrapped up a tupperware box with the test in. He cheated and didn't read my note but looked through the edge and said "...Are you sure?" I said look at it and you'll see if I'm sure! Then he joked about it not being very strong and I got worried and said well it's faded a little bit but I've got pictures of when I first did it, and he said no, that's the strongest one we've ever had!

He really really wants me to call the doctor tomorrow and my reasoned plan didn't placate him at all - humph. So I will call them and find out if they're open between xmas and new year and if not, book an appointment for the new year.

I’m 4dpo. Nothing to report. Finished work last Friday so on an epic wind down.

Thanks so much for your messages this morning. Our baby girl was totally perfect (which I knew anyway, but nice to have that reassurance), she was completely bang on growth and development wise, no signs that she was struggling to get what she needed from placenta etc. What happened was sudden and extreme, there is some evidence of clots in my placenta and one of the autoimmune blood tests has come back positive for me. So I have been referred to rheumatology for further tests. I feel relieved in a sense that it is something that nobody could have anticipated. All my other risks had nothing to do with the event. So a lot of my anger has already abated. I feel so much calmer really which I hadn't expected. I think the simple fact that they are taking this as seriously as we are and that they have already said that it feels like they don't have the whole story yet is good. I feel much more like I can trust them then I thought I would.
All in all, I am very glad that we got the appointment before Christmas.

I feel we've done well on this thread recently. Here's hoping they're all nice and sticky and there will be more BFPs soon.

OK so the tip is a bit embarrassing, but considering we only DTD once in the whole fertile time this month it's probably worth sharing - DH used a cock ring which was (ahem) rather good for me and also seemed to result in a more powerful ejaculation. Def recommended.

I also had him on a multivitamin but I believe this would have taken effect too late.

I'm skyping with my mum in a minute and I don't know if I'm going to keep the secret! Oops!!

It's a proper BFP, isn't it? No wonder I've been feeling sick and tired! Oh please let it be okay. If I get to new year's day I'll be exactly 6 weeks which will be a milestone for us. I think I've decided not to go to the doctor until then. I'd have to have bloods 48h apart which means even if I go today I won't get an answer until after Christmas anyway and the office is likely to close over the whole period. If I miscarry before new year then I'll go to hospital, that will get it logged (and checked in case ectopic etc) - otherwise, go to gynecologist in new year and by then there should be a visible heartbeat.

This means if I get that far I'll be 8 weeks along at our genetic testing appointment!
