TTC after recurrent miscarriage

Hi, just wondering if anyone else was in a similar place to me and wanted to chat about it? I'm 30, TTC my first and have had three miscarriages, all early (two natural MCs at five weeks, then a MMC where a scan at 6+5 revealed development had again stopped at 5 weeks). I've had RMC tests and am just waiting on the results of that but hoping to be able to TTC again from my next period, which should come any day now. I've found throughout the whole thing (have been TTC just over a year now) that it's really helped me to chat with people in similar positions, so if anyone wants to be TTC buddies please let me know!

That's great news keepon, how reassuring and lovely.

Good work on the stronger line lisa, call the EPU and ask for the bloods. They have to be 48 hours apart so plan to go for the first one knowing you can go back around the same time 2 days later. The results come through really quickly.

That's great news, keepon! So pleased to hear that all went well, and I really hope that this means you can start TTC-ing with renewed confidence and hope.

I'm feeling ok - this morning's internet cheapie was the first one where the line was actually there, not 'maybe there if you squint'. Will see what the FRER looks like tomorrow, but I guess I'll probably have to call Coventry. I'm really worried that the progesterone means that if this one is a no-hoper I won't bleed when I 'should'. Miami you mentioned going to the GP for hcg tests - do you think this is something that's quite standard to ask for? I did ask at the hospital when I had my recurrent miscarriage meeting whether that would be hypothetically possible and they kept saying 'you can have a scan at seven weeks', but mine have all failed before then, and I don't want to wait until then just to be told it's another blighted ovum that I should have passed naturally two weeks sooner.

Anne - sorry to hear period arrived and is a painful one.

Lisa - I have fingers crossed for you and this pregnancy.

Bertie - sweetcorn sounds grim. At uni I forgot about a ham sandwich over Christmas holidays. Big mistake - i came back to find maggots crawling over it.

I'm still waiting for appointments to be confirmed. Tempted to book a private scan as it has felt a long time since last one.

Keepon that’s amazing. Keep meaning to pm you and then I realise that I only really use the app and then forgetting that I can’t really figure out how to do that. Will try now before I forget.
As I keep saying to people if you have a clear problem that can be seen on scans why shouldn’t it be sorted out really. I have everything crossed for you.

Thanks Lisa. How are you feeling today?

Have had my scan and in the words of my consultant my uterine cavity looks amazing! She said it was the best result she could have hoped for and she'd pretty much consider it normal now. I've got to take progesterone for 5 days to induce a bleed and then we're good to go. I'm so hoping that that's the problem solved.

Eurgh, that sounds horrible Bertie. I'm generally a really unsqueamish person - can happily clear up blood, vomit, poo - but something about very off/mouldy food really turns my stomach. I make DH deal with it all and I've been known to be horrendously wasteful and bin Tupperware that I deemed too far gone to deal with!

Really hope scan goes well today keepon and you get the all-clear to go back to TTC.

It is totally normal and absolutely not a bad sign for symptoms to wax and wane throughout the first trimester but particularly before about 7-8 weeks.

Grr I found a can of sweetcorn in the fridge today which had started to ferment Envy the plastic lid was bloated and when I tipped it into the recycling, the water it was in had gone all syrupy - yuck! I think we found what made DH ill Hmm - at least it's not contagious.

Breasts are less swollen, rather ominously - though the left one (and only the left one!) is very achey!

Thanks, Anne, but I think I'm not going to treat this as a BFP until Friday, as I really think this might fade away by then. I did take an 75mg aspirin this morning, as that's what my local hospital told me to do if I got a positive and I figured that even if this is a no-hoper it can't hurt. If it is looking better by Friday I'll have to call Coventry as they never sent through the letter that I'm supposed to use to persuade my GP to prescribe me more progesterone.

I was baby bombed by a colleague this morning. Surprisingly feel alright about it. I had anticipated it coming at some point.

Got my scan tomorrow morning and then all being well we shall be climbing back on the TTC horse in a week. Although goodness knows what all this oestrogen has done to my cycle.

How are you feeling? What advice were you given about actions post bfp? I'd give them a bell and check, and definitely get your bloods done.

Definitely a line. Congratulations. Remember every time there is a chance. And you have a treatment plan this time so believe in that as strongly as you can. I would get booked in for hcg bloods at your gp for next week. Two days apart. It helps. And then if you can face a scan at 6/7 weeks? It helps to break it up into smaller chunks I feel. Or even days, like congratulate yourself and bean for every day that you make it through. I am willing and hoping that this is your one Lisa. All the best.

Don't worry about faintness vs strength of lines. It's not a problem. Even progression isn't very reliable - a pregnancy test is simply a binary measure, it tells you yes or no. The only way to tell your hCG levels is with a blood test.

If you think you can talk yourself down you could try one of the digitals with weeks estimator, but even they are notoriously unreliable, so only if you can cope with getting a low result.

That's a clear line and from what you said yesterday, sounds like good progression from yesterday. How certain about ovulation day are you? Could that be why it is fainter than you expect? I've not used frers so can't compare lines.

Anne - how was your temperature today?

Thanks Bertie - as I say, I'm feeling very doubtful as I'm sure all three previous were better than this, and two of those were gone by 5.5 weeks! I'll just have to wait and see what happens by Friday - if a darker line or another faint line then I'll call them, if it's gone then I can just stop taking the progesterone as normal.

By 'super faint' I really do mean 'barely visible'. I know this is my own stupid fault for testing!

Was weak and tested again on a FRER. Super faint line (and nothing at all really showing on internet cheapies). Far fainter than I got on 12dpo with any of my failed ones, which hardly seems like a good sign! Will have to retest on Friday and see if it's gone by then, as otherwise I'm not sure what to do about the progesterone as obviously I won't start bleeding by myself unless I stop taking it. I guess I'll have to call for advice if I'm still getting a super faint line then.
