Share 'How it happened' - not literally but how you went from a TTC-er to a BFP-er!

Hi,

Been here a while and thought, I don't see many posts how one got their BFP!! So in the name of TTC-ers, would the newly BFP-ers share their successes.

Were you planning, strategically trying, been through the hsg/bloods/ivf meetings/had ivf/clomid, addicted to ovulation testing, random night out, thought 'fuck it' then it happened...

First time it was Valentines day, my birthday and half term. Had been trying for 5 months since our honeymoon. Taking temperature helped and so did a lot of booze! Second time was a total surprise. It hasn't happened in 2 years of trying so we assumed it wasn't going to. So we booked and went on a really expensive summer holiday. And then had a BFP 4 weeks later...

Baby 1: charted, used preseed, OPKs and timed intercourse. 3 pregnancies in a year & 3 miscarriages. 4th time was the charm. Frigging stressful and full of grief.

Baby 2: DTD randomly when baby 1 was 9 months old. Upduffed.

Baby 3: DTD randomly 5 days before what turned out to be ovulation. Upduffed.

Current pregnancy (might be baby 4): charted without temping in order to avoid pregnancy for 5 years. Added in temping and timed intercourse (ovulation minus 1 and day of ovulation). Currently (crosses fingers, toes, everything) very slightly upduffed - 5 weeks.

DH firmly believes he has super sperm. I firmly believe we are very lucky (and were very UNlucky for the first year!)

Think mine was luck. Set myself up for a long time TTC due to endometrosis.
Started as meant to go on got OPKing did the deed...

Up duffed. Not much advise im afraid. I did just have a operation which cleared my tubes out and I fell immediately after that. But was only trying a month before that.

Oh! Congrats!!

What a bloody nightmare, but then a great ending (of your TTC journey) and beginning of your BFP!!

Don't think it's ever tmi here ha ha!

Oh! And a TMI, but both times were massive orgasms and a position where my legs were raised after sex! Think I may have had an issue with the position of my cervix, which wasn't helping!

First time round - addicted to Clearblue ovulation kit.

Second time round - had given up!

Not a new BFPer, but someone who went through nearly 10 years of issues whilst TTC first baby.

First BFP came after a hycosy. For some reason that worked after IVF had failed on the first round and we'd had years of early miscarriages or unexplained long bouts of infertility. Very strange, but excellent.

Second BFP came after we had tried everything again, but this time everything had failed. So we gave up; started the ball rolling on buying a new house; went away and had lots of alcohol... and.... BFP.
