We started trying properly last month, and inevitably my husband was away during the key few days! Unsurprisingly, my period arrived bang on time so now we're onto cycle number 2.

I'm being very impatient about conceiving and it seems to have been forever already (I know, I'm being a crazy person!) but I think part of that is having taken pregnacare since April, even though we were still using contraception then. I guess I'm just not very good at not being in control... I've had to seriously educate my husband too - he seemed to be convinced that we could get pregnant at any time of the month, and that it would inevitably happen immediately! He didn't realise that it often takes months even for healthy couples.

I'm on cycle day 19 and opks still saying high! That's the 9th day of high!

T0684 and karate girl my husband is exactly the same. Very irritating!

T0684 · 25/09/2017 02:11

Hi Karategirl,

Arrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

I recently posted on another thread as I'm too impatient - we've been trying since June and my husband was exactly the same thinking it would happen just like that as well as thinking that we could get pregnant any time of the month...

So far it's all been negative and it's frustrating as everyone around me seems to be falling pregnant without even trying whilst I've been using clear blue ovulation packs and an app and yet it just ain't happening!

I'm sending you lots of baby dust xx

peachesarenom · 24/09/2017 22:50

MrsKrantz I know exactly what you mean!!!

peachesarenom · 24/09/2017 22:49

Aph413 how exciting! Fingers crossed xxx

MrsKrantz · 24/09/2017 22:27

Hello, mind if I join?

First month officially trying for #1. Had what I thought was implantation bleed 6 days before AF due (2 days of brown spotting, v.unusual for me) but AF now here in full flow.

I've bought clear blue opks but unsure when to test due to early bleed. Updated Ovia so think I'll test on first fertile day according to app and go from there!

I have a feeling I'm going to be obsessed, already spent a looong time on conception board this weekend.

Hope October is a good month for all, good luck!

Aph413 · 24/09/2017 22:00

peaches we're keeping at it. DH made me take a test today and he thinks there's a squinter. I think it's an evap and we're waiting for Thursday which should be my period.
He's working on other signs and thinks I ovulated on CD 16, I'm not convinced.

peachesarenom · 24/09/2017 21:46

Aph413 I think you can still ovulate late, keep DTD every other day!

Aph413 · 24/09/2017 20:09

peaches he's getting there! I had 12 days of high on the clear blue sticks without a peak before I have up testing! No sign of ovulation and I'm at CD25, it's either the mother of all cycles or I've not ovulated in which case I'm ready for cycle 2 now

peachesarenom · 24/09/2017 11:49

@aph413 how is your fella, up to speed?
I fell out with mine yesterday. I blame too much sex!

@karategirl #ontothenext !!!

@lampert well done love! I think that means you've sprinkled babydust on us!

Who said they had the clearblue monitor. I do too. 8th day of high. DTD 6days. Knackered!

karategirl · 24/09/2017 11:33

Thanks @Aph413 It's frustrating, but I'll survive. I'm considering ordering some OPKs and starting to temp, but I wonder if that will stress me out more.

Sorry to hear that karategirl I don't think I've ovulated this month either

karategirl · 23/09/2017 09:21

I'm out this month Sad My period arrived 5 days early yesterday morning. I did think I might not have ovulated this cycle, so I guess it makes sense. I feel awful though. I hope everyone else is having a better month than I am.

Thank you @Puggy1985!

I don't even know what the next step is. I guess ring the doc surgery and see what they say but I am going to wait a few days and make sure AF doesn't arrive. As soon as I've told anyone in real life it will all feel like it's actually happening and I want to ensure it's not a chemical. I feel like I've been so lucky that it can't all go to plan!

Welcome @81Josie. That's a few of us married in may! Hope things happen quickly for you x

81Josie · 20/09/2017 10:47

Mind if I join in? I came off my pill after our we got married in May. So last month was very strange. My AF was very early and very light. I was convinced it was implantation bleeding but had a BFN. I brought the clear blue advanced fertility monitor and tried that this month. Seemed to work ok ( peak and high days) but woke up this morning to AF on the day I should have been pregnancy testing. I know we have only just started but I already anxious especially as I'm 36 and my DH is 40. Neither of us have been pregnant before.

I'm glad to have found somewhere to chat with people going through the same. Despite having lots of pregnant friends and friends with children I don't really want to talk about it with them, and I don't want go on with the DH too much as he thinks I should just chill about it and I know he is disappointed too. It's tough isn't it? Xx

Puggy1985 · 20/09/2017 10:18

@lampert this is such amazing news, I am thrilled for you!!! 😁 so what's the next step - doctors appointment to confirm the results? You both must be over the moon 😊 xxxxx

lampert · 20/09/2017 10:07

@Puggy1985 @karategirl I still can't believe it but it looks like I'm def pregnant!

First three tests are from yesterday and confirmed again with a clear blue this morning. Must step away from the tests!!

Just now keeping my fingers crossed it isn't a chemical and that it sticks!

I'm sending lots of luck and good vibes your way everyone! x

So, onto cycle number 2! Anyone else quite new to this game?
Puggy1985 · 19/09/2017 21:45

@karategirl I guess in the 2ww (I'm getting used to the acronyms now!) it's a good idea to get some nice meals and nights out to have something to look forward to and (try) to take your mind off of things!

I've definitely learnt a thing or two from the first month trying, so I'm staying optimistic for once AF has gone. In the meantime, I'll try and stay busy to pass the time :) xxx

karategirl · 19/09/2017 20:57

Eek, how exciting @lampert Look forward to hearing how you get on.

Hi @Puggy1985 It's such a learning curve, isn't it? Hopefully it'll go better next month.

My boobs are still pretty sore today. They feel pretty heavy too, but I think I'm probably imagining it all! Only another 8 days until my period's due... Argh! Confused

Puggy1985 · 19/09/2017 20:39

Let us know how you get on in the morning - I will be thinking of you!!! 🤞

lampert · 19/09/2017 11:29

Thank you puggy. We got married in may also so v similar to you. I'm not getting carried away (or trying not to!) because this was only cycle 1 TTC and we only dtd twice (though used OPKs to time it right) so it feels a bit too good to be true. The line wasn't very clear either (but I posted on here and a couple of people kindly looked and said it looked like a line) so I'm just fingers and toes crossed! I feel completely shocked because I thought it'd take months and surely I just can't be this lucky!!! I will test tomorrow and try not to be disappointed if it's bfn. Wishing lots of luck to you and everyone else on here too!

Puggy1985 · 19/09/2017 11:11

Ahhhhh that's so exciting @lampert ! I have everything crossed for you! X

lampert · 19/09/2017 10:45

I'm 11dpo and mayyyyy have just had a bfp! Can't wait for tomorrow morning to test again! Aaaaaaaah!!!!

Littleredwagon2308 · 18/09/2017 22:15

Welcome @Puggy1985 Smile

Puggy1985 · 18/09/2017 20:55

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join? It's my first time on here and first post so I'm still getting used to all the acronyms etc.

Me and my husband got married in May and have just started trying to conceive. I've never logged my periods/cycles before and always though I was quite regular. Now that I've been tracking them with the Opia app over the last couple of months, I've realised I'm pretty irregular. 35 days last time and 24 this time! So although we have been TTC this month, we have all the fertile dates wrong so when I came on my period today, it was quite a shock as wasn't expecting it for another week or so. So first month hasn't been successful and I'm pretty gutted! But at least I'm learning more about my cycles now and hopefully we'll be successful in coming months.

Good luck to you all too! 😊
